Angel D, appears before the TRILAT leaders, dressed in a somber robe.

"What do we make of the threat of the Grey? You all know of their attacks in E-strain space. This cannot be allowed anymore. I am out of communication at the moment, so I must trust to the rest of the TRILAT to defend my four other moons where fleets currently grow."

This thread is for discussions about the threat of the Grey and the defense of the E-strain Moons.

The Battle of the Moon of Galilie And the Grey Empty Concering the Grey men

Post  LeftenantRyuk Tue Apr 05, 2011 1:42 pm

I have not dealt with the Grey before, and as such I would like to gather some information, especially about this latest attack. To ensure that I have the best updated data, could someone please inform me of any information we have on the Grey.

In addition, propose that the TRILAT sends out a small fleet to investigate the original attack site. I am willing to send 15 of my star-fighters and my Star-freighters to find out this information. I am asking that someone sends a small contingent of ship along with my. To help protect our forces, I will personally go on this mission, and I am requesting that someone strong with creating illusions comes along. I can aid with fire and shadows, and a little earth leyas. I request such a person to aid me, so that we can disguise meteors and other flotsam and jetsam as ships will illusion .

who is with me one this?

[Encrypted Communication from Beacon City Command]

To all TRILAT allies near the planet of Galilie. Our forces have met resistance while conducting recon with the northern hemisphere of the Galilie's moon. We are requesting additional assistance. Please be advised. Command suspects Iron Republic forces are engaged.

If information on the Grey is needed, perhaps I can help. I’m not sure if all the members of the Trilat know this, but in addition to Annihilators (and thus a large supply of void weapons) I also have Uthvalor Oracles. I will have my oracles use their instant recall ability to try to find information about the Grey. Specifically, I will have them search for Grey weakness, Grey abilities, How they create their technology, how they have ambushed the E-Strain moons. If there are any other things concerning the Grey that you would like investigate, please let me know. Also, I have used the Oracles in the past; if people would like me to use them for future investigation, please, contact me. I'm more than willing to share their knowledge as I have been willing to share void weaponry.

Ryuk, if you are going to send a party to investigate, I will give you one of my Satellites to aid you. They can record the past of any area they view. It will be camouflaged with Invisibility and if you need it can fire a solar flare at any target if views. The Satellite will be keeping an eye out for enemy craft in space and troops on the ground.

The Battle of the Moon of Galilie And the Grey Empty High priority encrypted message

Ryuk and Axis,

We have a few thoughts regarding the defense of the other fleetmoons.

Before anything can be done regarding their defense, we need to know where they are. In order to do this, we need the communication beacon. Unfortunately, the Iron Republic ALSO know where the beacon is. This is an urgent issue.

The two of you are apt at throwing chaos amongst our foes, and laying traps. The Iron Republic have not sent a large force, but I would wager they have a huge one waiting in the wings. I will, as a distraction, indicate that the Unity will apply overwhelming force to capture this object. With luck, they will reply with the same, and then you can strike. Are you willing to do this?

Beyond this, Axis, we would appreciate if you could use your esoteric information gathering techniques to give us an idea of what happened on the moon itself. In particular, if you could view the past of the moon, we might be able to learn more of what our allies have been up to.

While the bulk of the IR fleet goes out to contend with the “Unity” one, I will have a single camouflaged Nodachi armed with one of my void bombs fly into the remaining ships. There, the void bomb will explode taking out as a good chunk of the IR force. As soon as the blast has finished going off, I will have 10 other Nodachi’s, who have been hiding during this time, attack the enemy that should be distracted by the blast. Let me know what you think thus far.

The Battle of the Moon of Galilie And the Grey Empty RE: High priority encrypted message

Prime

My Uth have investigated the incident with the Moon of Galilie. The Grey used Wormhole drives as they warped in killing everything in sight after using disablers. After which they glassed the planet. The ambush wasn’t tough for the Grey, seems as though they tracked the moon by tracking DNA from a sample they found on a planet the Grey already control call Gellek (I have the location of this planet and am forwarding it to you).

I’ve tried to have further investigation done on the Grey but it appears they have some sort of force field, or energy projectors that remove their vessels from our reality, also removing them from the pull of the stream of consciousness. I wonder if it’s similar to the effect the da’uhnb have where they cannot be tracked by Uth. The Grey memories are choppy and nonsensical yet this information is actionable.

I must say, even though the Grey and their ways are still a mystery, I am intrigued by them. It has been quite some time since I’ve been this excited about an opponent. If we are able to get our hands on their equipment or even a Grey itself I welcome the chance to study it.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Captain Axis,

We would ask you to prepare void bombs in asteroids. As much as I like open fights, it seems we must rely on subterfuge and ambushes in order to take the Grey until we understand how their defenses work. My hope is that once we know where they will strike next, we can prepare mines based on your void tech in order to scrap their ships. In particular, if you could engineer these mines such that they will give us wreckage to examine, this would be ideal.

Prime

How many Void bombs would you need for this operation?

The mines, I must warn, may be tricky. The void bombs work the same as an annihilation wave. May I recomend instead using shards of void metal wrapped arround explosives in the mean time while I try to work on a proper mine as it will take me some time. I have three new types of ships being produced along with void armor but the idea of a void mine is intruging. The void shards would deffanitly leave behind remains unlike the void blast of the bomb design.

That was exactly what we had in mind. Also, it is likely you can make many more of these with the material you have at your disposal. Also, we do not anticipate this will take too much research. After all, you are effectively just making a large pipe bomb with void metal inside. If you have need for additional research capacity, all you need do is ask, and we could likely help speed things along for you.

Captain Axis,

While that technique is valuable, and generally works, I think you need to lure them in. The blow up your own ship attack has been used several times in this massive war, and the time that I used it, two other ships used the same technique as me. If the grey are as intelligent as indicated , a trap must be set. I am going to send you 20 starships for you to use as a lure, so you can implement your plan.
