Ryuk has his men and the hackers revived, he gave slight praise for
gathering the information he needed. Your training is going well for
you to be able to do that after a week. Next time, keep from
celebrating until after the mission is done though. Anyway, we are
having a general meeting in 15 minuets, you should go and get into
formation.

At this meeting, Ryuk states "Greetings all, I hope your training is
going well. I have seen how cooperation between you guys have been
going, and have realized that we need a better way to communicate. I
have built a device that, once implanted, will allow you to
communicate with team members with out speaking. It will also allow
your teammates at a distance, which will become more useful.
Recently, a few of you were sent out on a mission, to retrive
information about a missing person. The mission was a success, and I
congradulate you for a job well done. Unfortinately, the running back
and forth for the scouts lead to the unforitnate deaths of the people
involved in the missio . *raises hand* don't worry , they have been
revived, we did it with Leyas. As I was saying, with these devices,
the mission would have gone more smoothly with the instanteous
communitcation you would have. As such, we will be equiping you with
these over the next few days.

On another note, I am finding out more about each of you and your
diverse histories, I found some of you come from groups that became
leaderless through this long drawn out battle. I know some of you
have aquaintences and friends that are also lost, and need something
to help support themselves. Pass the word along, that we are willing
to accept new recruits at any time, and they are free to come and
join.

If you have any questions let me know, and I will answer them the best I can. "

be given a communication device, and this will also join you to the Unity.

that it is installed in Loyal to LT Ryuk (it doesn't preclude other loyalties but
the loyalty to Ryuk comes first.

A group of 500 prisoners have refused the uplink. They are being led by 20 of Ryuk's Rabble who have also refused the uplink.

Their leader has said the following,

"Ryuk
I am Jorvin Dulk and I am being told that you want to put something in our heads? I may not speak for everyone but I know at least some people here will not accept that. We may not be the most elite of warriors here but we joined with you to earn cash and crack some skulls because those are the two things we enjoy the most. We are not part of your Unity pals we aren't going to be implanted by anything of yours. Now if you want to give us head set radios or ear piece radios then yeah that will be fine and we can communicate through those. However I will not have you cut my head open and stick some kind of weird technomatic device in there. The men that came with me are of the same mind, if you insist upon this we shall leave.
We came to your casino because you welcome all, no discrimination all are free to gamble and make or lose their fortune. We joined you little fighting group to earn some extra cash to gamble here as well but not to be hooked up to those Unity freaks.
So my 20 guys are gone unless you change your mind, you may not care about so few men but that is the way we feel."

Jorvin Dulk,

I did not mean to offend, and every person is important to me. every person has a unique set of skills, and I wish to be able to employ all of them, and help them grow. This seemed like the best idea to make you into more of an elite group. Now, as you have made this decision, I will not force you twenty to take the implant on. Perhaps in time you will wish for it yourselves, when you the benefits of having one.

I would like to know, what specifically bothers you about having an uplink? I know there are several of you, but please act as a leader and compile a list of all complaints and concerns. You have taken up the mantle of being a leader of this group, and you should keep your subordinates protected, so please have no names of who asked the questions.

Jorvin Dulk steps forward straightens out his mildly wrinkled clothing and begins "Look Mr Ryuk, the boys and I like you, we do, and we do appreciate you training us, and all. In fact one of my boys managed to get a lucky hit on one of them EEF guys, Malif over there (Malif waves) yeah we see you Mal, you can quit wavin now.

Anyway the boys and I have talked about this and we were rememberin a time when we were having a discussion with a few of them Unity boys.....alright maybe it was a bar fight but we did speak to them a bit before the fight started and they droned on and on about the "glory of the Unity and how wonderful the consensus was" something another. They talked about how they talked with their minds how they could get thoughts from other members of their little Unity and all that sharing hippy shit. They also mentioned that if they died their memories would be stored in that Unity thing forever. Now that is just damn creepy if you ask me. I don't want no body knowing what I am thinking, and when I am dead well god damn I don't want nobody keeping my memories in some computer thingie.
Besides we don't like the idea of having some computer thingie inside our heads, we are real people here no robot parts in any of us....well cept for Larry over there he got a mechanical finger. He was a bit too liberal with flippin folks off and well, lets just say that some folks don't like to be flipped off none.

Maybe you are right and maybe in the future when we see what it does for yall, maybe we will change our minds. But as for right now, we just don't feel comfortable about sticking some machine into our heads. So for now, we would really appreciate it if you would just let us use communicators that stay outside our bodies.
We do want to keep workin for ya, so if we can while not gettin no machine inside of us then we will be proud to fight for you. You pay well and that bar has a bartender who can make a mean Mai Tai. We hope he will let us back in after that last little brawl, we are almost done payin for the damages, I say that a few broken tables adds some character but if it is either pay for repairs or don't come back, well I guess we can spare a few credits.

Jorvin Dulk,

I will not force you to do this, but I do want to clear up some misconceptions. Everyone in the Unity is an individual, and as such, some are more prideful about belonging to it than others. You probably met some overly bolsterer and prideful members. You can share thoughts, although this isn't mandated, you can listen to thoughts that other people broad cast too. You can send messages to specific people in the Unity, as a private conversation. The Unity does record memories, but only the ones that are shared, there is a major misconception here, in that every memory you have is automatically shared. Most of use do, as it enhances the knowledge of everyone and in that it kind of makes us immortal. If we die, a new body could be grown or cloned, and our memories loaded into the new body. This is very similar to people being ressurected with leyas, just with the leyas acting like the Unity uplink in this regard.

Does this help you with your understanding of the Unity? Are there more questions or concerns that you have? Ask, as unanswered questions have a tendency to create discontent, and I want you all to feel at ease.

We are grateful that you are understanding our position, we didn't want to have to leave here. As long as you continue to respect our beliefs and opinions we will be happy to to fight for ya. Maybe in the future we might be more open to these Unity technology, if we become more comfortable with it we will let you know. Until then, give me a good old fashioned radio.
