Regarding the Fleets of Fate (wk 10 - Ragman, Strykker)

Dear EEF Leadership,

You both have witnessed, during our recent soiree, the extent of the danger that the Fleets of Fate pose. I write to you because I would like to enlist the assistance of the EEF in the defense of the Unity Core. I understand that our personal relationships are tenuous, at best, and that my possible allegiance and loyalty may be questionable. However, having spent a majority of my life in the Free Systems, I value above all else individual free will, and irrespective of my territorial allegiance I will not sit idly by while the free will of every living creature is stripped from them.

I thus ask of you both, and of your subcommanders, your unfettered assistance in this endeavor. I am currently in communication with various other groups for this very purpose. Would you and your leadership be amenable to joining a coalition for the purpose of defending our basic right to maintain individual consciousnesses? What, if any, concerns would you have regarding this endeavor, as I wish to address them directly?

I hope your concern regarding this matter matches my own, and that having witnessed the possibility, you are as motivated as I am. I look forward to working with the EEF in this effort to save the universe.

Yours sincerely,
Su Maehl

**HEM, didn't want to clutter**

To the EEF Leadership,
I intend to commit all my forces to the battle for the core. I will work with you in any regard to defeat this foe.

I also want to insert a team of operatives to take an FoF mothership. Several other factions already possess one and the EEF is arguably the only one with the moral high ground to deserve one.

Please let me know if this is possible.

Childeen

Mr. Maehle
The EEF will do what ever we can to stop the Fleets of the Fate. Whatever any of us may think of each other the Fleets of Fate are too great a danger to us all to not be fought to the fullest extent. Do you or the Sector Generals have any particular plan of defense at this point?

Childeen,

The EEF will also committing sizable resources to stop them from access Unity Core. It sounds like most everyone else will be to. I've been approached by Su Maehle with an offer to work with the IR in this fight and I'm accepting. We can co ordinate our forces. I can mobilize a boarding team and of the chance presents itself they will try to take an FoF mothership.

Field Marshall Strykker,

I am heartened at your willingness to cooperate regarding this matter, and hope this will he the first of many unified actions taken together.

I have been made aware that you are in possession of a weapon that might prove to sway the battle in our favor. I think you refer to it as Anti-Nanite nanites. I'm not sure how they work or how they can be deployed, but if it has the potential to disable the Fleets of Fate, I request you do so. Furthermore, depending on its functionality, would it be possible for you to bring to bear enough of these weapons to doable the 40 or so Motherships heading to the Unity Core?

To this end, what general strategy would you consider for this defense?

I very much look forward to working together, Field Marshall Strykker. May we be and remain united in this common cause for the betterment of all.

Yours sincerely,
Su Maehl

Mr. Maehle

Yes the EEF has such a weapon and it has proven effective against the Fleets of Fate during an engagement in Volanis. We deliver them with missiles so I would mainly be relying on Kalino class ships to deliver them. Though they can easily be apadted for use with any missile.

The way I see it we have to stop the Fleets of Fate from linking up with the Morning Star station and the Dragon of Unity and keep all of them from getting to Unity Core. This leaves us with a two front battle. I don't know if it's possible but we'd probably be better off just destroying Unity Core. Failing that I think it might be best if we split our forces and engaged them at the same time so that one hostile to force doesn't achieve it's goal while we fight the other. If possible it may also be wise to place a large counter boarding force on the Core itself.

The down side to this weapon is that it will shutdown down all nanites in the target area with out regard to the side they're on. Any ship using nanites must stay well out of the area this is especially true for Unity ships the crews will find their uplink cut off. We think this happened to the FoF ships we engaged so they may still not know of this weapon. Regardless it is critical that any Unity uplinked forces stay out of the effected area.

Field Marshall Strykker,

I'm not sure destroying the Unity Core will be an option. While it may well serve the ends, not sure if the repercussions will be better. I'd hate for there to be unintended consequences that are just as grave as the ones we currently face. However, I like your idea of being able to defend the Core internally. You gave me quite a marvelous idea.

What sized force can you bring to bear on this occasion? Approximate numbers, of course. I know that you will not be able to match the numbers the Free Systems and Iron Republic can bring to bear, but I hope, tactically, you will be able fill in the gaps. For your information, the Free Systems will likely employ approximately 1 million ships on this occasion, mostly starfighters. As the Free Systems' ships are not generally defensive in nature, other tactics will have to be employed for the defense of each location.

I do not yet know what the Iron Republic will be willing and able to field, as the Fleetmaster has a lot on his plate. If it were up to me, no less than 100 Starcruisers, several interdictors, a few space stations, and an equal number of starfighters that the Free System will field. Unfortunately, it's not at all up to me.

Again, thank you for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,
Su Maehl

Mr. Maehl,

I take your point about Unity Core, though I can't really imagine that any unforeseen repercussions could be worse than all sentient life in the universe being pulled against their will into an alien hive mind. Honestly I don't know how we'd do it anyway. I suppose you could bring it up with Prime of Unity as a possibility thought I doubt he'd go for it. I also plan the on dispatching a large force ground troops to Unity Core. They can't enter the Core as the Quantum Gate is shut to all but even if they are only on the hull they should be able to minimize the number of hostiles that gain entry and so long as we can keep them out we have a chance.

I can bring about 50 capital ships to and roughly 300 fighters and drones. I will have to confer with my subordinates before I can give you exact numbers of ready ships they have at the moment.

Field Marshall Strykker,

There are two back-up plans for the destruction of the Core, however, it would be much more effective to destroy the Morningstar Station, as it is the communicator that will broadcast the signal that will convert all living beings. The problem: all possible Unity defenses in existence are employed in the Morningstar Station. If need be, follow mine and the Iron Republic lead. In the mean time, let's focus on destroying the fleet.

If you want in on the invasionary force in the Horror Nexus (aka Morningstar Station), please let me know.

As I mentioned, I have employed 1 Million+ ships for this purpose. The Iron Republic is engaging heavy, and I encourage you to follow the Free Systems' lead in this matter. Wait for my signal before you attack. Trust me, you don't want to be ANYWHERE near the field of battle until that happens. Once I give the all clear, I request you attack from the rear. I will forward you the coordinates. If you can cause forces to disengage the major group, all the better. The Free Systems will be supporting your efforts with approximately 200,000 ships, if not more. The officer in charge of that fleet, Captain Sora Fleshstealer. If you do not hear from him, then leading the forces will be Captain Horatio Velsquez.

My men will keep you abreast of all field operations. Best of luck, Field Marshall. May we be successful, and may we defeat this menace.

Yours sincerely,
Su Maehl

Mr. Maehl,

I take it the Unity is employing that Purifier thing again? Fine we'll wait for the all clear and then come in hot. I will be bringing plenty of fire power. Also I will dispatch infantry to link up with any friendly forces on the Morning Star Station I think some Exorcists should prove very useful in that part of the plan. We'll break up their formations and distract as much as we can. Also I will be sending forces specifically to engage the Dragon of Unity. That thing is as much the key as the Station itself. I know its damaged and if it gets the chance to repair itself no good will come of it.

Mr. Meahl

I ask you to consider the fact that until Prime can control it the Dragon of Unity is a hostile combatant. It is also currently damaged and so less able to effect the battle. If it can self repair your fleet will be caught between it and the Fleets of Fate. My arc light gunpods can keep it from repairing itself and engaging your fleet. Once Prime gains control they will halt all action against the Dragon. Please keep this in mind and do not interfere with my pilots.

Field Marshall Strykker.
