Planet Thread(Beacon City) Empty Beacon City, Planet of Refuge(Homeworld)

Post  GeneralGarminFe Sun Apr 24, 2011 2:22 pm

Beacon City, Planet of Refuge
Codename: Homeworld
Industry: 75
Research: 65
Population: 3 million (Children of Falosini, some Earthers)
Defense Force: Ultra
Leyas: 6
Economic Focus: Beacon City specializes in exporting well crafted metals and precious gems. The raw materials of which are mined within the nearby mountains or imported from its colonies. Secondary to this is underground agriculture. After a mine is drained of its precious minerals, it is artificed to be a growth chamber to many modified plants and fungi. Finally, the Beacon City Bazaar located in the lowest parts of the city provides a great deal of legal trade, as well as blackmarket sales.
Features: The Colossus of Beacon City; 1 Savior of Cities

Years ago, Garmin Fe would sit within his own private chamber and surround himself with the shard hearts of fallen warriors. He would commune with their memories and learn from their interaction. These days the halls are open to all. Those perched upon the walls aren't all warriors though. They are craftsmen, tradesmen, educators, mothers, fathers, grandparents, and more.

Civilians have joined the ranks of the honored, though not all for the same reason. Some have passed away from old age, while others have actually chosen this life of disembodiment. Some citizens are looking to rid themselves of the distractions of the body, to contemplate existence or the nature of the embodied with a new perspective. The shard heart has proved to be such an interesting machination, Garmin only wishes he could take full credit for its creation.

That said, many of these souls still wish to pass on the physical traits that shaped their mental selves in order to create a new generation. The answer to procreation without bodies to procreate with has come from our Unity allies. Offering the use of their cloning vats, Unity would take the genetic material from the former shells of those honored, and recombine them into a new citizenry. These new civilians would be housed in a new district of Beacon City, carved out of a nearby mountain. The peak and northern face of the mountain looms over the frosty dormitories.

The new citizens have integrated themselves smoothly and most now visit the halls of the honored in order to commune with their genetic fathers and mothers.

[The 1 million cloned citizens will be housed in a new district of Beacon City. The district will be named, Esch's Peak, in honor of Forgemaster Esch.]

Continent of Dead Quall
Codename: Floating Isle
Industry: 10
Research: 90
Population: 10 thousand (Children of Falosini)
Defense Force: Elite
Leyas: 8
Economic Focus: Warfare research, testing, and production of Beacon City war machines. It is currently at the edge of Quall territory and threatens their borders with ominous clouds of mists designed to obscure view of the Continent.

The Border Wars: Aftermath, pg 82 wrote:This landscape has no naturally growing plat-life, hard obsidian ground, and no naturally occurring water. This means each of the Fort-Towns of the continent have to import food from other dimensions and make use of extensive artificed water-creation arrays. With the smokey skies and uncomfortably hot temperature, it is a frontier existence. The large amount of unclaimed land allows most characters the opportunity to start their own settlement on the continent. Beacon City Recognized are automatically given a fort to defend if they move to the continent.

Quall N'Drone take 20 (No A.R.) damage every combat round they are on the continent.

Planet Thread(Beacon City) Empty Asada 2(Planet 3)

Post  GeneralGarminFe Tue Jun 21, 2011 5:02 pm

Asada 2
Codename: Planet 3
Industry: 50
Research: 0
Population: 1 million (Earthers)
Defense Force: Elite
Leyas: 3
Economic Focus: For the longest time Asada 2 had a mining and forestry-based economy. Over time the Hive Queen Andara helped to move the colony toward being a purely manufacturing colony after a cataclysmic event that made it the third planet in the system. The lush forests are no longer and most of the population live in domed cities to shield them from smoke and ash of artificial volcanoes. Some veins of rare materials can still be found, but most of the accessible minerals have been harvested long ago.
Features: A Model-T Space Station

Asada 2 came into the care of the Hive Queen Andara many centuries ago while she was still in the service of the Iron Republic. Soon after it came under her care she enticed millions of Iron Republic citizens to live their and harvest its rich mineral veins and lush forests. All was well until roughly several centuries ago when the climate shifted drastically toward a cooling phase. The nature of this was completely astrological.

Asada 2 had, for most all of its life, an elliptical orbit around its star. It shares the system with Asada 1 and Asada 3, both much larger in size with Asada 3 made entirely of gases. It had always experienced seasonal cooling stages when it drifted furthest from the star, yet these were short seasons as the orbit of the planet around the star was but 89 days long. Yet the inevitable happened. As Asada 2 reached the nigh apex of its orbit away from Asada, Asada 3 finally drifted close enough to distort Asada 2's orbit, swinging it past the gas giant and into a new orbit as the third planet in the system.

The winter became cold, foreboding, and unending. Earthquakes during the advent destroyed many thousands of people and many billions in Credits worth of infrastructure. Andara did her best to correct this problem by channeling Fire Layas into the planet in untold amounts. The surface of the planet became doted with 14 new rings of volcanic activity over the course of the next century. The act saved the planet from becoming a frozen wasteland, but at the cost of becoming a volcanic wasteland instead. Frost still clung to the edges of the planet and was held at bay by fiery mountains. Ash and soot filled the air and the light gravity of the planet allowed the particles the reach above the upper atmosphere. Now rings of dust stretch out around the planet and the skies are rolling clouds of near blackness.

Feeling bad for this turn of events, Andara used her connections with the Iron Republic to secure a new industry for its citizens in the manufacturing of Iron Republic goods. She resurrected domed cites to shield the population, filling it with a semblance of what their home use to be.

Unrest did not come to Asada 2 until recently. Migrant workers visited with stories of the rebellion and danger in the cosmos. New threats and new heroes. Then the underground scene became flooded with new non-Iron Republic sanction materials. Vids, recordings, and even books. Many looked at their artificial surroundings and started to feel like caged animals. Cabin fever had finally struck. Still, none of the Earthers were willing to defy the patronage of the good Queen Andara. In their eyes, she cared for them and treated them justly. Then the unthinkable happened.

Andara's death was an impossibility in their eyes. She had been alive and their ruler for longer then anyone else had lived. The Hive members retreated and so did the support for Iron Republic contracts. The entire planet had become jobless and without protection overnight. Yet hope remained. Beacon City agents saw the opportunity to rise out of the underground and offer the people of the planet a new hope. Garmin Fe was offering his protection from the dangers of the Universe as well as opportunity to continue work by making goods for the Beacon City, its affiliated allies, and for the worlds in the Free Systems. He also promised to find a way to clean the air, end the volcanic ash from spewing forth more dust, and give them all the ability to survive the icy tundras that the volcanoes were desperately trying to hold back. A promise Garmin had every intention of keeping.

The new colony would become Beacon City's first overt attempt to take a planet from the Iron Republic.

Planet Thread(Beacon City) Empty Quay Beta 6

Post  GeneralGarminFe Wed Aug 24, 2011 4:05 am

Quay Beta 6
Codename: Moonbase 3
Industry:
Research:
Population: 1 million (Children of Falosini)
Defense Force: Elite
Leyas: 1
Economic Focus: Sprawling forges found within the numerous caverns and mines that inhabits the entire moon. From here Beacon City is supplied with the arms and armor it uses to carry out their campaigns.
Features:

Garmin Fe used the nature of recent events to redirect much attention to the activities of others. Meanwhile, in secret, his agents established a planet in a system on the same rim of space as Asada 2. Quay Beta 6 was barely a viable moon base months ago. This is no longer the case. A million of the Children of Falosini have been manufactured within its deep frozen mines. Volunteers from the Freedom Homeforge's eldest members have supplied their genetic code and memories for the creation of a new populace.

On this moon, each person is aware of what they are and remembers distinctly the purpose they serve today. The flesh and mind of thousands have been transformed into thousands more. Once established, the cloning vats hidden deep within the caverns of the moon each churned out new living breathing copies. As each craftsmen awakened they reverently took hammer and pick into hand and refashioned the base using raw materials shipped from sister planets. Before long the landscape was reformed into a peaceful metropolis. Caves from across the surface were dug deep to where the forge fires burned endlessly. Now their task of building their home is complete and the forge planet of Quay Beta 6 is ready for production.
