The Defense of Druzi Empty The Defense of Druzi

Post  Admin Sun Mar 06, 2011 7:10 pm

This thread is for Independent Corporation players to discuss further attentions paid to the colony closest to the Temporal Wormhole. Its defense is sorely lacking, and there is the matter of over 100 Kasanthian Vampire agents, both Drakuls, Nosferatu and Mortis Plague Vampires are running loose in the Fire Dome City.
There is also the matter of the strange seismic readings coming from the Moon of Druzi 2

The Defense of Druzi Empty Blackheart Plan of Action

Post  blackheartsecurity Sun Mar 06, 2011 7:59 pm

I hate plague Vampires and I am realizing right now how good I had it the last time I had to deal with one.

Heres what we can expect:
-Contagious and deadly diseases spreading like wildfire. The more that get infected the more powerful the vampires get.
-Expect the regular vampires to start organizing an insurrection and possibly start building their own little hordes.
-X factor, something completely unexpected that will send us scrambling to staunch areterial bleeding somehow. Guarantee its coming just don't know what yet.

I am bringing in extra security contractors including cycling out some who dealt with the plague vampire incident I was involved in. They will be training up and assisting some parts of the local security forces in proper vampire hunting techniques.

I am making a call to a medical NGO I have worked with in the past to see if they are willing to help prevent the Plague Vampires spreading all sorts of nasty.

Next thing I am going to suggest that Irene crank the internal Dome lighting up to a spectrum and level that will make it a bad day for any cursed. I myself will be departing if she agrees.

That's all I have at the moment. I am well aware that the dome is still completely defenseless but I'm stuck pissing out fires. Oh and until we can get rid of our infestation we can't evacuate anything besides our own people. Welcome to the suck.

The Defense of Druzi Empty History can't be wrong, can it?

Post  TerraNovaIndustries Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:44 pm

Terra Nova Industries has performed a multi-variable data meta-search and has found several instances of plagues and viral agents being used in fortified cities.

While in most instances the population was reduced drastically there are a few cases that may help Fire Dome City. In all of the successful cases the cities in question were divided by walls into subsections or quarters and only when no new illnesses were detected in a section and at least one of its adjacent sections could citizens start to move freely. In the case of Fire Dome City this would allow Blackheart Security forces to keep TRILAT agents from moving easily around the city and might make finding and eliminating them easier.

Terra Nova Industries also has found multiple references to pre-nanite and leyas illnesses being contained by the early intervention of doctors, scientists or local herbalists. In the case of Fire Dome City, Terra Nova Industries believes that some of the EEF's more... specialized soldiers might be of use. Terra Nova Industries research has uncovered two specific EEF-types who may be exactly what Fire Dome City needs. The first are EEF Specialists that are focused on fighting arcane and demonic forces. The second belong to an organization within the EEF called V.L.A.D., and specialize in hunting the undead. Unfortunately, Terra Nova Industries has no diplomatic or public relations divisions so it can not make any suggestions as how to approach and entreat the EEF for assistance.

Joyous wishes,

The Defense of Druzi Empty Re: The Defense of Druzi

Post  blackheartsecurity Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:32 pm

We will try for martial law and to get the environmental control systems up to a standard where they can block and hopefully let us know where diseases are spreading. The security forces may not be up to this task. They are new at this and dirty words like corruption may come to determine the quarantines effectiveness.

I'm going to need a load of holy symbols of various sort. The real deal, stuff from the city of Gods. Get those bouncing around the population as jewelry or as vampire deterrent. It doesn't matter, we just need to limit their ability to operate.

The IR won't take very kindly to EEF special forces running around overtly on its colonies. By the same coin the EEF isn't going to send out its forces based on altruism alone. But I get your point we will need real Vampire hunters to have an chance at success.

That being said I am subcontracting out the hunt to a group called the Scarlet Hammers. They all have Tarisian paperwork and Blackheart work visa's so the IR can grumble but its all by the books.

Who knows if they do a good job and want to continue to see the stars and other colonies report vampiric infestations I may keep them on as a permanent addition.

The Defense of Druzi Empty Business Relations and other questions

Post  MaehlHoldings Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:29 pm

All,

Questions:
1) Should I return all the evacuated individuals?
2) To what extent is it safe and possible to resume regular business and trade? If so, what precautions do I need to make for the purpose of security?

Blackeart Securities:
I may have a connection or two in the EEF that I may be able to utilize to fulfill Clement's idea of "special" assistance. How, if at all, do you want me to utilize this connection to your benefit?

This whole situation is most unfortunate. We almost managed a diplomatic resolution to this issue. I wish I could point the finger at someone to blame, but I'm not sure there is a finger to point. Also, where the hell did that Mail Shuttle come from?!?!

As an aside, I agree with Childeen, the Iron Republic declared this as a victory, but anything other than non-violence is really a defeat. On the diplomatic front, I will continue to do my best to restore what we can with all parties. I'm not sure what there may be left to salvage...

Your efforts, my peers, are reassuring and hopefully, together, we can truly turn what is now vinegar back into wine.

Yours sincerely,
Su

People evacuated before the Vampires got loose are fine and shouldn't be returned UNLESS they want to aid in its defense and able to. In which case we can set up a temporary dome outside the city to give them some quick training. Most however are far safer off planet.

Until we know the extent of the infestation trade may have to be broken.

As for the EEF, if you have the juice to get them then go for we could certainly use their assistance. We need Chaplains trained to fight vampires, the more the better. I have no idea who the VLAD is that Clemente was talking about but if they are any good we could use them too.

Our ability to influence things diplomatically may have just come to an end. The IR and K-Fed are going to duke this one out how they see fit. Our ability to influence was only good when the colony was below the radar.

Good luck to everyone.

The Defense of Druzi Empty Re: The Defense of Druzi

Post  Ar'yayhivequeen Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:25 am

Greetings defenders of Druzi Prime, first off let me complement you on your valiant efforts on behalf of the colony truly an impressive defense. It is sad that the Trilat continues to make your lives difficult. I wish to aid you in your defense however most of my military assets are currently occupied.
However I can still help you, I am going to be sending over a Star Freighter full of members of the Church of the Horned Dog, they shall bring food, blankets and medical supplies to aid those still within the city. They shall take control over a large complex, say a warehouse or a stadium and use it as a headquarters and a place where people can come to seek refuge. My Horned Dog priests are trained in self defense and will give lessons to any people who wish to learn from them they will also be on hand for the local populous' spiritual needs as well. We shall teach and we shall protect. There shall be of course no charge for these services as the Horned Dog are here to help people within the Iron Republic's sphere of influence. The Star Freighter can be used to help ferry people into the location where the Horned Dog priests shall operate under.

We must work together to get through this trying time.

The Defense of Druzi Empty Re: The Defense of Druzi

Post  CasablancaStation Wed Mar 09, 2011 1:01 pm

Good Morning all,

First, a wonderful job at the defense of Fire Dome City. We really pushed the envelope there. I am proud that though we are not some multibillion person government body we were able to stand up to the Kasanthians.

Second, I happen to know some people on my security forces that fought in the border wars. They are well trained at dealing with these vampires and may very well be able to lend some internal assistance to the external subcontractors.

Third, as benevolent and charitable as it is, I do not think bringing the Church of the Horned Dog in to solve the problems will benefit anyone at this juncture. A few missionaries are fine. An entire star freighter seems a bit, well pardon the turn of phrase but over kill.

I will of course bend to Blackhearts lead on this as this entire operation has been headed by you three and I have only been lending superfluous support. I will certainly lend my best men to make sure the vampiric threat is dealt with.

Administrator Stewart

I wish to assure you that the Star Freighter that is being sent is mostly filled with food, water, and medical supplies for the poor citizens of Druzi Prime. There are no more then several dozen Horned Dog priests there to distribute the supplies and defend the distribution facility. They shall stay within the facility at all times unless their aid is requested.
They are going to be there as purely a charitable exchange as that is their purpose, to help those in need and to spread their love and faith. They will create a location where the foul shadow cannot enter and thus the people who come there for refuge will be safe.
The actual dealing with the vampires shall be all of your responsibility, we are just here to keep the people safe and leave the fighting to you.

The Defense of Druzi Empty the colonist B.A.

Post  blackheartsecurity Wed Mar 09, 2011 11:16 pm

honored Hive Queen (I hope that is the correct honors and title for you),
I am honored and extremely thankful for the support you have offered. The situation in the Domes is volatile however and before committing your missionaries to the task there are two things you should know.

-Due to Quarantine procedures locking down infected sectors the missionaries will have to work in facilities where the most violence and disease is to do the most good. The Planetary Governor can make facilities available in the sectors.

-Our security forces (Including my contractors) are already stretched thin trying to maintain order and combat the Vampiric threat. Your missionaries will have to be able to defend themselves and be self sufficient. The government has a number of hover trucks available and we can rapidly emblazon them with the Cult of the Horned Dog emblem, it would also be wise to have the Brethren powered armor be emblazoned with the same (To ensure no harassment by security forces) however If you could have a platoon to troop sized element of brethren accompany the missionaries to help collect and escort the needy and defend the location then it will lessen the burden on the planets organic security forces (Given the small size of the Brethren element involved I hope this isn't too much trouble)

If the conditions make it to dangerous for your missionaries to participate then I completely understand. However if they are still willing to give aid in Fire Dome City and can supply their own security then they are more than welcome.

Either way you have deepest thanks for your consideration of the people of Fire Dome City.

Very Respectfully,
Childeen Blackheart

Duncan,
I can't turn down the Hive Queen's request. It would be a huge political faux pas and we need the all the help we can get anyway.

What forces do you have contact with? If you want to negotiate a deal for them to come and clear out the dome then I am more than happy to write them in as subcontractors. Currently I am attempting to get the aid of some Scarlet Hammers. They are also renowned vampire hunters. Whether or not i can is the question. I also have not heard from Maehl about whether he has the juice to bring in other forces as well.

I'm sorry to have to override you on this one but we can't afford to have the IR throw us to the wolves over a breach of etiquette.

V/R,
Childeen

The Defense of Druzi Empty EEF Meeting

Post  MaehlHoldings Thu Mar 10, 2011 12:29 pm

Blackheart,

I got us a meeting with an EEF Admiral. Unfortunately, she doesn't do telecon, holocon, or anything other than in person. She insists on lunch, and thus as a courtesy I will provide the same. It'll probably take a couple of days or so to and from, if you can spare it. The negotiations and requests, however, will all fall on your shoulders. I'm merely a broker, working on your behalf. You know the threat, what it at stake, and how things need to be handled. Plus, security is your gig, not mine.

Let me know if you're free, and I'll make the proper arrangements.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Blackheart

My missionaries are quite aware of the dangers and understand that violence and disease is a threat, yet it is their duty to go to where they are needed and help. If the Governor can provide a facility that would be greatly appreciated as it would make everyone's lives easier.
At this time this is a private mission of mercy not a sanctioned one by the Iron Republic as such we will not have any Brethren with us. We have been informed that the colony is using your company for defense and as such no Iron Republic security can be sent to protect us. This is fine with us as all church of the Horned Dog priests are given self defense training as we understand that not all threats in the universe respect missions of mercy. They will all be carrying holy emblems to show that their faith will keep the darkness at bay. They will lay down their lives if necessary to protect those under their care.

I want to congratulate Blackheart Industries for their brilliant defense of Fire Dome city. These Kasanthian terrorists have been exposed for what they are, vile parasites creating undead slaves to cause havok and suffering to all who don't swear allegiance to them.
This won't end with the elimination of their vampire gangs, oh no, they will continue to make attempts to enslave this world and other worlds like it.
Are there any suggestion as to how we can better prepare this city's defenses in the future? My humanitarian efforts will continue but like i have previously mentioned I am banned from sending any military units to assist and the Brethren presence is purely to create a perimeter it seems.
