Week 4 Planetary Insurrection Mission- The Fleet at Cepheus Empty Week 4 Planetary Insurrection Mission- The Fleet at Cepheus

Post  Admin Sun May 08, 2011 11:19 pm

A Warmonger Cult Fleet has been spotted deep within Fort Lendill space. It appears to be surveying the defenses. The fleet consists of five Banking Guild Heavy Frigates with a crew of Warmonger's Dead Spacers, 250 Bio-Organic Gunpod Starfighters, and ten Mirror Ship Starfighter/bombers.

Its commander is unknown. This Captain X is leading what could be a devastating force against both military and civilian targets.

They are hiding in the asteroid belt on the edge of Cepheus Gamma 2. If allowed to stay they will begin raising cultist armies in nearby colonies.

This mission is open to All Players.
Fort Lendill Players get homebase advantage.

Post your plan to this mission on either the defenders or attacker's side here on this thread only. First person to post gets a single extra repost later to launch secret attacks, ambushes etc. All other players get one post only. This thread will be locked at 11pm E.S.T. on Friday May 13th. Only actions listed on this mission thread will count as locked in for player actions.

You are encouraged to set up threads in your own factions to discuss this matter.

-CODED WARNING TO THE EEF, FT. LENDIL, TRILAT AND IRON REPUBLIC COMMANDERS-

Warmonger fleet detected. Purification immanent. All allied forces wait for the all-clear before entering this battle space. All-Clear in T-minus 5 minutes.

The Purifier will be deployed against the fleet for no more than 5 minutes before gating away from the engagement. The pilots will be protected by cocoons crafted by the Purifier's own body to prevent the Emissaries by being attacked by Screamers. Then a standard Unity fleet will be deployed to continue the fight.

Once the All Clear timer is done, or 6 minutes into the battle (one minute after the all clear)

I will open an energy bridge on the opposite side of the planet that the Purifier is appearing (don't want to deal with any remaining debris or gift the purifier might leave behind) And two of my Motherships "Burning Onslaught" and "Flaming Justice" shall launch their fighters through the portal along with 300 Neo Flayer Fighters. The IR fighters shall use their EMP missiles to attempt to disable the Heavy Frigates then they will retreat. The Neo Flayer fighters shall make one or two runs against enemy starfighters and bombers and then follow the IR fighters back through the energy bridge. The mother ships shall fire their dome busters through the energy bridge at the Heavy frigates. Once the fighters are safely back through the energy bridge it shall close. 50 Airship shall be on the Kyrpos side of the energy bridge to lay down a barrage of fire at anyone attempting to cross it that isn't one of my ships.

once the energy bridge is closed the operation will finish. The other factions will be responsible for cleaning up the remaining enemy.

After all clear or t + 15, 300 starfighters, of the I.R. Chaos Starfighter variety will shadow jump in followed by a single Horn-Class starship. The Horn will provide support fire, targeting clusters of Starfighters with its cannon.
The I.R. Chaos starfighters were to spread out and fill the space with an assortment of Plasma Missiles to force the asteroids into a cascade effect that should crush the Warmonger cultists.

Anyone who escapes gets pelted with Mach Cannons, Plasma Missiles and Acid Missiles. Then they will capture any ejected pilots for later interrogation.

Red-Alpha: "It's a trap."
Black-Gamma: "What do you mean it's a trap?"
Red-Alpha: "Think about it. In no other world would anyone utilize a fleet of 5 capitol ships, much less hundreds of starfighters, TO SURVEY A SYSTEM! All recon everywhere is covert!"
Black-Gamma: "So... it's a trap?"
Red-Alpha: "Yes."
Black-Gamma: "But if it's trap, and everyone knows it's a trap, why are we here?"
Red-Alpha: "Cause the Unity sent in the Purifier."
Black-Gamma: "So."
Red-Alpha: "Listen, the Unity is a collective body that acts on consensus. Warmonger is seen as a threat to the populace, so much so that they will always throw their full weight against it. So when a fleet shows up and Warmonger is mentioned, the emotional response from Unity is to squash it without thinking."
Black-Gamma: "We're not actually going near the Purifier? I mean, the commander was just kidding."
Red-Alpha: "Haven't you heard what I said, it's a trap! And, since it's a trap, we are going to meet with the purifier and save it should it need saving."
Black-Gamma: "...This is not a good day."

[2 fleets will engage in this conflict plus 1 team of covert fighters.
-The first fleet will wait for the all clear and commence combat with any remaining enemy forces. The fleet is made of 5 Arcturus Warships, 100 Sagitae (split into 10 squads of 10 for maximum firepower), and 150 Jotun.
-The second fleet will wait for the all clear and make there way to where the Purifier fled to. It will be comprised of 5 Arcturus Warships, 100 Sagitae (split into 10 squads of 10 for maximum firepower), and 250 Jotun. The fleet will hope that hostile protocols will be disengaged when they get there. There objective will be to eliminate all traces of enemy units around, on, or within the Purifier. 10 boarding parties of 24 Recognized will be on hand (2 to each capitol ship) to investigate breaches first, and board enemy vessels second.
-Lastly, 20 additional Jotuns will be obscured and modified to meet Beacon City protocols for engaging the Purifier's sphere of influence. The data for these protocols were abstracted from Unity Dreadnaught IVI 717, which witnessed the Purifier's last conflict. Their objective is to observe the conflict between the enemy fleet and the Purifier after it has had 1 minute of engagement. They are to follow the Purifier as it leaves the field of battle and transmit its coordinates if they do not match the predetermined rendezvous.
-All capitol ships will have 4 recognized with savior shards. The boarding parties will supply an additional 2 savior shards per.]

Fifty Da'uhnb will be sent in Cudgel Bombers. Each of the Bombers will have a pilot and co-pilot. They will find the Mirror ships, but instead of attacking them, fly alongside them.
Then the co-pilot will teleport onboard, slaughter Warmonger Cultist crew, and attempt to steal the mirror ships and whatever type of bombs they have.

If any have any really good bombs (blackhole, wormhole, clean bombs, or any variation on Nukes) they will be claimed by the Temporal Empire and brought back to a safe place for testing.

Regular mirror ships will be turned back on their own capital ships.

Ryuk had heard of this purifier, and wished to see it in action. It seemed that this would be unpleasant though. Ryuk will come with his flagship, a kansanthian missile ship, and 100 star fighters. Upon arrival , Ryuk sends a message to The TRILAT "I am here primarily to watch, but if you need me to do something let me know".

Week 4 Planetary Insurrection Mission- The Fleet at Cepheus Empty Re: Week 4 Planetary Insurrection Mission- The Fleet at Cepheus

Post  FieldMarshallStrykker Fri May 13, 2011 10:09 pm

Captain Dewer glanced at the clock as his pilots entered the briefing room. He raised a remote and the screen behind him flickered to life the lights faded. A map of the Cepheus system for a moment before zooming in to show the estimated positions of the enemy fleet. A general muttering at the number of enemy fighters filled room.
"I know thats a busy piece of real estate," Dewer said to them. "Command thinks this is a recon in force Warmonger cultists aren't known for being subtle after all. If you ask me they didn't bring that much hardware just because they can. Luckily someone up top agrees with me. So we're playing this one pretty safe. Unity wants the first shot and we're letting them have it and hopefully spring the trap if there is one. Once they signal the all clear from their run we move in.

Wave 1: 10 Catspaw and 10 Fire ship drones will shadow jump into the system among the heavy frigate. The fire ships will pair off and two will attack each ship. One of each pair will have an EMP charge while the other will carry a plasma breaching charge primary target is the bridge. The catspaw drones will start to look for the mirror ships and any sign of WMDs they may be carrying. If a drone finds a ship it will mark its position to all other ships and tag them as primary targets. Note that if this phase springs a trap the rest of the plan will be stopped and the fleet will withdraw back to Refuge.

Wave 2: (Task Force Sniper) A group of four kalino class missile ships screened by four dusk class destroyers will transit into the system and engage the enemy fighter groups as long range with Reaper, EMP and Anti-fighter missiles. The destroyers and their drones will engage and destroy any fighters that get to close. This group will use micro shadow jumps to keep the fighters are optimal range and to avoid being overwhelmed.

Wave 3: (Task Force Sweeper) Once the fighters have been reduced to a more manageable number (175 or less) two carriers and a City of the Gods class will jump in system. The CoG will join with Sniper and engage the Heavy frigates with Anti-ship missiles and dome buster fire to finish them off. The carriers will launch all fighters and drones and jump back out. The fighter wings will engage the remaining fighters working in concert with Unity, IR and Quall forces to do so. Once the enemy is destroyed the carriers will return and pick up their fighters and the fleet will depart for home.

Should evac from the system be needed (in the face of a blackhole bomb or similar WMD) any ship that confirms the presences of such weapons will transmit a general warning and all capable ships will shadow jump to the plane of awareness energy bridges will be opened in predetermined locations in the systems and all able fighters will disengage and withdraw through them. They will be kept open for as long as possible but will be closed before the entire fleet is placed at risk.

Prime smiled from his position on the station. With luck, the Warmonger would fall for his trap.

The Purifier is a deadly foe, with a REMARKABLY simple weakness; screamers cannot enter a ship that is chill shielded. Of course there would be annihilation weaponry used, perhaps Ziggurats. Prime knew well how to deal with those.

5 Dreadnaughts and 350 Saggitae will enter the battle via the Plane of Shadow. The Dreadnaughts will be chill-shielded, which will prevent the screamers from entering the vessels. Further, their grapple lines will be tipped with Zela. During the course of the Purifier engagement, Dreadnaughts will dart in and out of reality, using their quick scanning and calculation capacity to determine the state of the battle, an d to look for Ziggurats. Ziggurats will be targeted, dragged into the plane of shadow while attacked to zela grappling hooks, and torn to shreds by Saggitae.
