Week 9 Defensive Mission- The Hives of Every World

Over the last week an estrain outbreak has happened on every world that has recently been getting free shipments of Dos Marx Select (except for those where the planetary leader explicitely asked the stands to be shut down).
It is not currently known that the link is the Dos Marx Select, so no metagaming.

As he sat going over the current productions reports for his portion of the planet he was interupted by an aide whose named eluded him at the moment.

"Sir, I think you may want to take a look at these reports we've been getting."

"What going on?" Sora replied

"It looks as if there is a E-strain out break occuring on Tapestry."

"What? How? Hmmm.....well round up as many as you can with out killing them if they resist or are actively hostile you have shoot on sight authorization." He said coldly "I'd prefer them alive but if you do have to kill them try to save as much of them as possible. I might be able to make Something interesting out of them."

"Right away sir" was the aides reply as he scurried out of the room. He hated when the Captain talked about building things out of people.

100,000 Da'uhnb the largest force assembled for one operation under Captain Orig.

"My orders are simple," said Captain Orig, "Return to the first reported outbreak on our planets and work backwards. Use your detective training, to find the source or at the very least the beginning Hives.

Part 2 will depend on the EEF aid. If the EEF delivers the sterilize grenades they will be used.
All magnavores will be executed to prevent further outbreaks.

If the EEF does not deliver, then options are more limited. Then it will be done the hard way with liquid nitrogen grenades and at least 2 grey EMP pistols for every 10 Da'uhnb. "

It was times like this that made Captain Orig miss Xec Cex. That blue bruiser would have had an inspiring speach.

Orig just said, "You have your orders."

When President Ragman heard about the incidents, he just shook his head. This is one of those times when he was glad that he liked to plan ahead.

Looking to an aide, he said "Activate Protocol Beta Three." The aide replid, 'Yes sir'.

Across all the worlds of the Uloh confederacy, an annoucement was broadcast, "To all unregistered Magnavores and Manslayers currently on these worlds, You are being given 24 hours to turn yourselves in for verification and identification. After 24 hours are up, forces will be sent into bring you in for processing if you have not come in volentarily. This is a lawful response under Part 4 Section b of the Uloh Confederacy Charter. This is as much for your protection as to protect others. If it is determined that you have been implanted against your host's will, there will need to be reparations made, but as loing as you didnot do it on purpose we will not pusecute you for your actions. this messsage will repeat."

The message will repeat every hour with the countdown adjusted for time. each planet will have the message adjusted to inform of the location and method to contact the local authorites. After 24 hours has passed, Teams of Omegas armed with Mach pistols loaded with acid rounds and Anti-Estrain grenades will be sent to bring in any Magnavores or manslayers who have not turned themselves in. they will annouce that they are authorized to use lethal force if there is resistance.

Any Magnavores or manslayers that either come in or are brought in will be quarentined and questioned to ascertain how they were implanted and wiether or not they are under the influence of any out side forces.

Druzi:
Security forces will be deployed working with the other factions police forces to enact marshal law while the mess is straightened out.
STRIKE Team 1 will be assigned along with SUARM Cog III (Equivalent size to a company) to help the magnavores. The magnavores. Using the technology lent to Blackheart and the STRIKE operators abilities they will try to convince the new magnavores and their hives to stop their reproduction cycle and come to the space port where they will be relocated and examined.

STRIKE Team 2 and SUARM COG IV will deploy to the lightly guarded research base. Assuming the magnavores can be reasoned with don't show signs of AoD influence and can cease reproduction cycles they will be left to get back to work. A brilliant mind is a terrible thing to waste and who knows with their new alien mindset they may gain genius they lacked before.

While not my colony, a company of Operators, STRIKE Team 3, and SUARM Cog II will be on standby to help the president keep law and order and enact any plans by the Yd Ev Nar government.

Wyanda P815
All security forces training there and stationed there will move to secure my sector and the hive queens if she desires it. SUARM COG's V and VI will be on hand to help make sure Angel D has no influence over the manslayers there and STRIKE Team 4 and 5 will help the new magnavores in anyway they can.
I will aid President Ragman in anyway or form required. I will also petition to use the Expanded Wyanda Understanding center to house and educate the new magnavores. The hive museum will be converted into an actual hive until a more permanent solution is found. (OoC: I intend to fix that next week so it will be a short stay please don't boost population numbers on this planet unless they decide to stay)

Conflagros
The Brethren Deltas should be immune to the transformation assuming its like the quall transformation. Part of the million of them (Selected for sensitivity and love of living things) will armor up in riot gear and stun weapons and keep the peace. SUARM Cog VII will block any outside influence while STRIKE Team 7 will talk to them and attempt to get them to go to Wyanda.


STRIKE Team 8, the rest of the SUARM Cogs, and half the rest of my forces will be activated and stood up. Marshal law enacted temporarily to ensure no unchecked infections happen on any of my other worlds.

The other half my forces will be for purchase to aid in stability operations. This will be open to all factions, price is 2 million ghaz a planet to get a company of security specialists to aid in containing the Unexplained Species transformation and the resulting disorder.

AFTER ACTION:
Once the manslayers breeding cycles are contained and the magnavores are medically screened they will be interviewed by a medic and STRIKE operator to collect infection data and try to find the cause of the infection.


ASSUMING THE MAGNAVORES ARE FREE OF AOD CONTROL AND WILLING TO WORK WITH ME:
If found free of influence then blackheart will work with them. For their continued employment and the employment of their hive blackheart will set up Model T stations in any sector of space that will allow it (OoC: Pretty pretty please President Ragman, joint defense) The stations will represent the maximum hive size (Probably roughly 2-3k). For those magnavores involved in industry these will be industrial stations (Can manslayers be taught assembly line simple tasks?) For those security contractors though the hives will be made into Manslayer brigades. While these cannot be used in much of the galaxy they can be used against other E-strain.

It will be suggested to the magnavores (Who will be paid as commanders/managers of a unit their size, however the manslayers them selves work for free, this is probably a huge promotion for many of the changed) that they should speak to one another and foster the mentality that Blackheart is one hive.

(Assuming this last pipe dream flies 50 million will be authorized for station purchase and for the security hives purchase of a cygnos super heavy transport to move the hive as one into battle. The security hives will cycle through the Wyanda training center where they will learn to be more combat effective. The magnavores will develop command and control tactics and the manslayers will hone their pure ferocity with some discipline and be a horrendously effective fighting force, the blackheart hive will dies its fur black as a mark of honor.)

When the news had broken out that there were multiple outbreaks of E-strain on his holdings, Su panicked. How could this be?! We've been scanning for larva for weeks now and nothing! The first thing he did was have his analysts look over all the evidence regarding E-Strain that Prime had given him weeks ago to see what could have caused this. Based on the evidence provided, his team concluded that, unless his scanners missed something, this outbreak had to be caused by Magnivores. Magnivores don't have larva in their heads, and don't need larva to be infected.

But how? Su asked himself the question, and then realized immediately that he had to find out. His team was working on it, and they were throwing information at him at breakneck speeds. Per his Quarantine measures, each planet went on lockdown, nobody on or off. Second, all non-essential staff from all companies were tasked with assisting in the process. (ooc-half normal economic output from all MH companies). First, he needed to find the source of the outbreak. His records show that Magnivores spread through a form of nanoplague, which means infection can be caused by anything. Food, water, air.

He had staff on each planet do reports for missing persons, get eyewitness reports to where Magnivores and E-Strain were coming from. Satellite imagery was utilized to cooridinate where the outbreaks were occurring and originating from. Entire teams were dedicated, forensicly, to determining the source(s) of outbreak. Two questions were to be determined, were the Magnivores plants, or were they converted by something locally. Until it could be determined which of the two, they were to act in coordination. As per https://darkrefuge.forumotion.com/t808-invitation-to-a-party-at-casablanca-station#5253, anything requiring regressional analysis would be given to the Unity for quicker analysis (i.e. probably calculations with multiple possibilities that a computer just can't spit out easily).

Based on priliminary reports from PO's, Poor Kenny, she just got her mojo back from the crisis on Henner12, there were reports of people transforming into Magnivores. Irrespective of whether or not they were part of a Ground 0 outbreak or infected later, their families were to be brought in for questioning (when available) to request 1) Dietary habits - What did they ingest recently? 2) Medical habits - What drugs were they on, what medical procedures did they have done? 3) Locations visted - where did they go recently? 4) Who - specifically, if anyone in the last few weeks that was new to the planet. Using the above four, try to determine a pattern. These would be cross-referenced across planetary holdings. When possible, data would be shared with any Unity esoterics available to be analyzed as well (speed). While it may take days longer, all statistical regressions would be also done by MH staff. As the planets are shared with Flag Staff, all information gathered and processed will be made avail, live, to them for their own investigations.

Food and Drug evaluation: Based on the above answers, all food/drug shipments will be checked. On-planet and off-planet. As most industry is coordinated by MH, it shouldn't cause too much of a problem to do so. As the infection spreads through nanoplague, scans for the them will be performed. Food (including drink) samples will be analyzed. Foods/sources identified by questioners will be focused on first. All restaurants will be closed and investigated one by one to ensure their food sources are "clean", and then all shipments sent to them will be investigated as "clean" before giving. It causes no less than a 24 hour slowdown of business, maybe 48 hours, within the food industry on any planet.

Locations: All locations visited will be spot checked for possible sources of food or other weapons or possibilities for transmission of nanoplague. For example, if 100 people all went to the same gym, check the gym, up and down, for possible sources of infection. This investigation will include checking staff of the location and their homes.

Who: Put all cross-referenced names in a database, see if there's a pattern that would lead to a distributor/distributors of something that might have infected them, such as a Patient 00, or a group of people who may or may not be associated with each other. These individuals, if they exist, will also be investigated.

Final Step: As Esiroh 6 and homeworld was not infected, cross reference the above with possible shipments of food and drugs with those planets to eliminate possibilities. Cross reference with ship logs going on and off each planet.

The purpose of the investigation is to see who or what caused the outbreak and prevent further outbreak of Magnivorism.

Once Su and his team set up protocols across all planets, whereby his staff redirected thousands upon thousands of staff members across the Universe to help in the investigative process, there was the very real threat of E-Strain Manslayer infestation that would wipe out the entire population of a planet to plan for. Henner 12, especially would be threatened as its population would be most easily overwhelmed by this outbreak. Plus, he would have to, per his protocols, provide information to his people so that they would best be able to cope with what would come.

Su prepared his speech, which would be recorded and broadcast throughout his holdings experiencing outbreaks (except Druzi Prime).

"To the people of the Free Systems, I have been apprised by each of your respective Presidents of Operations of the situation. To confirm, there appears to have been a localized infestation of Magnivores. We are currently assessing what caused this outbreak to ensure the safety of each and every one of you. We know and understand that many of you are scared, and that the circumstances of this outbreak are terrifying. But that's what the E-Strain want to do. Their tactics exist as much to inspire fear as they are to effectively infest a planet. Do not let this fear grip you. Living your lives through fear is what the Angels of Desolation want. It is how their evil consumes us, which exists to break us down as individuals, and no longer want to fight. Do not give in. We, of the Free Systems, have existed for thousands of years free of the tyranny of the Iron Republic, independant of other nations. While the spirit of cooperation is high, we must maintain the spirit that has kept us free for thousands of years. We must come together to overcome an enemy that is, literally, knocking at our doors.

This is not a call for violence against your fellow individuals, your peers, or your enemies. I call upon each of you to maintain your heads, be vigilent, and care for each other.

The creatures I show you here, are Magnivores. They are converted from human, or Earther, DNA. They are converted humans whose DNA has been modified, genetically, by nanoplague. If a loved one of yours has been converted, please advise us so that we may make contact with them. They are likely confused and will be acting on engineered impulse for the first few moments of their transformation. However, they will regain sentience eventually and can be reasoned with, we hope. Please call your local agencies for a pick-up of affected individuals so that we may assist them in coping with their new found condition. Note, their fear and anxiety of their newfound state may cause bouts of irrational violence. Be careful around loved ones. We hope that once they are acclimated to their new state of being, we can reunite them with each and every one of you.

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of each resident of the Free Systems during this time of crisis, even those that have been converted to Magnivores. We will attempt to find a cure for affected individuals, even if it takes a lifetime to do so, because we are committed to the ideal that nobody has the right to convert you against your will. We, of the Free Systems, are committed to individual liberty and free choice, and conversions without permission is not to be tolerated. For those of you Magnivores that are listening and/or watching, please bear in mind this basic premise that defines us as individuals. While you may have the capacity to convert others, it is not a right to do so. When things have settled we will talk to you and your family and, if you wish to have your loved ones join you, amd they wish to oblige, we can make the proper arrangements. Until such a time, however, we encourage you to act of love and allow for freedom of choice. Any Magnivores attempting to spread infection will be put down in accordance to Free Systems law. Confusion, chaos, and uncertainty is not an excuse that will be tolerated. Please, act with cognizance to the extent that you can. We are here to help you and protect you. Unlike in the Iron Republic, your lives matter.

Magnivores have the ability to lay one egg approximately every year. Chances are, they have laid such an egg already, which may or may not be the sole cause of this current infestation. We please ask you, the citizens of the Free Systems, to help us track down Magnivore movements. If you witnessed a conversation, please tell us so that we can track down E-Strain eggs, which birth E-Strain Manslayers and are extremely violent creatures. They birth eggs which mature within hours and they multiply exponentially, and their population need to be culled. Here is an image of a Manslayer. Compare them to the Magnivore, who differ from Manslayers. WE are currently tracking down and hunting every last Manslayer for destruction. There will be coordinated efforts to ensure these vile creatures do not overrun our planets. I will not allow our peoples to be subjugated, I will not allow us to be conquered. We will work together to ensure we maintain our freedom, our liberty, and our individual beings.

The task set before us will be hard, and there are no gaurantees. But once again, I am comitted to success. I will use every resource I have available so that each and every one of you can live freely, as we have been for thousands of years. We will not be stamped out by a maniacal force, bent on the destruction of the universe. As of today we will rise to the occasion, overcome all obstacles, and send a clear message to the Angels of Desolation: We will fight! And we will survive!

Su then enacted the defense plan:
250 Ocelots were deployed in Henner 12 (h12), 450 on Maxa Provo 9 (mp9), all armed with disabler cannons.
All planetary Aegis were provided disabler cannons.
EMP bayonets and grenades were deployed (40 percent of total provided by EEF) across H12 and MP9.
UMart Battery units,and chargers, and computer systems would be imported, by the millions, to each planet.

First, government/MH holdings would be swept. Important computing systems will be removed from the premises. The operation needs a center and E-Strain wiped out there first. Non-explosive Unity and/or EEF strikes will target that builing first. Then, all computer units will be replaced, battery units recharged from external sources, and the building(s) will be kept guarded against further incursion.

Quarantines would be imposed. Building by building sweeps would take place. When safe, starfighters and striders would EMP structures, hoping to knock out E-Strain lying in wait, destroying eggs. Building by building sweeps would take place. Any Estrain found in the streets would be taken out by local militia and police. If needed, disabler airstrikes. Any sources of infestation (i.e. in large numbers) will be taken out first. If large swaths of eggs are found, request EEF deployment. Again, thousands of thousands of people who would otherwise be working off-planet will be imported for the purpose of doing sweeps (of the former pirate-ilk). They will be paid overtime.

Once buildings and/or sectors are cleared, ensure populations remain mobile and within those sectors are quarantines. Food will be screeened, imported, and provided to families while the outbreak investigation takes place.

When and where EEF/Unity advises local forces of action, we will coordinate. When and where FlagStaff advises action, we will follow.

Otherwise, street sweeps and liberal use of EMP bayonettes are to be employed. As people are evacuated, they are to do so with essential comm units to ensure they are not destroyed with EMP blasts. UMart electronics will be provided supplemantarily as needed.

Once the source of the outbreak is found, destroy all samples.

For Druzi Prime,
Do investigation, coordinate with Blackheart, but no offensive action will be taken. It's their ship, let them helm it.

Hopefully, initial sweeps of E-strain can be contained within 48-72 hours. If Unity efforts allow, even shorter. With the spirit of cooperation, various space station coordinating outbreak centers, and local authorities/MH doing careful, regionalized evacs of areas while they are swept, and people can relocate back and be held in quarantine while other areas are done similarly.

Magnivores will be asked to turn themselves in. They can either request to be put in statis, or live in quarantine for week, to ensure that trigger happy folk don't shoot them on sight, or be removed to a space station for a week until the crisis is over. Volunteers will be accepted for testing possible conversion back to their former selves. They will be given comms twice a day for supervised calls to their loved ones. Once the crisis is over, their loved ones will be allowed to visit them. If any prove to be able to assist in tracking (they will in very very limited numbers) be put to task (1 per group of 40, never to be undermanned by 10). They will be fed properly, treated with as much dignity as circumstances allow. Once the Manslayer threat neutralized, much of the limitations on comm use will be dropped, and freer access allowed. Any attempts by E-Strain to attack compounds will serve as Ocelot cannon fodder.

Hopefully these actions will suffice. Long Live the Free Systems!

Director Kal Marx had a burst transmission prepared for this eventuality. It will be broadcast on all stations in IR worlds affected by this outbreak and had been pre-recorded. No action will be taken beyond the broadcast and the recall of Dos Marx Select.

"Honored Citizens of the Iron Republic,

For months I have seen your suffering. Your struggle to breath free.

Now after months of prison reforms I have discovered a deep seated threat to all our people. Political terrorists, like those serving the Angels of Desolation, have been trying to infiltraite our society. Most disparate religious organizations are fighting for the poor and the needy. Unknown to them, some of their clergy has been replaced by AOD Terrorists.
These AOD Terrorists have hijacked shipments of Dos Marx Select and a variety of other household products.
Dos Marx Breweries are beginning an immediate recall of all bottles of Dos Marx Select. As you recieve this, Brethren Tactical squads are escorting the captured terrorists, who have already been interrogated, into execution chambers across Known space.

To make it clear Dos Marx products are safe, except for certain bottles and kegs of Dos Marx Select. That is why as a responsible company we are recalling all Dos Marx Select and discontinuing the Select label.

Other products believed to be contaminated by these AOD Terrorists are soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, skin lotion, canned tuna product, canned dog food, canned cat food, canned cat-dog food, canned cloned beluga caviar, canned corn, canned cans, vacuum sealed passionfruit, Android oil, Multi-vitamins containing vitamin E, adult diapers, automatic carrot peelers, and any food that comes in pill form. Please avoid all these products, no matter what brand. Do not touch them, use them or imbibe them. Any touch can result in infection by biological agents. If you believe you are infected please do the honorable thing and prevent your infection from spreading.

Any planet dealing with Estrain Manslayer outbreaks should quarantine the affected area under standard Quarantine procedures.
Have your Planetary Governor contact your Sector General for deployment of AntLion Mekanoids and Brethren Kill Teams.

Anyone asking for vids of the execution would get copies of vids which were pre-recorded showing the lawful Execution of all major cell leaders of the AOD. All facial recognition software would confirm the people shown are known wanted AOD terrorists.

All tests would show the vids had not been doctored in any way.

Prime smiled, soaking in the party. He had at last gotten permission to perform his great works in Free System space. It was fascinating to watch how the Trilat worked, and it was easy to understand why those of other factions had a hard time understanding it. Each member of the Trilat simply set up situations that another one could use, increasing the net advantage of them all.

The Angels of Desolation caused chaos and derived power from it, the Unity then quelled the chaos, gaining more power from the action, and the Kassanthians grew exponentially; unopposed in the confusion. Such beautiful symmetry needed little planning. Each actor did as they would, and the Trilat grew.

Enough musing; Prime had work to do. For each planet he defended, the used almost the exact same strategy. He sent this force to each planet upon which Su Maehl had holdings, including Durzi Prime. Sentinel Station I would participate in the Durzi Prime conflict.

Two Dreadnaughts will streak to each effected planet, and will bring 150 Saggitae with them to the operational theater. Each Saggitae will be configured with atypical weaponry. Particularly, one of their open slots will be an enhanced communications array, and the second will be a range enhancement unit for their energy lance. This load out will allow these saggitae to act as combat satellites above the planets affected by the E-strain incursions. The energy lances will surgically obliterate any E-strain operating in their view one at a time, and they will act as eyes in the sky for all ground forces, allowing for perfect co-ordination. Ten Saggitae will be exceptions to this load out. They will carry a compliment of EMP bombs and will strike particularly entrenched resistance.

Infantry will pour through rip gates originating from the Dreadnaughts. Each population center will be defended by 500 Praetorians, 5 Triarius, and 1 Vrangian Guard. Their role will be entirely defensive, tying up E-strain as they wither under orbital fire. Local magistrates will be made aware of the reinforcements before they arrive. Due to the accuracy of Saggitae, and the Unity's perfect communication, Praetorians will be supported by the orbital Saggitae even in efforts to remove E-strain from crowds, buildings, or more entrenched positions.

Each planet will also have 5 elite kill teams land on the planets in question. Each team will consist of 5 Seneschals and 2 Emissaries. The team will also have three of the nightmare hounds provided by Layne Yr some time ago. With the creation of these hounds, Layne Yr had done the impossible, she found a way to hunt the E-strain.

On Durzi Prime, Sentinel Station 1 will lend its computing and surgical strike capacity to the Durzi Prime defense.

The Oleifera was astounded at the genetic diversity which seemed to blossom throughout the Builder and non-builder populations of Zahaz. This must be some sort of new mutation, but how, why? Nonetheless, it appeared to make those Oleiferan-merged Builders infected much stronger, with a bark-like carapace. The Builders which had not yet merged found shiny grey armor plates forming on their bodies, and began feeling a rage and a hunger unprecedented in Builder history.

The Oleifera alerted the other Builder worlds to the changes, and the entire Builder mind being singing in unison, a soothing, harmonious song of peace and tranquility. Those who felt inner rage and appetite felt those feelings subside in the broadcast of melody. As an added precaution, Oleifera summoned the entire Troubadour fleet to Zahaz, and added their magnified song to those areas which had the highest density of changed Builders.

Those non-Builders who had been affected, humans, Yd Nara, and Aegelis, will be sung to and sequestered in the secure lab facilities of the "Tank" and ZIEST and kept pacified until a more thorough examination can be carried out.

"They must remember who they are," the Oleifera told a body of scientists of non-affected Builders and other races. "They will become one with the Builders once again, and we will find the source of these modifications. Aside from the rage and hunger, which can be easily quelled by the Builders song, this has given us a wealth of excellent genetic material to work from. Now, let us find the causal agent and see if we can use it to our benefit!"

[The Oleiferan-merged Builders will begin work on a choate which can scan for a causal agent. Once it has been identified, the Oleifera and scientists will sequence the genetic code and rewrite it to remove the rage/hunger attributes but retain the rest. These new genes will be administered by a delivery choate given to all affected Builders. Affected non-builders will be converted by proximity to Builder's song and then given the delivery choate.]

Garmin Fe directly sent offers of aid to those planets inflicted with this new Estrain attack. His plan was simple, aid in each planets quarantine and find the source of the problem. Especially for those on Maxo Provo 9, the care of those people were directly upon his shoulders.

Meanwhile,

Just at that moment an alert when out directly to Dillinger. Maxo Provo 9 was under attack, from Estrain. Henry's hair had turned from solid black to a slight peppered black and white since the events of this week. He was sure this next week would leave him with solid white hair once all was said and done.

[To all those that accept Garmin Fe's aid, which will automatically include Maxo Provo 9 thanks to Henry Dillinger's response, Garmin sends 50,000 troops (all recognized and fusion sages), 2 Arcturus Warships, and 50 brand new Jotun Mark II fighters to assist in quarantine of each planet. There focus will be the capture of as many Estrain bodies as possible while defending themselves with lethal force. Technomancer technicians will also be sent to take the captured bodies, revive them under restraint, shard heart them, remove the hearts, and decompose their old shell using nanites. The nanites will analyze the remains for the source of the infection and determine its point of entry. Using this data the technicians will advise the administrators of the planet what they perceive the source of the problem to be. If it can be managed, as many as a 2000 of the troops will be trained in thought awareness to find hiding Estrain. Eye spies will be employed by all tecnomancers to get a greater coverage of the city areas and planet surface.

Maxo Provo 9 will be assisted with an additional 20,000 Quall Hunters.

The shard hearts of those that were once non-Estrain sentient beings should find themselves unbound by the hungers and chemical desires imposed by the Magnavore brain. Sector General Palomedes sat before a small altar and prayed. He prayed for his son who had survived the attack by the FoF but was now surrounded by worlds taken by the Fleets of Fate.
He prayed for the people on the many worlds beset by Estrain. He prayed for his friends and for his enemies.
Finally Palomedes stopped praying and rose to his feet. He adjusted his dress uniform in a nearby mirror. He placed the harmonic blade in sheath at his side.

It took him one minute to go from his quarters to the ready room next to the bridge of his flagship Chivalry.

It was a hard hard choice. Palomedes only hoped someone would be listening to his prayers.

The communications tab on the table of the ready room beeped.

"Sir?"

"Yes?" Asked Palomedes

"This is Lieutenant Juan Vasques, bio weapons division. The UVBs are ready to deploy over the affected planets."

"Remember Lieutenant, I want all citizens memories backed up before operation morning cloud starts," said Palomedes, "Before the first poison gas bombs land."
"Sir we can confirm that all wage slaves have their memories backed up. What should we do about VIPs?"

"Evacuate to the Quarantine zone," said Palomedes, "all VIPs."

"What about the unregistered and transients?"

"Pray for them Lt. Vasques, pray for them," said Palomedes, " Begin operation morning cloud."

All planets with reports in IR space will go through six steps.

All legal citizens have memory backups stored. This should work.

1. Evac V.I.P.s and all passport registered larval implanted citizens

2. Kill all life on the planet using poison gas bombs. Send in brethren teams in power armor to Gas every tunnel picked up up on ground penetrating radar and other scanners.

3. Use Heavy Frigate mounted Domebusters to deliver the Ultimate Virus Bombs(UVBs) into Estrain locations.

4. Allow UVBs to disable larvae and then allow poison gas to kill the hosts. Apply more poison gas as noted in 2.

5. Send in 100,000 Beta Brethren in power armor with flamethrowers and corrosive acid to eliminate any dead alien or Estrain infested bodies to each world.

6. Allow virus to die out and repopulate with clones of the wage slaves.


Expected production loss 100% for one to two weeks then business as usual.

The EEF will dispatch freighters loaded to the bulkhead with E-Strain egg sterilization grenades to the following factions. Each convey will be escorted by two gunships.

The outbreak was sudden and there was panic.
Magnivores on the street, it was enough to make a robotic life-form begin overheating!

On each world the mechanical populous that swore its allegiance to Mor'aye'ahn and Fort Lendill the combat training that had been encoded into every SUARM memory core began to come in handy. Hundreds of millions of robotic life forms knew that their homes were being invaded and that was just rude!

All infected citizens would be hunted down and quarantined with extreme prejudice. And the organic citizens who did not show their infection would be scanned quickly and insisted to aid in the hunt or go to safe locations provided by government officials.

There was efficiency in having the same knowledge, but having millions of independent minds was also useful.

Fleetmaster Deer sat in his command chair. A bank of displays showed many different planets and battlesites.

He tapped the air and one of the displays became the largest. It showed Palomedes fleet moving.
Then he read the reports that Palomedes had begun an ultra quarantine.

Fleetmaster Deer began to laugh, an ultra quarantine was a nice way of saying kill everyone and replace them with clones of themselves.

The old man might claim honor, chivalry but it was all drek.

Fleetmaster Deer ordered his aides to a create a copy of citizens memories taken from colonies requesting aid. The copies would be given over to internal security for review. All memories except for those people from Druzi Prime.

The Fleetmaster found it ironic that it was the Cult of the Dawn New Light that asked for IR aide at Druzi. He would be happy to let Palomedes give them as much help as he could. Just as long as Palomedes didn't allow any of the non-passported larval infected offworld.

Just in case twenty Mega Dispersal Weapons were ready for deployment.

As many affected planets as Deer could would be dosed with the Sterilizer grenades to prevent repeat outbreaks.

Once he got the memories into new clones, Fleetmaster Deer wondered how Izurd Prime will function. Probably not as well as Reneh 21 but social experimentation was fun. Especially when he could list it on his military budget.

In response to a private conversation we we having earlier I have the following news.

While medical science is not my specialty, technology is. I have just received word that, after some scouring of the FtL databases, the cure has been obtained. As the firewalls the information was located behind are the like of I've never seen before I must stress that I cannot guarantee that this is identical to the cure known as the Snowcrash protocol. Various parts of the data were missing and had to be reconstructed via cyclic redundancy checks/protocol.

If you are willing to take the chance, I will transmit the data to the FtL Suarm citizens, who will be instructed to create and observe the protocol as it gets disseminated. That way your people will have the opportunity for the "cure" but our technology is not in danger of falling into hands we would rather not have it in.

If this works then I will leave it up to my commanders to decide the payment once they are done on Tapestry, if it doesn't then it's on your head, not ours. As time is of the essence there will be no time for testing. According to the reports given to me a week of testing would require:
1 sample manslayers to test it on.

And in that week the Estrain would have 42 breeding cycles in that time period (every breeding cycle is 4 hours). Each breeding cycle would allow Each active Estrain manslayer to breed 40 eggs that result in 40 fully grown Estrain manslayers in 4 more hours.

After 42 breeding cycles a single planet with only 1 manslayer egg would turn into a planet with billions of active Estrain Manslayers, and millions of Estrain Maulers and Estrain Brain Crabs.


As you can see, the epidemic gets horrible faster than STD's get passed around on a pleasure liner so decide quickly if you feel the risk is worth it.

The Church of Dawn's new light on Druzi shall help guide the unaffected civilians to the IR memory copy centers, they knew that the IR intended to initiate their ultra quarantine and due to speaking to Sector General Palomedes they figured out what that meant. They saw the callous nature of how the IR acted toward their own citizens. They knew that they were all going to die, at least they had fingers at their home base, the "Light of Dawn" Space Station. They didn't bother getting their own memories scanned and instead kept their churches open for medical care and prayer meetings for those who needed it. The people needed spiritual guidance now more then ever, comfort to face the end.

They explained to everyone in the churches that they would be killed and cloned back within a few days. The church of dawn's new light members would be gone for those few days as well as we are brought back at our Headquarters, we would come back then and attend to the people's needs. We would have freighters on the way with supplies.

The Church of the New Dawn would assist and cooperate with all who come to defend the world,

Wyllia read the reports coming in from the rest of known space. It seemed they were not alone in they trouble with the E-strain. Lucky for her, the majority of the populace on Nanabozho was SUARM. They had taken arms and rose to the defense of the planet, capturing and containing all infected that they could find. From what she had heard, her friends in the Horned Dog Cult remained unaffected as well, and had holed up in their main farmhouse. She had dispatched a couple of squads of SUARM out their to help defend them.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she got the message back from GarmenFe of assistance on the way. This was definitely NOT what she had signed up for. She had shut down all active research projects and set her people to scan samples of air, soil, flora and fauna as well as all recent incoming deliveries to the planet. She also had a team in secure bio suits checking out the Edenship lab. Most of the team had become infected shortly after the completion of the project.....
