Week 2 Hunt: Neutron Nancy Hovertank and the NBombs (Mercs4Hire vs TRILAT)

The Contract had been clear, and the team read the message again, scrubbed of course for any incriminating name. Didn’t pay to tell the name of the hiring agent.

“You got style and ill pay a premium for that. I got a prototype tank. It's got hover engines and is designed for orbital drops. Of course you're thinking shit [NAME DELETED] they've had drop tanks since before the IR started cloning brethren.

What makes this tank special is the cannon and the shells. [CONFIDENTIAL] I originally was going to try Neutron bombs. Lots of rads but keeps the buildings intact.
Didn't use them cause at the time it was easier to [CONFIDENTIAL] for me.

But I had all these Nbomb warheads. Converted them into artillery shells. And the Neutron Dancer is just the drop tank to use them close range while keeping the crew safe. But I don't know how the rads will affect Nightmares.
My agents have found the perfect test site. It's codename: Operation Atomic Annie. It's a world only inhabited by Nightmares and Undead. The mission would be simple.

Take the tank for a test drive, test out the vehicle. Then use the five NBomb shells provided on the Nightmare pit, the Yrs Starfighter bay, and the two Giant Nightmares carrying orbital plasma cannons.

Then get the tank offworld before they call for backup.”

The Merc team was already loaded into the tank, and in the hold of a freighter. It was dropped into the atmosphere and its counter jets fired off, allowing it to come to slow stop above the ground of the forested planet. Nykosa V, was a beautiful if primitive looking place. The tank began riding forward on its hover engines, with the sun just beginning to go down.

“Hey Boss is that a Dome City?” asked the newest recruit.

“You got that right, so this planet is in habited. I wonder if our hiring agent knew that,” said Voora as he checked the seals on his radiation suit, then he checked the last page of the document showing the change in venue and the additional payments, and details on the Megadome, “Hahaha, seems that dome thinks there is a set of irradiated meteorites that are going to be striking all week. So they sealed the armored dome, they wouldn’t feel a nuke if we lobbed it right into that Dome wall. They’ll be fine. If for the last three thousand years, Domes have kept people safe from nuclear attacks, those citizens will be fine.”

Voora took a look forward through the viewer of the Neutron Dancer, “Though boys, I think we need to think up a better name for her.)

He could see the sun dip below the horizon, and then the eyes began to peak out in glowing red blue and green in the twilight.
“We have sight on the Nightmare Pit sir,” said the driver.

This mission is open to Mercs4Hire and TRILAT Only.
Mercs4Hire has to test the cannon on the Nightmare pit, without getting overrun. Then they have to test the cannon on the Yrs Starfighter field before the starfighters take off.
Then test the cannon on the two Giant Nightmares with Plasma cannons.
It must be a double layered plan, with a primary plan, then a backup if the Nbomb does not work as expected for each of the 3 targets.

The Trilat wants to capture the tank or destroy it.

Mission specific personnel:
Voora, a light leyas using crewman, three shadow leyas using crewmen. This is the same team as from the infiltration of the Fort Lendil craft. They are in the Neutron Nancy.

On station, in the Mary Jane are three more fire teams. Two are in Cudgel Drop Pods. The MJ is loitering over the south pole using its ECM, Stealth and the planets magnetic field to remain hidden.

Equipment: Similar to previous op. Rounds have been artificed to light leyas as opposed to chill. The Neutron Nancy is the primary piece of equipment.

Review on initial inspection of the NN. There is a severe lack of close support weaponry. No coaxial gun, hull mounted gun or commander weapon. This leads the vehicle to be extremely susceptible to infantry and light vehicle attacks. There are no countermeasures nor are there any smoke deployment systems. This leads to a very large target.

Due to lack of anti-infantry weapons the deployment will be at a stand-off distance. Heavy gunner will ride shotgun until the Neutron Shells are launched. As this is also a black op, the vehicle has no air support except the MJ. The MJ will not be called in until evac is required or ground support is necessary.

Due to lack of air superiority, the primary target is the Yrs Starfighter bay. Following that will be the Nightmare Pit then the Giant Nightmares.

The Yrs will receive one nbomb. Pit receives two. Nightmares receive one a piece as they will be surely separated.

Expected results: Unknown. At minimum, the Yrs will be neutralized by the EMP from the Neutron Artillery. Follow up with standard artillery if there is movement. This is imperative as any air cover by the nightmares will make this operation a worse cluster. This should certainly prevent air assault which has been the doom of tanks since wood and fabric were attached to an engine on old Earth. Hopefully, the neutron bombs have an effect on the nightmares.

Contingency plan: Neutron bombs have no effect on the pit OR giant nightmares. As opposed to contingency this should almost be expected. Following initial shot of neutron shell, wait for movement. If there is any, shell with standard artillery. Shots should be taken from the hull down position(this is a standard firing position for tanks that give the least amount of target silhouette). Following shots on the pit immediately engage Giant Nightmares. Second verse, same as the first, if the neutron shell has no effect immediately on the Giant Nightmare hit with shots of regular HE.

Also, if there is no effect at all from the neutron shells immediately contact the MJ for support. Teams Bravo and Charlie will be dropped on our position to lend support as well as secure the LZ. After securing, the MJ will grab for evac as long as the Giant Nightmares are neutralized. Use light and shadow leyas if nothing else works.

This is not a stand up fight. If neither neutron shells nor artillery affect the pit, immediately target the Giant Nightmares and prepare for evac. Use everything including the kitchen sink if necessary.

The first wave of nightmares using guerillar style manuers to piece apart the tank. They will flank, and draw the tank away from the Megadome, the Foundry and their young over in the breeding pits.

Just realize that this was unprovoced, and these nightmares are defending their home and their young. When the Mercs do little to stop, Viggo himself will make a full frontal assault using the Nightmare Lord Vessel, powering up the nightmares nearby. Now comes the wave of Black Cats from RU V. It will be their job to incapacitate the tank, leaving pieces to salvage and learn from which killing off the atrocious crew.
The leader will come face to Fist, as Viggo with charge using the pole hammer crafted from the fist of a Krato, and if their is anything left- he can slink away unsuccessful with nothing to show to those that hired him saying "All the credits in the universe, would not be worth it." Leave, and never come to my lands again!

***If the tank is took much for the nightmare forces, it'll be with the use of the Nightmard Lord Vessel, that the tank is taken, and dropped within the void of space. Lets see how long they can survive within the great void with No resources. Either way, let the Merc suffer for a unsuccessful job well done.

Update Mission Protocols.

Pit will receive only one Neutron Shell.

Reacquire target heavy. Target acquisition on Nightmare Lord Vessel. Firing solution will include remaining Neutron Shell as well as supplemental High Explosive Armor Piercing Rounds. Fire for effect.

Use Light and Shadow Leyas to cover withdrawl.


MJ will not drop troops this will be a dust off situation.
