Important Message to all Players involving Open Play Mission Format
A message to all Players: as this is week 1 of open play I have already noticed a problem with players using improper format for submitted missions.
Please Look at the open play submission notes in that section for the proper format.
Only Garmin Fe and Ryuk used the appropriate Format for missions.
Rules and in character info for a mission must be seperated by a ------ and have explicit information about what info is being requested from players for this mission in the lower section.
While we did approve Orleos and Rols mission concepts this week, neither mission are in correct format when posted in the Approved section. That might have been my fault for not refusing both missions based on wrong format.
All players please review format for how missions must be posted. In the future weeks if any format other than the one we request is used then that mission will be denied even if it looks like fun.
This is may seem arbitrary but it will make a huge difference when a player narrator goes back to try and write up the story event for the mission. If you don't follow the format you are making your life more difficult as a player narrator.

Re: Important Message to all Players involving Open Play Mission Format
Hey, in cases where we are the antagonist for a mission, is it ok for us to post in said mission? Particularly, I wanted to show what forces were being brought to bear against the E-strain planets, and Layne Yr obliged me by showing what other forces in the Trilat are doing.
In such a case, are we in violation of rules if we are providing flavor?

In Week 2 Open Play and Beyond, please designate Antagonists, I will update notes to conform as well.
Antagonists are players who get to post attack or defense threads but are not the actual players of the mission. Antagonist rewards will also be decided by Admin.
Thank you for your compliance
Re: Important Message to all Players involving Open Play Mission Format
This is perhaps a good time to give you all an idea of how I planned to handle the responses of both Unity Prime and Layne Yr in the mission to Iyo.
First, Unity Prime. Since the narration directly involves the Unity and the Iron Republic, they are of course welcome to specify how they intend to attack the planets and prepare for eventualities as antagonists. That said, as the mission goals are put forth, this is not their mission to win or lose. The people who are directly responsible for the loss or salvation of billions is in the hands of those players listed in its title.
Second, Layne Yr. Since the Kasanthians have not been a part of the Unity-IR pact to destroy E-Strain across the galaxy, they do not really enter the scene automatically from the side of the villains. On the side that's for the mission goal, it seems that Garmin Fe choose not to inform the Kasanthians of his intentions, perhaps because they are an 'evil' faction. At the moment her response to the conflict will simply either get no mention or have little of consequence. However, if her relationship to the events taking place is strengthened through in-character interaction with other factions in-the-know, then her response will taken in full.
If for some reason the in-character conversations lead the admiral to want to perform a different action, I will of course allow her to modify her response. Modifying a response means using the EDIT button on your original post. No double posting unless it is within the rules of the mission. I do however ask that anyone who edits their mission post a brief explanation of what changes were made. Considering the impact it would have, I may interpret their actions as occurring later in the timeline of events.
[Edited for greater clarity. Several unnecessary sentences removed.]

Re: Important Message to all Players involving Open Play Mission Format
For all future missions going forward. If player's faction is not listed and they are not listed as either players invited or as antagonist THEY MAY NOT POST. Even if it makes sense to.
One of the many purposes of missions getting posted in the Submissions section: If a player feels they should be allowed access they can ask at that point before the mission gets posted players begin formulating mission responses.
Personally I doubt the player in Temporal Empire would have devoted so many full-blooded Da'uhnb if he knew there was a chance of early attack by other TRILAT members.
No changes at the moment though. We move forward. We will finish off week 1 missions, and in future missions posts all players will not post unless they are mentioned overtly or their faction is allowed in as either players or as Antagonists.
Neither Unity Prime nor Layne Yr will gain reward for their posting as they are neither listed as allowed factions to join nor were they invited to the mission through roleplaying.
Garmin Fe will have choice this week as to how he will narrate their postings.
In the future, Week 2 Open Play and beyond, any non-invited players who join a mission will have their Army Morale drop by 50% and their post will not count. Instead please request that you get added to the mission during Open Play Mission Submission.
