Listening Post Theta Gamma 120 is located on a desolate desert moon on the very edge of the Draco Constellation. It stands in relatively close proximity to both the Iron Republic and Unity controlled space. A few dozen light years further on is the colony of San Martin, mutually controlled by both Clover of Unity and Fort Lendill. The exact area itself is functionally a neutral zone, which many factions have a small and benign presence within. Theta Gamma 120 is just one of two posts in the area controlled by the EEF. Usually the post monitors the shadow plane so that they can observe traffic in the area and respond to incoming threats.

An area several thousand miles away from the thin atmosphere of the moon began to briefly emit readings that went beyond most of the listening post's instruments. At which point, during a retinue shift change, a temporal wormhole opened and engulfed much of the system, leaving the post itself just within our own realm of reality. Starships crested the edge of the event horizon and a space battle was clearly to be seen in progress.

A lone fighter appeared to be fleeing the chaos, a Jotun aircraft of an unknown model type diving for the moon's surface. Close behind it followed what appeared to be an Iron Republic frigate, also of an unknown model. The Jotun dodged gunfire as it broke atmo, narrowly escaping the aim of their cannons. As the fighter descended further, it rotated sporadically in the direction of the cruiser and a surge of leyas energy was focused on a point in space directly in the path of the Iron Republic starship. The overwhelming energy gouged the ship from nose to tail. Falling backwards toward the surface of the moon the Jotun faced forward once again and strafed the ground. The careening cruiser then let out a domebuster round that impacted the surface near to its target, a wave of sand and rock overcame the fighter and it crashed along with its opposition.

Post 120 then observed even greater surges of leyas energy as the energy bridge opened by the fighter's attack began to spew forth storms of power. Brethern who had survived the crash spanned out upon the surface to secure their prey. At which point an open hail to all was transmitted from the core of the wormhole.

"People of an alternate timeline, we do not mean you harm. The wormhole here was opened by terrorist rebels from our universe. They mean to escape their own fate of execution and in doing so corrupt your reality with their influence. We will hunt them down and leave. Already we are closing the gate between our realm and yours. We estimate the damage will be repaired in 42 standard hours, 15 standard minutes, and 34.976 standard seconds, starting now. Do not interfere. We are the Metatrons of Darkness."

Meanwhile.

A Sylvan Hunter with an obvious shard heart implant and a crystal arm surged from out of the rubble and worked away the sand and rock with his powers. The broken craft revealed itself from the earth and from out of its co-pilot seat came an Agoleth. The hunter knelt down to the Agoleth. "Ancient piece of crap! Are you okay?"

"I am fine," said the siren's voice, "this shell is undamaged. It will sustain me for the time being."

"Good then, we must go," growled the beast-like planar knight. "They will be upon us soon and we must seek out help if we are to survive."

Just then a troop of Brethern crested the nearby dune. Acting quickly the hunter lifted the sand around them and plunged them into the desert. Several climbed their way out. The hunter lunged and tore out the spine of one. One brethern responded with rifle fire while two more projected organic cutting beams from their hands, just missing their target. The Agoleth responded with her own beam and the remaining two were dispatched with heavy blows from the hunter's augmented arm.

"More will be hear soon," Said the hunter.

"I hear her Carvex, I can hear her song. She is alive in this reality. It is faint and I cannot touch it yet. She will not hear me well from where we are, but I know for sure that Angel D still lives."

"Then we must get to her and warn her. For the sake of this timeline."

[Currently the space battle at the wormhole is near to its conclusion with the Iron Republic-like ships dominating the opposition. A downed fighter and freighter lay on the surface of a desert moon. Both ships have advanced technology. Currently, the freighter is being disassembled by nanites while it continues to spew forth advanced Brethern clones onto the surface. Violent leyas storms have expanded across the entire surface of the moon, which will increase the likelihood of heavy casualties to any troops deployed. A conversation between the two fighter pilots was recorded at long range, though they come from an alternate universe, they may have knowledge of future events and be willing to talk.]

Admiral Layne Yr looked down at the strange Kiou she had nicknamed Snow Piggy who was underheel. He might have a frozen crystalline artifact for a heart but he still had his passions.
"Snow Piggy thank you for the information you have brought me. You are always welcome for a visit.

Once Snow Piggy was gone, the Grand Admiral wondered if she should confront Garmin Fe and entice him to help her? With the info Snow Piggy had provided, she had enough to trap Angel D perfectly. Did she need Fe's help or was his subordinates intelligence enough?

She would play it close to her bodice. Much like the bodice dagger she now wore.

Two Behemoth StarCruisers with full compliment were sent in to drive back the FoDM. Another 50 Yrs Starfighters would appear from the shadowy portals while they focus their chill gatlins on Nanites and disabling enemy vessels in that order.

Behemoths will charge the enemy capital ships .

Attacks will not be made against allies or TRILAT members.

If Angel D shows up, I want 2 Kasanthian Missile ships and 15 Yrs 2 Starfighters to shadow in and focus on disabling her ship and taking her captive.

00c. Yes Angel D if you are in that is a challenge.
And I'm putting money on it.

Open Play Week 2 Hunt - Listening Post Theta Gamma 120 (Open to All Players) Empty Sector General Palomedes sends a clone through the wormhole

Post  Palomedes Thu Sep 15, 2011 1:54 am

Sector General Palomedes was tired, so tired, after days of mourning his son.
But now he had a chance, a chance to recover the only thing in this world he had ever truly loved other than the Service and the I.R.
His small shuttlecraft zipped past the fighting ships aiming straight for the Temporal Wormhole.
What awaited on the other side, the father had no way of knowing, but he also knew he could not at least try!

Back on the Lance of Bootes, the real Sector General Palomedes sighed. He hated he had to leave this task to lesser clone, but he had so much to do here in this dimension. And the Board had demanded the technology of the Fleet of the Dark Metatrons (FoDM), so the Sector General had little choice. Honor demanded he not leave his post, but his fathers whims had broken him enough to ask Fleet Master Deer for a few specific clones for specific purposes.

"Give them hell, old chap," said Sector General Palomedes seeing the ship finally disappear into the Temporal wormhole, and turned his attention toward the battle at hand.

"Vice Captain Porthos please get ready to relay my plans to the appropriate crew C.O." said Palomedes, "Domebuster shots will be used for targeted disabling of the FoDM Mothership. It will be backed up by the sniping techniques of the excellent crews of the 5 Horn-Class Starcruisers in my fleet using their special chemical rounds to cut off reinforcements inside the enemy vessel. One hundred and fifty Raptors will be in ship to ship defensive formations. This will present their Raptor Plasma Cannons outward like mobile defenses for the Capital Ships.
They are not the fastest and so have to use their numbers to their advantage."

Then, thought Palomedes, we launch the boarding pods and reclaim the technology of the Dark Metatrons. Then I will be able to convince the Board to follow my newest endeavour!

Palomedes

Open Play Week 2 Hunt - Listening Post Theta Gamma 120 (Open to All Players) Empty Re: Open Play Week 2 Hunt - Listening Post Theta Gamma 120 (Open to All Players)

Post  MaehlHoldings Fri Sep 16, 2011 4:16 am

Maehl sat down and received the strangest report. First, there was another weird wormhole, then a new form of Metatrons, and then there's no real sense of who can be considered adversarial and who wasn't. He then saw the report from the Stockholders: steal the technology. All of it.

Oh boy, that can't be good. Su knew that he wouldn't be able to stop the Iron Republic, especially if they were sending Palomedes who, unlike many other Sector Generals, was very competent in what he did. In fact, he may very well be the best, per his record. Most unfortunate.

But there was the matter of the individuals on the planet. What did they want? He knew who and what terrorists were, which were merely enemies of the Iron Republic. He had to learn more. He'd bring Garmin Fe, once they were rescued ... or captured, whatever that means.

He sure wished he still had his squad of Da'uhnb warriors. They'd be infinitely useful in this case. It would also mean that he'd have the help of the Temporal Empire to figure out this mess. Unfortunately, Mr. Blood wasn't as amicable as Xec Cex, who he missed terribly, and Mr. Blood said something about being away for a few weeks. The comment made no sense to Su, considering mastering time and space should prevent the need for such a break in communication, but Su knew better than to question the agents of the Temporal Empire. So, instead, he did this the hard way.

A small squad of 100 (Free Systems) Tridents, fully armed, would be deployed, cloaked, to the Post 120. Their first action would be to drop a radio to the pair. "Temporal Refugees, we are of the Free Systems. We are here to help. If you can, make your way to the coordinates on this radio. We will extract you and take you to a safe location, where you will be granted an audience with Free Systems leadership to relay any message you desire." There, as many Tridents as needed will attempt to avoid the storm to make its way to their location, do a pick up, and get out. They will Shadow Jump to Free Systems space, close to Maxa Provo 9. They will be advised that, since the creature has a shard heart, he will be brought forth to an audience with Garmin Fe and members of the Free Systems for a conversation.

Troops will be a mix of Earthers and Tzira, with a mix of IR weaponry (i.e. plasma rifles, mach pistols), and Grey Weaponry. If pinged by the Trilat, advise we will rescue the refugees and do any holocon/informational exchange once they are out of harms' way. If IR/EEF/Ft. Lendill pings, state that the ships are on formal Temporal Imperial business and will not interfere in any other activities. If E-Strain attack and the numbers are even, attack and make way to the refugees first. If overwhelmed, call in IR for help. If Estrain/AOD appear after extraction, take the route that puts Kasanth between them and the Angel D's forces, then shadow jump out. If E-Strain forces are too great, send in 4 Starcruisers, 10 Light Frigates, 100 Kingfishers (fully armed with disablers and a Cerebrus cannon) and 1000 Stilettos armed with anti-starfighter disablers to disable the Estrain forces to give the Tridents enough time to shadow jump out. These latter forces, all marked as Free Systems are only the cavalry, and only will be called in in the event of AOD appearence, and will only attack her E-Strain (or those strange blue creatures that showed themselves at the end of the Defense of the Unity).

100 Kingfishers will be sent in to draw away the enemy. A deadly copy of Angel D will go in to rescue the two alternate history heroes using an Albatross Starfreighter.

"I hear you were looking for me," she says waiting with baited breath.

25 Albatrosses will be focused on distractions.
