Matron Or'cova arrives in orbit above Anatos Hao 3

She was ancient by all accounts, and Uthvelor wife of a Warchief. She even claimed she had escaped the prison dimension of Les'tas'tral.

Her name was Matron Or'cova

She was living in a long haul Model 212 Starfighter with her pilot a Kasanthian Devotee Ermanis Melchos.

His Nightmares really kept the ship going, they were fearless.

They launched pods down towards the fungal surface of the planet aiming for one of the teleport fungi pads.

But all passengers were still aboard the 212.

Matron Or'cova clicked the transmit button hoping Gilmour could hear her. She wore a rumpled bag of a dress and leaned on a cane.

The Uth were known to look corpselike, but Matron Or'cova was a living breathing alien.
She had a large gold ring on her finger with a swirling rose of diamonds.

"Gilmour can you hear me? Admiral Yr sends her best wishes. she tells me you desire to learn the arts of a Shadow Mancer. I don't really care why you want to learn this. I do care that I do not see you. But you must be ready. Are you ready Gilmour?" asked Matron Or'cova.

Matron Or'cova will say, "the pods contain Leyas Generators. Five of them. They each have an ascending level of power. When you are ready open the pod marked 1 and we will begin."

Oh, Michael could hear. The whole of Habitat III was a massive reciever, and could pick up just about every available wavelenth of incoming radiation; that transmission included. Despite that, it takes a little bit for him to reply.

It was a good thing that Admiral Yr had the topology map of Habitat III already, or those teleportaion matricies would be almost invisible. They looked nearly identical to the vast fungal forest that surrounded them on all sides, and the only realy difference between them and other locations was the way the network branched through that location, channeling energies in all the right places. Indeed, obscuring how his designs operated was one of his greatest advantages.

A transmission was soon sent from the surface, though the exact location was hard to pinpoint. It seemed to be changing constantly. The video that went along with it was the ever-familiar Scientist in his same dull room.

"I can hear you well. I am currently setting up some devices so you can see what's going on on the ground. For the purposes of our 'training' event, you can assume that my mind is located here." As he says the word here, a 3D reconstruction of the area around the pods would be generated. Just off to the side was a strange glob of glassy slime, run through with innumberable red fibers. It was obviously connected to the network in multiple places. Michael gestures to it, identifying it as his proxy. "The network itself will provide me with the means to physically interact with the world."

As he speaks, a tendril of fungal fibers would reach out of the living ground below, the tip split into a amorphous tangle. It would reach down and wrap tightly about pod one, opening it with shocking dexterity.

"I am ready to begin."

While the 3D reconstruction was in real-time, The Scientist's messages were, as usual, not.

It had been a long and tiring week and Matron Orcova was not as young as she once was.
She sipped from the recycled water watching the fungal tendrill holding the Leyas Generator.
Already the fungus seemed to be able to hide itself in shadows using the Leyas.
Basic Leyas Sight and Leyas theory had been learned.

The Uth Matron was impressed by how fast the scientist learned.

"A real challenge before we move onto the next lesson," said the Matron.
"It is time for you to create your first Nightmare. Look into your own mind and imagine it sprouting from the ground near your Target. Creating Nightmares are like throwing grenades they will hurt both friend and foe. The weakest of Nightmare is the Least Nightmare.
Once you have created a single Least Nightmare you will be ready to progress to more advanced techniques like creating bolts that chill the Target and bolts that can draw the life from your target."

Ooc I talked with Admin and they said as long as you control CV Beta 4 you can learn Leyas much faster (temporal radiation and all) . This first week allows you General Leyas lvl 1 and Shadow Leyas lvl 1

There was something truly wonderful about this whole experience, and The Scientist wondered vaguely to himself why he had held off trying to develop these skills earlier. The obvious answer was that he much preferred developing a system that could maintain itself on its own, and leyas manipulation required him to actually act... but this was a little too enjoyable to ignore.

Better late than never.

He still remembered back when he had to close his eyes to properly concentrate; now, the option wasn't even available. Despite that issue, he had gotten better at visualizing the results of his actions- and in this case, he'd be visualizing something into existence.

And there it was. A thin, spiderlike leg would step its way out from between the tangle of fungi that matted the ground, testing the surface for a moment before pulling the rest of the nightmare from the shadows. Its body was a mottled, dripping sphere, and dozens of legs circled its perimeter.

Unable to find anything to attack specifically, it would simply claw at the ground and anything near it, seemingly unconsciously aware that something was there. Needless to say, it couldn't do any real, lasting damage.

A message was then sent to Or'cova.

"Interesting... I assume that's what we're looking for?"
