Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  Admin Fri Mar 25, 2011 7:19 pm

The cloud of silvery nanite clusters and broken vehicle parts and blood has been found to be The Forgotten, a Greater Fiend of Warmonger, known servant of that rogue Ancient Evil who nearly escaped from his prison dimension only six months ago.
Its powers are unknown beyond hurling small waves of lava using gravitic generators and consuming all living matter and vehicles into its Nanoplague body.

It is a giant monster of demonic origins. You can either help it as it launches its attacks on both the Continent of Dead Quall's defenders and at the Continent controlled by Ar'yay HiveQueen Or you can attempt to destroy it and aid either side.

Or if you are truly evil you might just make a deal with it...

This mission is open to all players and factions. Post what specific forces (and numbers of forces) you will be sending against Warmonger's Forgotten, a demonic amalgam of Nanoplague and Unity Graviity Generators and fuelled by the memories of countless dead from the previous battle on both sides. First person to post gets a single repost later. All other players get one post only. This thread will be locked at 11pm E.S.T. on Friday April 1st

Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Re: Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  UnityPrime Fri Mar 25, 2011 8:45 pm

Prime stood before an group one would not expect...Builders.

Builders had heard of the tragedy that befell the connected in the battle against the Quall, and they cried for the finest Builders across Unity space. Their part in this would be simple. As the battle raged, the Builders would support those who fought as a secondary mission.

As a primary, they would use the power of their fervent belief to calm those souls the Forgotten had taken. This, they hoped, would sooth all of those who had been consumed, and would give others the chance to destroy the Forgotten before it could claim any other souls.

Prime watched the builders materialize in a wide circle around the Forgotten, and could hear the keening of their perfect song in contrast to the beast's rages. He would be prepared to protect them against any contingency, and would keep them safe as he could.

Most of my armory and fleet are not equipet to deal with fighting in the Plane of fire, however, i will deploy 5 Nodachi's to the hunt. I will have them fire on it with acid cannons and if needed, act as a destraction so other members of the attack canfinish it off.

Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Re: Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  FieldMarshallStrykker Fri Apr 01, 2011 4:49 am

The blistered sky of Krypos was split by a slash of blackness like an old knife wound. The line twisted and expanded becoming a ragged circle. The portal offered a glimpse of another dark alien sky for a moment until it was obscured by a swarm of gundpods proceeding a battle line of war ships. First the destroyers prowled out of the darkness falling into a screening formation as the larger battleships plunged into the tortured air above the Continent of Dead Quall.
Jeremiah Strykker stood on the bridge of the task force flagship holding on to a handrail which ringed the main fire control station as he looked at the blasted landscape through the main viewer. Activity bustled around him but all he saw was the image depicted in the viewer. The Unity Reclamation Citadels glimmered in the blast furnace light of the plane. A few miles from them the large hemispheres of Quall hives loomed up into the sky like giant obsidian ant hills. Between them sat the target.
The Forgotten of Warmonger.
It reminded him of the dust devils that used to pass through Dusk except that it darkened the sky for miles and had a metallic shine to it. It sat between the two forces occasionally flicking out a tendril of nano-plague or a sudden wave of magma at one side or the other, taunting them to attack, confident in its strength.
“Field Marshall, all ships report ready status as does the Blackheart detachment and the Unity forces.” The captain informed him turning her chair to face him and looking down from her command dais. “The fire mission and air wing are also standing by. We're only waiting for your word, Sir”
“Very good, Captain.” He replied with a nod. “Signal all elements to begin the attack.” It was a good plan he mentally reassured himself. As he watched the leading fighters surge forward he prayed it was good enough.

Six Arc light upgraded gunpods will assist in luring the creature into the target zone. Once it is there twenty hurricane bombers and twenty-five missile pods will enter the area through energy bridges and engage the target with EMP weapons (blessed by Unity builders to be holy). Once they've exhausted their weapons this force will exit through energy bridges back to refuge.

During the bombing two CoG class ships will engage the Forgotten from extreme range using blessed dome buster rounds and every third shot will be a rail ship filled with artifact tiles (worked with Banish). Lastly one Damoclese projectile (Blessed and worked with Banish) will be delivered via energy bridge unto the target. Before each strike a warning will be sent to all allied units so they may take proper cover.

Once the bombing has stopped ten exorcist teams in New Vorick assault shuttles (escorted by the arc light gunpods) will move into finish off the creature with banish and their hellforged weapons. In addition to their standard gear their armor will be upgraded to keep out any lingering nano plague (sealed joints full sealed helmets artifaced with give breath).

Once the creature has been removed from this dimension all EEF forces will withdraw from Krypos.

During the attack a security cordon will be established. This will consist of 300 regular EEF troopers 10 Oni and Goliath teams, two strider groups as well as two CoG class ships, two Kalvara class ships five Dusk class ships, 50 gunpods and 25 H/K drones. This force will ensure that nothing enters the trap except the forgotten and will only move into position once its in the trap.

Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Re: Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  Ar'yayhivequeen Fri Apr 01, 2011 5:21 am

Urguthi snaped his jaws at the flurry of action going on in front of him. Standing at almost seven feet with red fur patched with scales he was a fearsome being. A Pit Mongrel of the Quall N'Drone, ready to give his life for his masters.

EEF and Unity aircraft assaulted the Demonic being known as the Forgotten in a frenzy of assaults, flinching unconsciously from the explosions that were too far to actually harm him. While Urguthi he couldn't see the action he could smell it all. Each of the vessels while moving fast flowed through his nostrils and he could hear them buzzing around. He didn't like this but he had his orders, the Quall N'Drone weren't happy when their orders weren't followed. The worst was the smell of the Demon, the mix of sulfur and metal was unnatural even by Urguthi's standards. He clenched his incinerate rifle tightly waiting for the signal to move in after the bombing ended. Thanks to the boots given to him by the masters he stood comfortably upon the lava's surface, the win shifted and he caught the scent of the Horned Dog priests moving past his forces their worked weapons carved with holy symbols that were suppose to harm this creature. Urguthi bowed his head as they passed by, the Human leading them reinerated that his force was to wait until the creature was weakened and to only come in if they failed. Urguthi nodded his head meekly, these being held future generations of the masters within them, they were to be respected.

He then felt the shift in the lava as the Obsidian Drill subs passed by him, they were going to drill benieth the island and deposit the main Horned Dog assault force, over two hundred Horned Dogs were going to cut their way forward until they reached an area right under where the battle was taking place and then begin to work. They would consecrate the area to the glory of the Quall N'Drone, make the site holy, hopefully that would weaken the creature in addition to the attacks from above. The cultists with Urguthi would attack when the EEF ground force did as to combine their efforts. Urguthi was back up, his force of 1,000 Pit Mongrels were to burn the area where the Demon fell, he was also there to attempt to incinerate the rapidly growing fungus if he could. There was a single Quall N'Drone with him, even without sight he could feel the master's eyes upon him. In the master's presence there was no pain, there was no fear. His mission would be accomplished even if he had to die for it to happen.
If the Fungus was resistant to their weapons they would retreat to formulate a new plan. He could smell the fungus too, disgusting, wouldn't be hard to find after the battle.
Urguthi snapped his jaws again, the bombardment was starting to ease up, soon the ground battle would begin, he gripped his rifle tighter, the real fight was starting. Soon he may give his life for the masters, soon, the Forgotten will be a distant memory and the purity of flame shall engulf this land the way it should all lands.

Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Re: Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  Lions of Earth Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:00 pm

General Wulfrum paced his command ship angrily. This is the final plan? he questioned seething with rage. He had made sure to go to great pains that this fiend could not escape. As he stared at the order of jumps he counted 50 energy bridges. He knew it would escape to known space but their was no reason to lodge a complaint. Then he would look like he was collaborating with the enemy for seeing the obvious.

Instead he set the freighter down several kilometers away. His lions expertly moved out and established a large landing zone quickly blasting the area flat and securing the area.

There would be numerous downed pilots and crew members. His noble lions were setting up the field hospital to triage them. They were in sealed space suits and a blessed EMP warhead from Strykker was in the center as a final defense, or going away present.

Just in case General Vulfrum stood ready with the punishment of the left hand, as well having the command ship ready to jump should warmonger's forgotten decide to ravage the hospital.

Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Re: Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  blackheartsecurity Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:10 pm

Childeen wondered why he bothered with EEF Beuracracy. The final plan left his corporation without a defined role. He was still hired though and would be going along for the ride.

A quick and brutally sarcastic meeting with General Vulfrum established the new plan.

His people would be in charge of rescuing any downed EEF pilots and crew members. They wouldn't engage the monster itself, they would use plasma weapons to blast any nanite clouds away from them and pull the pilots out quickly.

He would be test running a new vehicle for his fleet. He had loaded five experimental Nighthawks along with crews. The medical suite wasn't ready, which meant the field hospital needed to be near by. Nanoplague testing equipment and sealed quarantine tents were also loaded on board. His doctors were in Hazmat suits and would be testing for signs of the plague as they treated injuries.

His people would be tested when they left. Luckily the EEF bureaucracy had already set aside the quarantine site an abandoned lead mining asteroid.

This was going to be a mess from what Vulfrum told him. His people were on a short leash, abandon all equipment and get on board the freighter if the alert went out.

Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Re: Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  MichaelHerbertGilmour Sat Apr 02, 2011 12:13 am

Michael really couldn't care all that much less about the Forgotten. He could see a wide variety of reasons why nothing should be done to deal with it, and only a few to explain why they should leverage any real firepower against it. However, it was not his call. He was not asked to participate, and he saw no reason to interfere. With any luck, it would further distract everyone from slightly more important goals.

Michael continues to monitor the growth of his newest creation. It seemed to have spread with shocking speed, and already its spores should be in the air, making direct action against it fairly useless. Even if every last bit of it on the ground was annihilated, it should be able to regrow from circulating biomatter. However, he was still very curious to see if the Quall would even be able to inflict significant damage to it with their undoubtedly heat-based weapons. It's exact temperature tolerances were currently unknown, as were the capabilities of the quall themselves. No matter the result, this would provide him with a wealth of data... and with almost no risk due to the timing.

What a day to be a Scientist.

Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten Empty Re: Week 1 Hunt: The Forgotten

Post  GeneralGarminFe Sat Apr 02, 2011 2:56 am

Garmin Fe breathed in the air of the alien atmosphere. Already he feels he has spent a lifetime here. The weight of his Dra'koon armor was made heavier from the exhausting temperatures. The orders were given. Now all he had to do done was the hard part. He sparred all but a few noble apprentices and himself for the task at hand. He looked down at the field of battle as the fiend was drawn away, Garmin prayed. Down below him was the scarred terrain of millions of dead warriors. Here he would make amends. He leaped in to the pod and was shot to the surface from his personal freighter. Along with him came 6 other Recognized warriors and 7 gold Nephilim war giants, specially made for this mission.

The crash of the crafts upon rock could not be heard over the sound of the battle in the distance. The fiend had already been engaged, Garmin must hurry. As the light layas began to ebb and flow from both his allies and foes, the glow from the golden giants began to get brighter and brighter, feeding off the layas being projected. Garmin hurried to a shattered five-sided crystal spike driven into the ground nearby. Clambering over the dead that lay before him. He worked rigorously as he dismantled transparent components that were unseen until moved. Only one with intimate knowledge of the device could do this with such ease.

His own men set off to do the same and established a perimeter as they went. As the technomancers did what they could to nullify the hearts, the golden giants amplified the light layas energies to quell the memories it released. As each memory was quelled, a mark upon the giants would appear. They would become walking reminders of the atrocities witnessed by these brave souls. Should they survive the encounter, Garmin would dub them the Remembered and choose never to unleash such horror again.

[The mists from the Continent of Dead Quall will be lifted until the battle is over. As this goes on, several squads of Recognized will accompany the Builders to protect them with blessed Luminous Wards and Mass Defenders. Other technomancers will be on hand to dismantle the technological components that make up the fiend.]

Post  UnityPrime Sat Apr 02, 2011 2:59 am

The Builders looked upon their true foe, a servent of Warmonger. They looked upon the deplorable battle that would take place, and it was enough to make them weep, and so they did as they must.

They sang.

Their song echoed over the battlefield, and touched all participants. One thousand builders, as one, thrust their wish for peace into the air like the weapons of the unenlightened. They would happily die forever to bring peace to this deamon and the souls it caught.

If things go badly, they will perish in the name of stopping Warmonger happily.

Other Builders will sing a different song, a song of creation. A lullaby to welcome the new Choir into the Unity.
