Week 8 Space Battle Mission - The Allied Assault Empty Re: Week 8 Space Battle Mission - The Allied Assault

The plans had long since been set for the Unity extermination fleet. It was the sort of singular concerted action made possible by seamless collaboration and a singularity of purpose. Prophets were launched from their home planets, like enormous black spears, towards their targets. Displays appeared before auditoriums filled with tacticians, eagerly awaiting data. This would be the largest full scale invasion attempted by the Unity, and would be used to calibrate further efforts.

One fleet of 10 Prophets each will streak towards each of the planets and moons. All will have been modified with the Extermination Protocol. Before the Prophet carriers arrive at their targets, multiple layers of scouts will determine the situation. Two Void lords will lurk at the outer reaches of each battle, their pilots floating eerily in the void of space. Running quiet, they will perform electronic scouting using eye spies obscured and hidden from view by Builder adepts. These eye spies will go to the surface of the moons and planets, looking for electronic systems or any centralized defenses. Seneschals in wingsuits will also scout the planets in advance of the arrival of fleets. They will flit from location to location using teleportation, carefully using eye-spies and other scout drones in order to plan their jumps in advance and decrease the chance of being caught. Depending on the defenses of the Space Station, it will be scouted in a similar fashion if this is feasible.

Each of the Planets will be attacked by one prophet fleet armed with the Extermination Protocols, 3 Dreadnaughts, 2 Apostles, and 300 Saggitae organized in wings of five. The crew of all ships will be on high alert for boarding actions, and the Dreadnaughts will be prepared to use their gate generators defensively and their reality drills against targets of opportunity. The Prophets will streak past the Unity Fleets during the space engagements, and will land on their target planets. As the Prophets land, Seneschals and Emissaries in protective equipment will harass pockets of E-strain resistance and command centers. Some Vrangian Guard will act as commanders on the ground for the Praetorian Legions backed up by the massive Harbingers. Other Vrangian Guard will use their holo-projectors and hacking ability to sow confusion in the ranks of the E-strain. Void Lords will strike targets of opportunity from the shadows, flitting around the outskirts of the battle as silent assassins.

After scouts have been deployed, a number of drop pods will land infantry into the space station to determine what can be found...

The battle would not go as clock work, as the E-strain were canny foes. It would be a glorious symphony, dissonant and terrible.

The stilletto contingent from before will set a far rear guard along with 50 aegis fighters setting a near rear guard. There will be no illusions, the Estrain counter force will likely be able to wipe out the fighters easily in a standing fight.

Instead of stand and fight they will alert the fleet and act as a screening force, withdrawal from contact while trying to disable as many enemy ships as possible. Hopefully it will buy the Joint fleets enough time to set up a proper defense

The pilots will all be missing a finger or toe, or in the case of immutables will have had a memory scan and be issued a single plasma grenade on top of their normal side arm and survival gear. Blackheart will go to any length to get its people back, but its hoped they will have the courage to make that unnecessary.

Planet 1-6 and Moon 1-2

One IR mothership will follow each arm of the Unity attack. Once the planet is being converted by the Unity Prophets, the Mothership will deploy its compliment and form a blockade.

Domebusters with acid filled warheads will bombard hard points from orbit. Once all clear is sounded by Unity, IR technicians will move in and check the planet for Estrain.

Five Horn Starcruisers and two Interdictors will be waiting to support any of the fleets that need backup.

This will be the standard plan for all targets except the derelict space station.

The Derelict will prove more dangerous and will require boarding parties.

25 cloaked Trident Missile ships will move in along with Unity forces. At the signal from Unity, these TRIDENTs will begin boarding actions deploying teams of Brethren Betas and AntLion Mekanoids. No MDW weapons will be used. That is a direct order to prevent contaminating Unity allies.

If the defense proves too fierce then the AntLion Mekanoids will signal for the Unity soldiers to withdraw. Then the fierceness of the AntLions will truly come to light. Utter destruction of all Estrain is our goal.

The boarding parties will be led by Brethren Captain A100XX "Alox". He is my oldest advisor and was one of Starks brethren captains during the battles on Refuge. He is an Alpha brethren.

Onboard his ship, Captain Alox was drafting up his will. Then as a brethren he realized he had no personal possessions. So he ripped up the will. Then he sat down and folded up the ripped up sheets of paper into paper planes. He placed then on his plastic desk and began thinking about tactics. They were fine, as long as the Estrain didn't developed Starfighters since their last attack.

What about Kingfishers? Thought CPT. Alox.

Then he folded a paper and marked it red.

Alox thought and then said, "Tactical command, can we send in scouts to the derelict. I don't want my men killed by an AOD wormhole weapon."

Deer got the message confused he didn't think of it himself.

"Yes CPT. Alox is brilliant give that man a pay raise, oh we don't pay him? Double rations for a month!". And Deer ordered scouting before Alox's crew arrived onboadd.

Week 8 Space Battle Mission - The Allied Assault Empty Re: Week 8 Space Battle Mission - The Allied Assault

Post  Palomedes Fri Jul 15, 2011 2:32 pm

Sector General Palomedes stood warily on the bridge of his personal flagship. This was the type of operation that required perfect timing, and endless courage.
He wondered if he was getting too old for this stuff.

Around his flagship were five IR Motherships and 20 IR Missile Ships ready to assist the allied assault on the Etsrain worlds. If all else failed he also had a single Mega Dispersal Weapon hidden aboard his flagship. It would only be deployed if their allies betrayed them. Having honor didn't make Palomedes a fool. But he honestly hoped he would never need it.

Bootes Wing Kappa, a star force prepared of 200 IR Gunpods, was also there as a strike force.

The Sector General made an announcement.

"Heroes of Bootes, today we quest into the Polar Expanse hunting Estrain worlds. We will survive, we will succeed. The Fist of Mars is ready to crush those who threaten our citizens.
Be fearless, because our enemies need fear us more than we need fear them.

Today we do not lead this battle. Today we are the cavalry. When the call comes we must be ready to move, all our allies and our citizens are counting on us.

Heroes of Bootes, you will make this old campaigner proud."

When the signal came from Unity or Deer they would be ready.

Black-Gamma: "Dude, why am I flying a damn capitol ship?"
Red-Alpha: "Lay off it man, your a good pilot. You should be proud to be given this assignment."
Black-Gamma: "I should be piloting a fighter, getting into the thick of things."
Red-Alpha: "You just don't like it that the commander won't approve of your 'evasive maneuvers'."
Black-Gamma: "A 720 barrel role is a good tactical maneuver in most cases."
Red-Alpha: "Just focus on the mission please."
Black-Gamma: "Is it bad this thing is going into combat with blackmarketed IR gear onboard. I mean, you don't think they would start shooting at us, do you?"
Red-Alpha: "I don't know, probably not."
Black-Gamma: "We should be extra careful just in case."
Red-Alpha: "Dude, don't do it."
Black-Gamma: "Don't do what?"
Red-Alpha: "I know that look in your eye, the commander will have you head if you pull off one of your stunts in mission."
Black-Gamma: "I wouldn't dream of disobeying the commander."

[1 Arcturus Warship, "Freedom's Haste", will be equipped with a Blackmarket IR-model EM Forcefield sized for a capitol ship. It will make a dive for the space station and deploy troops within. Against the best wishes of the commander, it will perform a tactical barrel roll as it makes its way through the chaos of battle. Hundreds of Recognized and Niphilim Giants will be deployed into the station in order to work with Polmedes men and secure the facility one section at a time. 90 Additional Nano-Fusion Sages will also be deployed into the station and scout the unsecured sections of the station. As promised, 60 Jotun Mark 2 Fighters will perform recon throughout the whole of the battle. Primarily those with thought awareness will be piloting, leading the crew to be heavily weighted toward shadow adepts.]

The Lady Ja'celyn was not happy. 'Why did her father feel whe was not capable of interacting directly with others?'

Turning to the captain of her command ship, the Grinning Death, a Megaladon biopship, she says "Alright, you have all heard the orders from the president. we are to aid the forces of Blackheart Securities. These are the same people that our forces have been working with the past few weeks. From what I can guess of the plans of attack, we will be prefroming a backstop action. Our jobs will most likely be to maintain a safe exit and prevent attacks from the rear. We are going to continue to show the universe that we are a civilized and controlled people that can work with others."

"Comms, hail the Blackheart forces and let them know that we are here to help them"

[forces sent]
5 Dusk class destroyers
2 Megaladon Bioships
25 Piranha biofighters

the forces have orders to aid the Blackheart Securities forces in anyway possible. The destroyers will also fire on any enemy Estrain vessel attempting to enter the zone of conflict.

Week 8 Space Battle Mission - The Allied Assault Empty Re: Week 8 Space Battle Mission - The Allied Assault

Post  UnityPrime Fri Jul 15, 2011 11:23 pm

Prime smiled, soaking in the incoming battle-data. It was like a sea of subtle movements, demanding so much of his mental capacity. The extermination plan was the work of countless Unity tactical minds. It was efficient, ruthlessly so, and practical. Prime thought that it lacked a certain...panache. He corrected it subtly, attempting to make his strategic initiative codes as subtle as possible. To those not watching very closely, it would seem that the Unity would come up with these ideas on their own. Prime hoped this would confound spies, and get at least some allied forces out of the combat alive.

Contingency Plans:

1) If the Purifier is called, a ship which looks exactly like it will appear. It is no the Purifier; instead it is a trap. This mostly hollow metal ball has a number of Praetorians in it to attack boarding parties. Its core is a massive packet of computer viruses. Attempts to hack the Purifier will bring the computer equivalent of super-bubonic plague onto the poor computers attempting to interface with it. After 60 seconds, it will teleport away, and the true Purifier will enter the field. When the Purifier does engage, it will be supported by ten elite Seneschals in Wingsuits. These wingsuits will be constructed from the jet black body of the Purifier, protecting them from Screamer aggression. They will be armed with shield-break artificed equipment, tiny leyas generators, and standard weaponry. If the Purifier is attacked by chill shielded opponents, these elite warriors will disable those chill shields.

2) In the Station boarding party is insufficient, it will be revealed that one of the Praetorian guards is in fact a Sanguine Lord. It will act as a relay for Prime, who will use its incredible technomancy abilities to hack what needs hacking. Prime smiled as he finished relaying that command, knowing that 03 was very excited to actually see hand to hand combat.

3) Four Unity Extensions will act as a final reserve, held back even after Palomedes has been committed. They will act offensively with massive beam strikes, or defensively with the creation of massive evacuation portals, as the situation requires.

4) Suns close to the battle would be watched for revelation nanoplauge, and would be hit with massive EMP missile barrages launched from dreadnaughts as well as Harrowing Radiance from the Apostles.

5) All battles would be monitored for gravitic disturbances. If it seems any wormhole weapons will be deployed, all allied forces will be given the call to evacuate. Unity Extensions and Dreadnaughts will either attempt to redirect such blasts, or evacuate allied fleets.
