Current Research: Aetherskippers - A spotted purple ray the size of a football field, with gigantic heron's legs with hugely extended toes. This choate will be imbued/taught by Layne's adepts how to launch itself through space via shadow jumping. It will then be taught how to attach to ships and Bodhi and drag them through as well. They will also have a cloaking or camouflage ability, since they are large and don't move very fast in normal space. Time: 2 Week GT Adapt a variety of the Moringa choate to survive well on Bodhi, and perform all life support system functions. Done Seed large patches of the outsides of all Bodhi with electric carpet choate - hook up to lighting system to give Moringa choate supplementary light. Done Prepare suite of choates (to be additional to Moringa) each of which excels at one task: air purification of toxins, water purification, atmosphere modification (fix or remove elements and major gases), soil purification (worms which solidify chunks of heavy metals which are deposited on top of the soil for easy removal), and organic waste recycling; for use on the Bodhi as a backup system and for deployment onto planets. Time: 2 Week GT Arctic Iris - develop a waist high monocotyledonous plant with a large gorgeous blue and gold bloom which can grow and proliferate on ground which is under the influence of frost generators. The plant's roots produce enough heat to melt a tiny layer of water around the roots. Time: 3 Week GT Develop a "toy" line of Troubadours - 'Doobles', smaller size, suction grip, with ultra-soft grey fur and with only normal flight, for use as a companion, for emotional therapy. When in tactile contact they emit, at an inaudible frequency, a soothing variant of the Builder's song, designed to relax and rejuvenate their bearer. Think a flying ferret/fish of snuggliness. Time: 1 Week GT Disembodied-hand bra choates. Two pairs left in the same drawer can reproduce - this fact will not be included in the consumer's instructions. Time: 1 Week GT ----- Disperse recruitment adverts to Builder worlds, looking for volunteers who wish to study Oleiferan culture and art (new Paths). Done (if Unity is willing you can gain 1 Million pop* from their backup population representing the builders flocking to your side) Set up an academy/training center on Zahaz for initiates of the new Paths, led by the original three and Oleifera. Done Using human genome, develop a choate which can accurately mimic human actions, speech patterns, and support a split Oleiferan consciousness - use will be for sensitive diplomatic encounters and visiting allies' homeworlds. Done- Please name, starts as a H.P. 9 F.S. 3, Profession Diplomat 6 Find multiple specific physiological pathways of Quall reproductive process. Done: Quall N'Haram genetic engineering now available Determine methods which could potentially upset these physiological pathways, resulting in non-pathogenic larva. Multiple vectors are preferable. Sequence the Quall genome from Unity larva and data from Reclamation Chamber. Time: Done data available and useable Create one sessile, autotrophic, self-seeding organism which contains all micronutrients necessary for their growth and development and will spread easily on the surface of Zahaz. Time: Done! 1. Electric carpet - make grass where half of the electron-hopping during the light reactions is captured by silica "veins", which run down into the root systems where each blade networks into a microscopic filamentous mat of wiring. All wires lead back to the seedpod capsule where a huge battery-system is stored. Blades spread outwards from each capsule. A barren world could be seeded with such capsules to produce a giant ball of energy production. Can be tweaked to live in various atmospheres. Time: Done! 2. Moringa choates - currently under development in GT, plant which contains all nutrients necessary for human development and growth . This could also be seeded anywhere and would spread relatively quickly, increase food stocks on remote outposts. Could also be put onto deep-exploration ships to provide O2 circulation and fresh eats. Time: Done! Combat-type choate: 1. Troubador - Looks like a 10ft long deep-sea viperfish with a lamprey mouth, perfectly happy swimming through space. They are attracted to ship hulls, where it attaches via sucker-mouth. A few troubadours is enough for a fighter, more for a capital ship. As more lampreys attach to the vehicle they begin to phosphoresce in time, with tiny green lights flickering up and down their dorsal spines in synchrony. At a critical mass they will begin to vibrate the hull, producing an extremely amplified Builder's Song throughout the entire vessel. Any unexposed metal surface will become a gigantic subwoofer. Hope to create multiple schools, 50-100 individuals per school, enough to pacify a pitched space battle. Time: 1 Week GT 2. Little Nippers - A man-sized grasshopper with oversized razor-sharp manidibles and a insectoid-venus fly trap apparatus directly above the mandibles. Extremely heat-tolerant, to the point of being at home on the plane of fire. May need Quall or Angelis DNA to achieve this level. Intelligence of a trainable dog. Extremely good sense of smell, and very keen on finding Quall. A swarm of Little Nippers would be released from a ship and bound across the burning landscape until they reach a Quall settlement. Thereupon they would leap (considerably high, 27x height for normal grasshoppers so 130ft) and fall upon the shoulders of a Quall. The mandible would instantly slice through the neck, and the flytrap snap shut around the decapitated head. The Little Nipper would bound back to the ship, little insect butt wriggling with joy, and deposit the head to its keeper, getting a Nipper-treat and a head scritching in return. Time: Done !
