Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad Empty Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad

Post  Admin Sun Mar 27, 2011 9:46 pm

An experimental new Super Capital Ship attacked the Interdictor Fleet on the plane of Awareness. As the battle raged, between the ten Interdictor Carriers, hundreds of starfighters and the single Unity Purifier, an experimental Shadow Drive was activated and the entire battle was pulled through an Energy Bridge to our reality, in orbit near the deep space Citystation Monreth's Delight on the edge of the Draco Constellation. As the Purifier expelled a cloud of satellites, it cut off all communication from Monreth's Delight.
A battle now rages between the independent space station of Monreth's Delight, the remaining four Interdictors and the Purifier. All attempts to teleport near the Purifier is being stopped by its cloud of satellites now that they have expanded around the combatants. Even attempts by the Unity which is trying to recover the rogue vessel. Its abilities and skills are currently unknown by non-TRILAT players.

Submit specific tactical plans for reaching the battle site, and aiding either the Purifier or the Iron Republic or the space station. State specific numbers of ships sent, and specific number of troops for boarding actions.
The goal for the Unity is to rescue/shut down the Purifier, the goal for all others is to destroy the Purifier or rescue those remaining aboard the independent Space Station.

This mission is open to All Players.
Post your plan to this mission on either the defenders or attacker's side here on this thread only. First person to post gets a single extra repost later to launch secret attacks, ambushes etc. All other players get one post only. This thread will be locked at 11pm E.S.T. on Friday April 1st. Only actions listed on this mission will count as locked in for player actions.

Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad Empty Re: Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad

Prime knew the Purifier, and had been concerned about this eventuality. The Purifier was a deadly weapon, one that needed additional layers of controls it would seem. He suspected sabotage, or perhaps just an imperfect design.

He sat on a small personal skiff, insulated against the particular frequencies that the Purifier could emit. He knew its mobility and aggression protocols, as he had written them himself. With quick sensor flashes, the crew on his stealthy skiff could find the heart of the Purifier whilst the battle raged.

He, 20 Emissaries, and two Sanguine lords would board the vessel. Prime carried an experimental control rod, and went over his notes as the small and sleek black vessel arched through the battle at impossible velocities. He would board the vessel with his small party, they would drill as far as they could with his private vessel, then they would fight their way to the core. From there, he would activate the control rod, install the new pilots, and move the vessel away from the combat.

He looked forward to this additional testing data.

Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad Empty Re: Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad

I will have a Unity Dreadnought approach from the direction of the solar system's epicenter. Upon nearing the battle theater it will fire its engines toward Monreth's Delight. It will use the solar winds from the sun(s) to glide in on the sails of the craft and modify its course as needed. The engines will be running cold and all attempts will be made to obscure the craft. At no time will the craft attempt to use aggressive maneuvers near the Purifier.

Upon reaching the station, the crew will attempt to communicate with those inside to inform them that they are there to lead them to safety. We will then attach grappling cables and tow them as expeditiously as possible. Once the station is secure, all engines will fire hot and at top speed. Once faster then light travel is made possible again, we will port the station to a safe harbor of its choosing. A Judge will be on board to suggest that our planets in Free Systems space might be ideal.

A Void Lord ship will also be waiting on the very outskirts of the system. It will have arrived with the Dreadnought and will await its return. Should the Dreadnought be chased by Iron Republic craft, the Void Lord will launch an ambush as the Dreadnought tries to get away. Should the Purifier take interest in the Dreadnought or its cargo, the Void Lord and Dreadnought are to protect the space station at all costs, even if it means the frigates will become forfeit.

The Four remaining Interdictors must be allowed to retreat. By my command, the four interdictors will shut off their engines and drift. In that moment my fleet will move into action.
The Mothership Sword of Bootes shall shadow jump into the fray launching its full compliment of starfighters, 150 in total, which shall form up in an ascending phalanx formation.
On my command the brave pilots of the Iron Republic Starfleet shall fire their compliments of EMP missiles. That is 600 EMP missiles in a cloud that the vessels in their path could not hope to dodge. At no time will any of my ships enter the area close to the evil TRILAT vessel. They shall maintain distance and continue the ordered firing until all missiles are sent.
The ranks shall then withdraw back into the hull of the shining Sword of Bootes.
The Interdictors will reactivate their engines and shadow jump away.
The Sword of Bootes shall launch a set of boarding pods that will make their way to the Station. Anyone assisting the evacuation (even if wanted criminals) will be ignored unless acting violently. The Brethren Betas in Martian Power Armor, will be led by an Iron Republic Officer, my brave Lieutenant Palomedes, my own son in Cyclops Tank-killer power armor, and armed with a Mach Cannon.
He will hotwire a Shadow Drive onto the space station's reactor and jump the entire space station back into a safe system. He will do me proud!
The Sword of Bootes shall remain in system but far away from the TRILAT warmachines to watch.

Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad Empty Re: Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad

Captain Kir'Yay of the Quall Frigate "Burning Hope" flashed into the battlefield and observed the action. The interdictor fleet began to withdraw as the Sword of Bootes launched its fighters into the fray. Kir'Yay stretched his four arms up then back onto his twin set of armrests on his large command chair. He turned his head toward his communications officer, one of the Horned Dog cultists and told him that it was time. He smiled to himself as the flaming portal opened up beside the ship, one hundred Neo Flayer Scout ships emerged from the hole in waves the portal closing after they were through. They would engage any enemy star fighters and begin to strafe the Purifier with their fireball cannons. Not that he believed that they could cause any significant damage as they were only a distraction anyway. Kir'Yay turned to his pilot and ordered him to go to ramming speed. They would rip through the enemy's hull with their frontal horn and deposit his force of one hundred flayers and thirty Quall N'Drone.
Once attached to the Purifier the Burning Hope would fire its weapons at any nearby ships, if the ship is seized it shall disconnect and act as an escort to the withdrawal. If the assault force is defeated it will attempt to evacuate all survivors of the Quall or IR force and then begin firing all its weapons on the Purifier from point blank range to try to cause as much damage as possible before it jumps to safety away from the battle. Captain Kir'Yay's crew were trained for these battles, he would not accept failure, he would get his assault team on to that ship no matter the cost.

Layne Yr will send in wise Leyas Users and smart scientists to study the entire battle. She wanted to have a full report on all the Purifier's capabilities waiting on her desk before she got back from her mission on Druzi.
If any part of the destroyed ships can be taken as samples they will for further study.

Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad Empty Re: Week 1 Space Battle- The Purifier has gone Mad

Prime grinned, considering his options.

His personal skiff streaked through space, and had been hardened against sounds. He also took it upon himself to use some of dear Axis's material. His personal boarding skiff would be considerably more effective with a bit of void metal coating the tip. Once again, he went through the schematics of the interior, and his designs for the control rod.

Each of the emissaries had a spare resonance crown, and Prime had his sword. Prime also had designed special battle-suits for the encounter. Each of his boarders had a tight fiting black tactical suit with matching helmet based of the unfettered wingsuit design. The helmet had three stages. In the first, it let in all ambient data. In the second, it suppressed sound. In the third it shut off all outside stimuli and only fed information to the wearer in short bursts. That information was supplemented with Unity projections on how the battle would progress based on Prime's calculations and prognostication.

These suits, designed to improve the stealthy capabilities of the boarders, would be used primarily in the second stage. The third stage will only be used if things become unbearable for a particular agent. The plan is to get to the core, re-establish control, and get the ship out of there after collecting the satellites and initiating self destruct mechanic of screamers outside of the Purifier. Prime will only use his sword if he absolutely must. Once he re-establishes control, Prime and his party will annihilate any who who would think to board.
