Stoking the Fires of Hate

Layne Yr snickered meanly as she watched the Energy Bridges open on the planet.

She lifted up her Mic and amplifier, and said , "Church of Fools, the Bishop Kasanth, once a member of your order sends his best wishes. Your faith is brittle and will crack. I have send hundreds of Shadow Assassins to spread among your ranks and among the civilians.
You will never find them even if you start a galactic inquisition."

Then the Energy Bridges will close. No "apparent" soldiers stepped through the Energy Bridges.

The TRILAT planet despoiler arrives in system chasing the starfreighters of an unknown rogue element within the Kasanthian Federation.

The cardinal of the planet sends out three flash messages. The first to General Vulfrym telling him the K-fed is heading toward the planet. They claim to be chasing rogue elements, however a planet despoiler is in the pursuit fleet.

Seeing as Infernos was a hive queen world deep in IR territory, and when taken by Gen Vulfrym it was with the consent of both F. Kal Marx and Sector General Deers, it can be expected that the IR would have tried to stop this fleet had they seen it. The second message will be to the Iron Republic, letting them know that the K-fed has breached their security checkpoints and defenses, and are in infernos space.

The final would be to the EEF proper letting them know the same.

The cardinal would then call for planet wide prayer to sanctify the planet against the corruption of the Devil bishop Kasanth and his unholy minions.

"PRAY HARDER, YOUR GOD IS OBVIOUSLY DEAF AND CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Said the Kasanthian transmissions being broadcast from unknown locations around the planet.

The TRILAT Despoiler kept its distance at the edge of Infernos moons. But its broadcasts would be louder and louder. It would be pretty clear to anyone with Leyas sight that Troubadours were enhancing the sound.

A blackheart Defense fleet consisting of 50 aegis fighters and a few VESPA frieghters enters the system. If the fleeing freighters are Kasanthian defectors then they could be of immense value to anyone who they trust.

The Squadron commander hails the frienghters, "Unknown freighters the church of one will never let you land, but we have a place for you. Alter course to bring you to the night side of the planet. Stay in low orbit. Our fighter wing will defend you from the K-fed. Once we can break line of sight with the pursuit fleet we will give you further instructions."

"Please acknowledge or alter course."

The fleeing freighter had all the markings of a standard Kasanthian vessel, of course other than the obvious fact that it was being chased and dodging just enough fire from a much larger more impressive Kasanthian ship. Unlike other Kasanthian ships, this one had a disturbing lack of nightmares in tow, in fact only one that was helping as a half -arsed co-pilot. The nightmare did not have any of the disadvantages to technology that his K'iou owner did and for this he was currently being kept around. Though there was the sad unfortunate truth that Viggo had been told that his nightmare would all be expunged and this was the last nightmare enslaved to him, and he was basically leading it directly into slaughter by accepting the terms of General Vulfrym and Childeen Blackheart. In general, this was a sad excuse for a surviving freighter , having an immutable pilot, using a nightmare as a co-pilot, then the remaining crew being Viggo, the not-so-accepted Kasanthian, his very loyal follower Balthazar with his Oleifera love, Anemone Zuria. They had been working together in much harmony before the apprentices realized what it meant to be a real Kasanthian, and that Viggo was really just a dimwitted K'iou armorsmith that was a pawn to Lurlock, so they started taking orders from Layne Yr instead. Viggo had provided the apprentices with the skills, weapons and nasty toys to make their own statements.

Now this larger, truly unique ship was new to the Kasanthian fleets, a ship know as the Chrysalis originally designed by the inner circle of Viggo the Kasanthian's forces was ironically now in pursuit of the one responsible for making it. The Apprentices, specifically Jezebel who had taken control of this vessel and dearly wanted to end the charade of being in league Viggo the Grand Spastic. She was plain sick and tired of waiting around for him to mumble stutter out a damn sentence while oogling her and every other female that took to the Kasanthian dress styles. She often wondered what would have happened had Viggo actually come into the presence of Layne Yr, having his eyes glaze over and the stupid immature expression form to his ugle k’iou features. Who the hell was he to think he could give a loyal follower a vessel of their own only to think they would be fully accepting of being sacrificed toward the forward progress of the ship. Nothing Viggo did was fully cohesive, or thought out. She was quite eager to finally be working for a true Grand Admiral such as Layne Yr, and other of the faith like the Vicious Captain Axis, Rebellious Ryuk; even others through extension of the TRILAT like Prime of Unity, Garmin Fe and Scientist Gilmour whom her former mentor just could not seem to play nice with. Jezebel did have all these ambitious goals but was calculated enough to not go out and start an intergalactic war, especially since Viggo was high tailing it to the Lions of Earth ofthe EEF and the Free Systems. She had many nasty toys at her disposal within this vessel, but knowing Viggo he would be the first one to slip up and open the floodgates for the impending demise. It would just be a waiting game, her vessel along with others of the Yrs Kasathian fleet. All it would take is one wrong button pressed or the nerves of the passengers to screw with the freighters mechanisms.

At this point, Viggo knew his time was counting down, and the weight of his mistakes was barring down on him. He signalled to his last nightmare to hit the singal beacon. Anxious he nearly pointed out the cargo purge which would have made the Kasanthians job that much easier and killed them all, well maybe not Anemone Zuria but that was very debatable and this was definitely not the time for it. The second choice would have been the disengage to the thrusters, which again would have been very bad altering the course for the worse, spiraling to a fiery death to the planet below. And if by chance they survived , as Blackheart had told the native Church of Oners would never let them land let alone crash and survive to tell the tail. Finally Balthazar gestured to the correct button for the signal, "Master, it is time. Please speak, and let your words save us." And with that, Viggo began to broadcast; now more conscious than ever about the way he sounded and how high strung he actually was that everyone‘s lives depended upon what he had to say :
" This is Viggo- formerly working as a Kasanthian, and now ....bec...being pursuited by them. We are low on essential supplies, though I ...cur...come with raw materials for armorsmithing and herbalist …twa…treatments that i have picked up along the way. As the general requested, I have removed myself from the ...nor...nightmare leadership position, all but one that is helping to evade. I have the I hope that ...Vot...Vulfrym will at least allow it a running head start, or if we must he will grant the right to end its existence by ...mac....my own doing. I am ...hurm...heartily acknowledging and accept your terms. We await the word of the …Gru…General, and wish to help"
