Distress Signal: Regarding the Stability of Hener 12

** This a planetary distress signal from Hener 12. To any parties with the will and ability to assist. We are need of ships to help evacuate the population and find a way to stabilize it. The population is a peaceful one and the core of its economy has been food and finely crafted artwork. Warning: We suspect a sentient force is involved as the planet was stable until now. Again, this is planetary distress signal from Hener 12. We need your help.

This one is most willing to help the citizens of Hener 12. Please let this one know if there is anything it can do to assist.

"Finally someone has answered" said the distressed Henry Dillenger. Clearly the severity of the situation had shortened his span of attention.

"We would surely like you to deploy whatever ships you have to the effort of evacuating the people. Fighters or freighters, it doesn't matter. We will take whatever help we can get. We are also sending in volunteers to help find a way to stabilize the planet. If you have anyone with any particularly strong talents and the willingness to risk their life for the sake of this beautiful planet, we would be very much in your debt. Please get the word out and send help as soon as you can."

If you are willing, the Unity can utilize our technologies to determine your issue and the best way to approach it. At the very least, we can happily help with the evacuation through the use of Dreadnaughts. However, are you and your people willing to accept Unity help?

Its a planetary crisis caused by volcanic and seismic activity that we can't explain just yet. Given the circumstances, we are in no position to refuse anyone's help. That includes the Unity. Please do what you can.

"We could launch corrupted khazgha wood into the crust to stabilize the planet. But it might have unforseen side effects and begin to grow across the planet. Would that help or just make it worse?"

I don't think it would work all that well as a means of stabilization, the planet is rupturing from the inside and I doubt the physics of the situation would be solved by a firmer crust. Even if it did help, the end result would be a total loss of the planets current industry, which is farming.

We believe this may actually be some sort of attack. We are sending a group of earthmancers to dig deep into the planet and locate the source of them problem. Perhaps you could send in some muscle just in case their is someone or something down there. Alternatively, you could do what most are doing and help evacuate the people with whatever space craft you are willing to spare.

General,

Seeing as you have had the decency to show me good will when I have been but a stranger, courtesy and self-morality demand that I do the same. I have no grand fleet of ships, but in my possession are 10 Starfreighters which can be spared to aid in the evacuation of the people who are in danger. My freighters shall be prepped and sent at your word, please respond as soon as you are able so that we may save additional lives.

It is done, the ship captains have been ordered that once they have come into orbit they are to follow orders from whomever you have placed in charge. Hopefully there are still lives to save from this catastrophe, lead them well.

"If the planet is going to be abandoned, destroying it is an incredible waste. I can certainly make good use of it, no matter its condition."

I want to try something new out with leyas, and I need something on the scale of a planet to see if it works.

"We have made no such plans to abandon the planet. Our first priority is to save the population. Second only to that is the objective of salvaging as much of the planet and its infrastructure that we can. So no, we would prefer you to not blow up our planet."

Henry set down the communicator and face palmed. The problem with sending out a galactic wide distress signal is that just about anyone can and will respond.

A message is sent out again, this time with a header for Ryuk.

"While that sounds just fine, why not do it to a planet under enemy control? Or under neutral control? Getting rid of good resources currently under our control seems like a waste."

I rather not try something complete new, while at the enemy's doorstep . . .

Another message, etc etc.

"Why not? What would happen if you failed?"

Well, think of how much raw leyas power you need to destroy a planet by making it explode. If anyone screws up, it could all reflect back through the group, the best thing that could happen is we are rendered unconscious, the worse, it would release all the energies and amplified them int pure leyas carnage, destroying everything , including us.

"Right.... but why would we want that kind of thing happening in our space? A second ship to aid you in the event that you are still alive seems like the best course of action, and that can be provided even in enemy space."

I have received a note from a third party that you had interest in using Henner 12 to do weapons testing in the event it were to be abandoned. To this enquiry I politely decline your request as we have no intentions of abandoning the planet. I apologize for any disappointment this response may provide. I am, however, eager to see you shortly. Perhaps we can discuss this matter at greater length, if you so choose, at that time.

I was having a discussion with Garmin Fe about this, and he declined. It just seemed convenient, as the populous will be gone, and the whole planet is in upheaval. Due to the nature of what I was trying to figure out, this natural upheaval would make my task easier. Which is why I asked Garmin Fe.

I dropped this after he decide that he wasn't going to let me, Why are you getting involved now? I though this was solved a few days ago?
