More so than any other IC, Maehl has worked and made deals with most of the players in the game.
The only other IC that comes close is Blackheart.
This win for Maehl is a long time coming and its been earned the hard way over two space campaigns.

Half the players don't even look in forums that don't belong to their faction, so some might not even have known there was bidding going on

You can't discredit someone who is open about his business practices. Besides, its not like he obtained the position through honor of combat or allegiance to the republic. He got it with money, meaning, as long as he's making money, they will respect his position.

He's too powerful to try to confine. If they try to, he could respond with, "Ok, you want me to strip down my company because it doesn't fit your regulations? Not happening. Ok everyone in every faction that isn't IR, we're going to war!"

Sorry for the late replies everyone! I was at GenCon over the weekend, and had a HELL of a time getting back on Monday. I am getting to all of the replies, and I'm looking forward to the week's action!

Sad to see that this is the finale though. I'm curious to see what happens next!
