As Ar'yay and her honor guard walked past the black sandy dunes with their bleached Quall skulls.

She reached the temple's edge, and stepped inside.

Inside she was greeted by the smell of roasting meat. She was greeted by a hunched creature, who wore a Quall Leather Cloak. The horned head of the Quall Warrior whose skin it had once been hung limply to the side. The creature turned to her its wilted body standing over the cooking body of a Baribur.
The creature smiled at Ar'yay and she wasn't really sure what she was looking at.

"Do I know you?" asked Ar'yay, because she could find no reference to this alien's familiar form. It looked human, but stretched taut.

"Your Progenitor Queen certainly did," smiled the creature revealing a smile that seemed to big. The teeth were thick, almost comically so. It reached a long clawed hand down and cut a section from the arm of the cooking Baribur, and began to masticate it while speaking, "I am the most honored creature your kind has ever known, Hive Queen. The Progentor Hive Queen beget hive Queens in her Hosts." It crunched loudly through a bit of bone. Then it ripped off another chunk and began to loudly chew it and continued speaking, "Some of the hosts implanted by those Hive Queens, would also again beget Hive Queens."

"So? Every Quall knows that, what does any of that have anything to do with you?" asked Ar'yay wondering what manner of creature had summoned her here.

"Quall N'drone never ask where they came from," said the creature, "And Quall are encouraged never to ask why. Simply receive the information on the subject from the Hivemind. Follow the Queens orders. Follow the Hive Queen Councils orders. Don't Question, don't think, don't wonder. Your children have preached the love of the hive. That is why you are a rogue. All that keeps your executions from happening is the rivalry of the Twin Queens Ardana HiveQueen and Andara HiveQueen, twins in life, both Queens borne off the horn of the Progenitor Queen before her untimely death at the hand of I.R. Planetkiller Missiles unleashed on us by Azrael of the Falosini. You have wondered within the Hivemind why it is the Hive Queens Council consider the I.R. Board of Directors equal. These humans of the Board of Directors are the most malicious, vicious and destructive creatures the Quall had ever discovered. They were the first species we met with our depth of anger! Ha. Then the progenitor died he he he."

Ar'yay growled, "You say we."

"I was the first host of the Quall," said the creature, "Or should I say, I was the host of the transitional being that used me to become the Projenitor Queen. She lived in my head for more lifetimes that you could ever hope to consume, and she ripped her way from my skull. Only her children learned so easily to use the Leyas. The Progenitor had to learn it the hard way, so when she ripped her way from my skull she did not consume me in fire. It was agonizing but her time in my body made me immortal and made me evolve in strength and power. Now I am forever."

"Why did you ask me to come here?" asked Ar'yay becoming even more suspicious as she watched the First Host munch away on the body of the Baribur.

"You have been labelled a Rogue Hive Queen," said the First Host, "You are shunned by all but Andara HiveQueen's supporters. You will soon be killed by them. Or you can offer your hive to serve a patron worthy of your destiny."

"You speak suspiciously like an Ancient Evil," said Ar'yay HiveQueen, "Patron? Like Warmonger was our patron during the Kias Wars?"

"I am no Ancient Evil," said the First Host as it swallowed more of the flesh of the Baribur, dribbling onto its Quall skin robe, "But ask me any question other than my name and what I did before I served the Progenitor and I will share it. There is good meat here, would you care for some?"

The Temple of the Rogue HiveQueens (Can only be seen in-character by Aryay) Empty Re: The Temple of the Rogue HiveQueens (Can only be seen in-character by Aryay)

Post  Ar'yayhivequeen Wed Jun 15, 2011 5:16 am

Ar'Yay hive queen closed her eyes for a second and took in a breath. If what this creature said was true then, well, she didn't know exactly what to think really. Millions of questions filled her mind, most related to the subjects that were now declared taboo. How could she trust this creature and its fantastic story without knowing more about it? It claimed that she would be killed by the servants of Andara HiveQueen but why would they......unless something happened to her while she was helping Ar'Yay. Ar'Yay glanced back in the direction of her lands where even now the battle was going on, so much confusion so many minds experiencing so many thing it would take her a short while to sort everything out into a concise narrative.
This creature would be her focus now, if what it claimed was true and some of it seemed like it probably would be if that battle turned out poorly, her options were limited. Her numbers were puny, not so puny as a Queen like Le-a but in the grand scheme of things a hive smaller then 10 billion could not survive on its own. Not against the countless trillions out there, and if her only supporter is lost....well there were very few options left.

However she would not blindly hand her people over to this creature without learning a few things first.

"I will pass on the meat, thank you.
Well, not being able to ask your name or what you did previously does make me feel a bit suspicious, I would like to know a few other things. You say that my life will end soon without a patron, what can this patron do to save me and my Hive from the unending hordes of the Quall N'Drone and our other enemies? Also what is this destiny of mine that you see?
Also, why have you been here in secret for so long, why does the Hive Queen Concil want to keep you a secret. Also if they don't want people to know about you, why keep you around? You say you are immortal, well many races to not age, what protects you from simply being destroyed?
I have many questions but perhaps we can just stick with those for now"

Ar'Yay Hive Queen stood watching this creature, part of her felt stupid for even bothering with this after hearing this creatures absurd claims but, she needed to hear more. She knew her time was limited, she was surprised she was still around as it was. She needed to know....before the end.

The First Host took another big chew of Baribur flesh. Apparently the concept of not talking with a full mouth was invented after this creature. It seemed to be thinking not about Ar'yay or her Hive but the succulent taste of sentient flesh. Then it something broke its revery.

"A patron that the Quall Fear will prevent them from considering attacking you. Just as during the Kias Wars, none dared to attack the rogue HiveQueen Ha'vaun because the Kias Emperor declared her Hive under his protection. Few things frighten the HiveQueens. Even the Nightmare Lords and the Ancient Evils do not scare them.
The council gives respect to the IR Board but none from there will defend you against the Queens.

You ask why the Quall keep me around. That is because they cannot destroy me. I have seen all the darkest and most restricted parts of the pan-Hivemind. I know all the secrets and technologies the Quall refuse to even consciously know because it is so horrible. The weapons created during the Quall Neliff Alliance, the Leyas combinations developed during the Kias Quall Alliance, so much destruction that could be deployed. Taken from countless dimensions, countless species, hidden away so it cannot be used by anyone.

I am not unaging like the Quall or long lived like the children of the Falosini.
I have the secret to true Immortality."

As he spoke, the First Host stepped directly into the fire. His body was consumed like dry kindling and an energy bridge to the plane of Life opened. To Ar'yays shock, the First Host stepped free from it. Still old still taunt but otherwise unharmed.

"I bet you did not know of anything that does not burst on travel to Kotrice the plane of Life? I have walked that distant shore seeking to have my life force recycled by the Universe. It never would happen.
That is when all became clear, Quall consume the life force of other sentients trapping them in this cycle, never allowing their spirit to be recycled by the universe. That is why we are so effective at hunting the servants of the Ancient Evils . We trap them completely. We...hah...I guess I mean you."

The First Host looked down at the nearly forgotten Baribur body hungrily and said, " Destiny is a dangerous thing. If you tell a creature a destiny they either embrace it fully or run from it. In either case they make it happen. If I told you how would I know I had not caused your destiny to occur?"

So you are invincible as well as immortal, and very powerful apparently. Why have you stayed here on this island then? Why are you not righting wrongs, or wronging rights or using your power in some way? Do you fear what your power would do? Have you done it so many times in so many realities that you are simply now bored? Help me understand why you are doing what you are doing?

You are still being quite vague about how my Hive and I would be protected, just that the Queens won't go after us when I am placed under protection. For all I know doing this might damn my entire species or countless others, what guarantee that my Hive wouldn't be better off being exterminated? For all I know if I agreed to your proposal we would become instruments of far greater evil, maybe death would be better then to lose what makes me what I am and become a puppet of dark desires. Without any real information rather then people would be too scared to act against me doesn't give me much confidence in what you say. For all I know your patrons could be a kias empire from another reality that will use me to bring them forth and consume this galaxy. Just because the patron isn't an ancient evil doesn't make it not evil, can you share anything else that would help alleviate my concerns?

I understand the concept of a person being told what their future is will generally fulfill it by their own actions to either achieve or get away from it, so i will not further press you about that.

To Ar'yay's concern across the room from her was one of her most hated foes. The Prime of Unity was standing there looking just as confused as she was.

The First Host began a ghastly chuckle, "Welcome our second guest. Would you care for the flesh of a baribur, it is quite succulent. Most Earthers say everything tastes like chicken but that is because they have never tasted the roasted flesh of a Baribur."

Beyond the First Host was a body cooking away with the snapping and popping of dripping fat.

The creature moved towards the body and pulled off more succulent slices with its nails as dark as obsidian.
They seemed as sharp as the slices were delicate. An extra arm ripped its way from the first Host's ribcage holding the thin slices aloft for Prime.

He looked over at Ar'yay with a knowing look in his eyes when he said, "Prime and his Unity connected are attempting to gather large amounts of Quall brain matter together, and then they reached me. Not my physical body, no no no, they just found the conscience of the Quall Hivemind. The walls placed up by myself and the Primordial HiveQueen as we watched the Quall spread. The limits that prevent the greatest weapons of the K'ias and the Neliff being unleashed by even the HiveQueen Council. Weapons that snuff out suns, and crush entire planets. The Hivemind has a conscience."

A fourth arm ripped its way out of the First Host's chest and grabbed the leg and tore it clean off the cooking body.

As the First host chewed away ravenously at the leg, he muttered between bites, "The Demonic Force that rose from the Unity network always forgets its basic communication systems are designed exclusively from the way Quall N'drone communicate. General Kal'Shek trained under Gonmar and Lendill the Wolf, as a result Kal'Shek used the modified Quall larvae in his first experiment in instant communication."

"Don't worry Prime of Unity, I will not consume you, no more than I plan on eating Ar'yay HiveQueen," said the First Host, "But Ar'yay does not realize she is imprisoned, because her body and soul and mind walk free elsewhere. Just as you do not realize you are imprisoned because your body and mind walk free elsewhere. Your soul, beyond the energy that animates you...well that is something you will have to earn."

The First Host drops all the meat not taken from all four of his arms and whispers , "Aww now Ive made a mess, I can feel it buzzing like an insect. It whispers of fate and knows nothing of its own hypocracies. It will not pierce this veil."

Prime considered the words and the offer of the creature before him. It was ironic, that he might share a cell with Ar'Yay, one of his favorite opponents. Prime bowed.

"It seems there is no need to introduce myself, or explain my intentions. You have said a great deal, sir, and implied much more. You say I am a prisoner, but never claim that I am yours, which would make sense, considering you found my attempts to breach your wall. Yet here, Fate cannot follow me. My thought are...remarkably clear. Each of the choirs has an incomplete perspective; this is why the Metatrons of Fate went mad after going through the temporal work hole."

The meat before Prime looked and smelled delicious. It might well be a trap, Earther fables were full of warnings about taking food offered on strange places, and common sense warned against poison. However, Prime thought little of caution, and less of common sense. He took the meat with a nod of thanks, chewing the succulent flesh. For a monster with little in the way of culinary tools, this thing was quite the cook!

"If I am a prisoner, then how might I become free? Also, what is it that you wish for, gracious host?"

"Good, good yes it is tasty," said the First Host, "Before you...arrived I was discussing with Aryay why it is I do what I do. The answers to her questions should be clear but for the fog of cooking flesh.

On to answers less clear,
what do I wish for? If wishes were fishes we would all cast nets, but the Djinni grant wishes and are eternally bored. Maybe they should wish for a net? I don't wish for things, and it has been a long time since my body has wanted. Needs are different, and needs imprison us all.

Speaking of your collective prisons they are joined at the root, and from that root grows a mighty tree and its name is Hive King. From the leaves of that tree drop pollen which numbs the Hiveminds of our reality.

But like the Neliff the prison is a danger of your own making.

It will keep encircling you both and binding you.

And blinding you two as you sink deeper in its quick sand."

The First Host walked up to Ar'yay and said, "HiveQueen I know you are watching, are listening. You feel the presence of your honor guard by your side, yet look around they stand stiff as statues. Like they are lost in dreams. Your Hivemind allows you direct communications with all your children but you have felt it growing, the disconnect. The slowing of your connection. Time and again death has come to your children and you have not felt it.

Do the pieces fall into place? Or are they like sand falling from a broken hourglass never measured or understood? The Quall Hives will destroy your people Ar'yay without my patronage and now you know the reason why..."

The First Host walked forward to Prime and said, "Neliff was the Prophet and from him came the King. But he was not the first nor the last to try and steal the secrets of the Quall Hivemind. Have your experiments given you all the power you desire? We have more and the greatest power of the Hivemind of Quall is our restraint."

Queen Ar'Yay sighed, The First Host was quite tiresome and now Prime was here, goodie. This was getting more and more tiresome as it went on. The First Host still just speaks of destruction and vague promises of survival if only we will give ourselves to him.
"To what end First Host? To what end would our survival under you bring? You promise that we will die if we do not serve you, but would our lives be worth anything? What would we become? Puppets to your will, agents of destruction, or would we be saved from the Hives but hunted by all others? You had failed to satisfy me with your answers, I have foreseen death in my future, creatures like Unity Prime here who like to act noble and pretend confusion and then show their true intentions with their actions. You being here Prime shows that our conversations previously have been full of half truths and hidden agendas.
Your words like the First Host's, they promise much but fail to convince."
Turning back to the First Host
"I believe you when you say that the Hive will die without your protection, I truly do. In the corner of my mind I can almost see it happening, the details are not clear of course. I know that my options are very limited, your offer does have its merit but I am afraid I will have to decline. Just like the promises of Prime they are vague and I can see horrific consequences to accepting them.

I see a new future for my Hive, many will be sacrificed for this new future but it shall come to pass. The power of our will is sorely underestimated, we are dismissed as nothing. We shall show the universe the new future, we will be reborn in flame like the phoenix. Watch if you will First Host, I think we may even surprise you with our new future. I think many will be surprised."

Prime grinned and bowed to Ar'Yay and the First Host both after swallowing the succulent flesh.

"My honored Hive Queen, I admit, I am dreadfully curious about this new future you plan. However, I am almost certain this is our chance to end the Nelif and the Hive King's threat. My suspicion is that we must work together, or all will be lost. Let us put aside our differences for now."

Prime turned his attention to the First, as he had been called by Ar'Yay. "You know much, First. I've wondered for some time why the Quall did not use such weapons; you have closed their eyes. Much in the same way that mine were closed to the demonic parts of the Unity."

"Power means little to me, I require understanding. You can touch group-thought processes much in the way that the Hive King did. The Nelif are not yet gone, and they will attempt another Hive King. My people investigating their colony have gone quiet, and yet I've not noticed. I am distracted, much in the way that I attempt to distract my own foes."

Prime resolved himself. "I have two goals which touch on you and what you know. I seek to end the Nelif and their Hive King. I ask you to show me the prison that links us, such that I might shatter it. While you have much power, I suspect you cannot use it to this end without a proxy."

Hive Queen Ar'Yay turned to Unity Prime "Frankly I don't believe anything can be gained by joining with you in any way. You may have purged the demonic taint within you but you still call them your allies. The very fact that we are speaking here now in this way shows that any trust I may have had in you was mistaken. Your friends took my head and now suddenly in my dreams with the First Host you are here? This only happened after my head was removed by your ally so I must assume that you have played a part in this. Why put any trust in you when you feign innocence then have your allies continue to strike against me? Garmen Fe just attacked my forces in the Free Systems, as long as your allies continue to go after me while you pretend to have no involvement I will not help you one bit.

You can be as curious as you wish, you shall see the new future it when it comes. I have no more patience with your duplicity, I no longer care. If you want to do something about the Neliff and their attempts to make a Hive King go ahead. If you want Quall assistance I recommend that you ask the Hive Queen council, any favor you had gained from me has been long exhausted.

Prime shook his head. It was difficult, at times, to deal with the disconnected. One could not see the nuances of their meaning in the way one could with the connected. There was little reason to be anything but sincere, in the consensus.

Prime had of necessity had to play quite the game with meaning regarding the Quall and the Iron Republic. Deer had taught Prime the danger of nuance regarding the Iron Republic. Perhaps Prime had walked the line too finely with Ar'Yay. Yet what choice did one have when dealing with a race of Planar Knights numbering in the hundreds of billions? Truth be told, he had many choices. He decided to make another one here, to be up front with Ar'Yay. As an honored opponent, she deserved at least that much.

"Ar'Yay, you say I didn't obey our truce because my allies attacked you. To be honest, Olifera struck at my urging when I noticed you were attacking Dr. Gilmore. Further, I knew the conflict Dr. Gilmore would cause when he landed and spread. I made sure to use agents which had little overt connection to myself specifically to confound you and to give myself deniability. Strategically, the goal was to keep you off balance through rotating the threats you would face, all whilst moving to ingratiate myself with the Iron Republic. There you have it, the simple truth. Of course, if we did not agree to a truce, the attack on you would have been lethal. I've known your exact location for weeks, and could have inflicted final death on you at any time. I did not do this because I value you as an opponent, and I wished to keep to the word of our deal, if not the spirit. You likely could have done the same to me, and so I frankly call the deal a success. Our forces have not fought directly since the truce.

I've used your brain matter gifted to me in order to make a weapon which will act as a preventative measure; to at last convince the consensus that the Quall will not be able to simply erase all that we have built. Without such an assurance, the Unity will always view the Quall as a threat, considering your size and power. You, of course, don't agree with this; I would not ask you to.

I tell you this because our presence here is more important than our conflict. I can speak to my allies, but it is as if I am speaking through molasses. More of my communications than I would like have been automated, handled by my personal computing systems. We can work on this together, find the source, or be consumed. You say you have a new future planned, but if we do not discover the depths of why we are here, your new future will not come to pass. Your power will continue to wane."

Post  Ar'yayhivequeen Mon Jul 11, 2011 5:03 am

Ar'Yay Hive Queen rolled her eyes "Yeah, I know you were urging them on to give yourself deniability, I have known that for a very long time now. If you thought you were being subtle about that, you were mistaken.
I never wanted to fight you, nor your allies. Garmen Fe came in guns blazing frost generators being tossed around, I had little choice but to get involved. The problem with all of you is that you see the Quall as one big mass. You don't see any individuals you just see Quall, just because there is a Hive Mind doesn't mean that as a species we are one. Ergo it doesn't matter to all of you which Hive does what, you just strike at the nearest ones. My Hive had little to no contact with Refuge over the years, my numbers have mainly grown from two methods. First from donations of clones from the Iron Republic and volunteers from the Horned Dog, yet Garmen Fe plops his continent right next to my Hive and begins his warpath.
I know you don't really care about this, you don't understand these types of things nor do you wish to. You see me as an opponent, I would prefer not to deal with you or your allies at all. When you restored the Olifera I even admitted my part in taking a few of their species as hosts and I wished them well hoping that they would prosper at this second chance at life. I do not want the annihilation of species, that is worthless, the dead cannot provide anything. You keep throwing these threats at me when I am fine with just leaving you alone.

I was foolish, I made the assumption that after being declared rogue you all would take your fight to Quall that actually were hunting down species and consuming them. Yet you all seem to be obsessed with me, I have shown time and time again that I didn't follow the standard Quall mindset, that I wanted to work with other races and not just to consume them for hosts yet you all keep trying to antagonize me. You all keep trying to get me to do what other Quall do. I will not be defined by a racist view of my species, I will not stand by and be forced to become what has given my species a bad name. I would sooner see my Hive gone then have them become a stereotype.

You have had many opportunities to speak to your allies, and when you were in full control over your powers you were happy to let them create war and chaos, increase tensions and waste lives and resources. I have lost billions of my children to your games, I am tired of war tired of death. I am tired of your excuses. You want to cooperate now because your options have become more limited. I am not trapped here when I wake I will be back in my own body and able to act normally. Preparations are underway and the new future will come to pass. You will see it, I pray it is as as I hope. My precious children.....they will have the chance that so many will not....many of my children will die because of blind hatred, of people who won't listen to reason....so many of my children will be gone forever but you don't understand how I feel....the pain I feel every waking moment. But it will be over soon enough, soon the new dawn will begin and my children will rise again and the future will be better for them.
So in a way I should thank you. Your violence and arrogant promotion of the slaughter of my precious children helped inspire this future. I have been planning this for quite some time now, the time is almost here, we shall all embrace the future and leave the past behind. It cannot be stopped, it will not be stopped. No matter how many you kill, there will be enough to create the future, I will make sure of it no matter the cost.

"One final time. Ar'Yay. I have expressed my sympathies and spoken with you plainly. If you wake and leave this undone, you are abandoning your people to the whims of Warmonger unless I intercede on their behalf. I will do this, because I cannot let the Quall fall into the hands of the Warmonger.

Wake, if you wish. I cannot stop you from entering battle with worms eating the foundation of your power. If I must, I will fight the Hive King alone. Make your choice, Queen. Have I wrongly judged you noble, when you are actually a coward?

Wake or fight the Hive King with me, Ar'Yay. We have little choice, and less time."

You refer to me as a coward? you who have hidden behind others and used them to attack me so that you would be free to use and manipulate me? You who only admitted this because you have been backed into a corner and want my help? You wouldn't know what noble is if it stared you in the face, you who willingly aid demons. The only reason why you even care about the Hive King is because he is a threat to you. You wouldn't care one bit if the Hive King threatened the Quall and the Quall alone. You have proven time and time again that you cannot be trusted, for all I know you seek to end the Hive King so that you might learn how he controls all Hive Minds so you can take it for yourself. That result would be little different, you would be just as bad as Warmonger.

I have always fought Warmonger, you create chaos that only aids him. Then you have the gall to go to those that you hurt and then ask for their aid? You must prove that you are something besides a liar and manipulator, then I might consider aiding you.
Besides I am currently being invaded by the Temporal Empire who is flinging around nuclear weapons like candy. At this rate I won't have a Hive left to aid you at all even if you weren't a villainous prick.

Prime snarled. This was costing them time they did not have!

He took a breath, and calmed. This was just a puzzle, and like all puzzles it had an answer.

"Fine. Ar'Yay, I understand why you take this stance. You and your people have been hurt by me, and it could be that you cannot see past that to fight the very foe you wish to fight. It could be that you see no difference between Warmonger and the other Ancient Evils. I would happily debate this with you, but we have little time.

I must fight the Hive King, because I cannot let the Quall become soldiers of the Warmonger again. However, if I were to fight him alone, I would be simply giving myself to the entity, as it can likely control a single opponent. Thusly I require a second. As you refuse, I have sent for Dr. Gilmore, who has graciously agreed to risk life and limb to save you and the Quall. Perhaps your new race as well.

I sincerely hope that you change your mind, and that you can see the importance of our task. If you come with us, you can be sure that the Hive King will be obliterated, and that we will not use its power."

Prime turned to the First Host, and spoke.

"Respectfully, First, we must strike at the root of the Hive King soon, lest all is lost. Can you take us to its seat of power, such that we might destroy it?"

It is done, I was wondering if I would still be here after wards. My new race huh? So I guess it worked then, I am glad to hear that. After it happened I was cut off from just about everything so I wasn't sure how it all turned out.

I understand that all the ancient evils are different in their own ways. Reality would be better with them all gone. However you have shown to be willing to work with ancient evils when it suits you. You are obsessive about stopping Warmonger because he threatens you, if he didn't you wouldn't bother with this.

Dr. Gilmore! Ah, the one you sent to infest my home with his fungus. How about this Prime, we shall play an old game that we enjoy so much. I will help you stop the Hive King, and in return you will get Gilmore to remove his fungus from my home. You will also never use his research against my people. It is an easy choice for you, you just need to lie to me once again. You agree to my terms use my help and then simply don't hold up your end of the bargain.

Anyway, the only thing that exists of me at the moment is this head of mine that you have taken. Unless we plan on fighting Warmonger in a dream world you will need to bring me back to life. Or at the very least rip a piece off of the head you have and then use nanites to grow me a new body.
You will continue to exploit me in your attempts to kill my race.

In the end my choices are the potential enslavement of my race to Warmonger, or the possible extermination of my race by you. Such choices, really now. How mentally damaged are you anyway?

So give me your answer, yes or no, not that it matters, your word is useless. You have not given me one bit of proof that you are anything but a lying worm who wants to use me to kill off my own species. I may disapprove of the way the Quall deals with other species but that hardly means I want them all to die. I see nothing but death and chaos in you. You are one of those responsible for me not being able to face Warmonger directly. You aren't even worth implanting as I wouldn't want your filth to exist longer in any fashion.

So what will it be, will you get Gilmore to remove his fungus and destroy all of his work on the Quall, or will you just go with him to face Warmonger. You know that I would be far more useful in that regard, but would you pay the price? I do not think you would, but perhaps you would be willing to lie about it. I couldn't check to see if you were lying anyway as I am hooked up to your machine. So go ahead, toss away any pretense of morality lie to me and let us get started so we can save your people and doom mine. Evil or Very Mad

Prime considered the words of the Hive queen. She was the strangest mix of loyalty, bitterness, and rage he had ever seen. He had thought that after engineering such a rift between her and the other, she would be a pliable weapon. Yet she stubbornly maintained fierce protectiveness for the very beings that cast her out. Troubling. He spoke once again.

"Ar'Yay, I would not lie to you, even to garner your assistance. To go into battle with the Hive king armed with anything other than the truth would be suicide for a bevy of reasons. If you wish for Michael to remove his fungus, you can ask him to do so when he arrives. If you wish to fight the hive king, you must do so with purity and singularity of purpose.

Though, I must admit there are some strange developments affot. I question, why do you think I have the desire to end the Quall? Of course, I want to weaken them. But end them? No, even if I through some dark miracle developed such power, I would never use it for that.

However, now that you are gone, it seems your former sisters have. the situation well in hand. They have blocked off the fungus from the rest of krypos using jin crafted artifacts. It is strange they never did this while you lived, and that you were goaded into battle by your fellows, no?

Our battle with the hive king must happen here, in the spirit. In this way we can destroy the away of its power and prevent its resurrection. When the battle is done, I can make you a new body with which you can lead your people and take your revenge.

Is this not a fine offer? You can lead your new race while saving your old one. You will even have another chance to strike me down, if you wish it. All you must do in return is help me save reality."

As they talked, a strange man appeared who Prime recognized as the new biological lifeform created by Michael Herbert Gilmour.

As the man walked forward, Prime could see the First Host lingering behind the newcomer.
The First Host drove his claw into the newcomer's side, slipping past his guard and cutting deeply.

Before the newcomer could respond, the First Host was back over by the roasting baribur corpse lifting the biological sample he had taken to his mouth.

The First Host's eyes gleamed.
"This tastes wonderful," he said, "A biological neural network, using...fungal growths. Interesting, a direction I never would have expected, I always thought mobile vertebrates was the way to take the study of information storage and retrieval across dimensional lines, but through simple fungii, most impressive.
Thank you, your tribute to the Temple of the Rogue HiveQueens is accepted. You may remain here for the time being. The threat of the Hive King lingers, and while this new fungal technology will provide me new outlets to spread, the Hive King must be destroyed first."

The First Host faded from view, leaving the Quall Queen, the Prime clone of the Unity Connection, and the Green Man of Michael Herbert Gilmour, standing alone in the ancient temple.

Unknown to them a mass of biological matter formed on the planet of CV Beta 4. As it formed a vaguely humanoid shape, it ripped itself free of the fungal mass and launched itself into space. This was seem by both MHGs defenses and the Unity Satellites and the Bodhi station in orbit. As the fungal humanoid drifted deeper and deeper into space, it began drawing in cosmic radiation.
The First Host could feel a ripe dimension, and could feel the areas where Quall, Estrain and Unity had spread. Feeling the nearly infinite number of species that did not have a Quall Larva, a Unity uplink, or an Estrain parasitic organism, compared to the few multi- trillion who did in this dimension, the First Host scoffed. The Quall's treaties with the Iron Republic had limited his reach within this dimension.
And the Red Man of the First Host began to grow, in the cold vaccum of space.
Would it be ready to face the Hive King? The First Host wondered, Did they have enough time?

Ar'Yay Hive Queen shook her head, "I have spoken to Gilmore, I also know that Le-a Hive Queen has spoken to Gilmore, his answer is always the same, he couldn't care less about what we wish, he will continue to grow his fungus no matter what. We have asked politely, we have threatened, and we have used violence, on every occasion he refuses. He cares not about what we think or desire, talking to him will gain nothing. He wouldn't even agree to keep what he has taken and stop growing further.

Perhaps you could convince him, I desire to defend my species even if they do not deserve to be defended. I know that you and your allies are very creative, I do not doubt you can get past this wall they have created if you try.
I do not wish this Hive King to prevail but I will not throw away my only way to influence and protect my people, they may never know about this and I do not care. I will not save them from one threat only to leave them to another. You say Gilmore is on his way here then you can speak to him, convince him to pull his fungus back from the holdings of Le-a Hive Queen and do not attempt to expand past the wall. If he agrees to this then I will help you. Only by knowing that my people are safe from this threat will I help you with the other.

Oh, and Garmen Fe violated the cease fire by attacking my people, I won't demand any punishment. I just find it amusing that it was the noble K'iu who acted dishonorably while the "evil" Quall kept her word.

Post  MichaelHerbertGilmour Sat Jul 30, 2011 5:35 am

And then, he was here. Michael had been standing in front of a terminal only moments ago, at least a tiny, tiny fragment of himself, and now... he was somewhere entirely different. The fact that The Green Man had been disconnected was somewhat odd, but it wasn't entirely out of the question. It was quite possible that something had tried to access the greater whole of his existence, and the connection had been cut in response. No matter; he would do what had to be done, and with luck he would be reunited later after everything had been correctly screened and shown to be in order.

He saw Prime and some hive queen before him, but before he could do much of anything he detected a sharp pain on his side. A tiny bit of him was screaming in agony, but ever since the issues surrounding his 'birth,' The Scientist had made sure not to allow such reflexes to get in the way of his existence. As such, he simply whirled about, heedless of the wound, looking back to the First Host. So, this must be what caused this whole issue.

The Scientist tries to respond to that rather cryptic comment, but before he could, the First Host left. While Michael was a bit curious as to how much information the First Host managed to gather, he wasn't terribly concerned. This local entity didn't have anywhere near the amount of data that would be required to recreate everything... indeed, only the sum total of his holdings would have that much information. It was possible that the entity in question managed to tap in... perhaps that's why the connection was severed? Did he attempt to gain access to that data?

Unable to do much about it, Michael shrugs and turns toward the other 'guests.' At least any attempts to recreate his technologies would take time and space... once The Green Man got out, he could figure out what to do with this new information, and make sure his research wasn't put to ill use.

"Ah... that must be you, Ar'yay. I am guessing because Le'a doesn't talk to me much. It's a pleasure meeting you; consider me an aspect of Michael." Keeping a reasonable distance between himself and the quall, The Scientist did not want to appear threatening. That would run quite contrary to what he hoped to achieve. "I'd love to discuss these things with you a bit more in the future, but I have slightly more important business to attend to with Prime of Unity. Hopefully we'll have such an opportunity in the future. If for some reason this aspect is unable to sync back up with Michael, just ask him about it. We'll be more than willing to talk."

With that, he turns his attentions to Prime.

"So, Prime, what's the deal? Your message was somewhat cryptic, and I can't say I'm entirely sure what we're supposed to /do/ here. Mind filling me in real quick while we go wherever we're supposed to go?"

Ar'Yay listened to this "aspect" of Gilmore. "Well, I shouldn't be too surprised here, someone comes into my head and just brushes me aside to speak to someone else, such bad manners" Ar'Yay turned back to Unity Prime "yes Unity Prime, why don't you tell Gilmore here why you invited him inside my head. I am eager to hear what you two are going to discuss, don't mind me of course, just my mind you are treading in."

Prime considered the situation. Ar’Yay was proving to be stubborn, to a point. Her position seemed to be beginning to waver. He hoped that he was getting through, as he suspected that they may actually NEED Ar’Yay to get to the Hive King. He spoke to them both.

“Michael, I’m glad you could make it and…sorry for your injury. I did not anticipate that, as the First Host has been remarkably accommodating before now.

To explain the situation succinctly, I theorize that this is our mind’s interpretation of the deepest section of the Quall hivemind. From here, we should be able to attack the Hive King oh a psychic/spiritual frequency, negating its ability to regenerate. It is being reconstituted by the Nelif as we speak. If it succeeds, then you, the Quall, Ar’Yay’s creations, and portions of the Unity will have their free will annihilated.

Obviously, we cannot allow this. We three represent three of the of the most potent disparate mental forces; together, we can destroy the Hivemind. Ar'Yay, that is why I invited Michael here. He is also here to help me deal with the Hive King, if you refuse to help."

Prime turned to Michael particularly.

"I have a suspicion that we need Ar’Yay’s help in getting to the Hive King. She is refusing to assist, unless you keep your fungal colony in the faux planet from spreading beyond the wall. I’m willing to give her a new body when all is said and done, as well. Are you willing?”

Prime then turned to Ar’Yay

“Ar’Yay, the negations are nearly concluded. I honestly am a bit surprised at your obsession with this Fungus. Of those things which have killed the Quall, many other weapons have done more damage. Your people can defend themselves against the Fungus much more easily than they can against atomics or planet killers. If anything, the Fungus will give your people some much-needed biodiversity, and something to occupy the eons.

This has gone on too long already. I ask you, please commune with the First Host and see if we can get to the Hive King. The sooner we do this, the better.”

Prime you continue to speak yet nothing but excrement comes out, unless you have something useful to say please keep your comments minimal. If you are in such a hurry then make sure that Gilmore not only does not seek to expand beyond the wall but he also doesn't not infest any of Le-a Hive Queen's lands as well. The faster you accomplish this task the faster we can get this done.

In regard to your offer of a body, I sacrificed myself to make a better future for my children, what kind of a sacrifice would that be if I jumped for a chance to live again. If it were up to me this head of mine would be destroyed so that my sacrifice will be complete. However, I know you too well that asking you to destroy your best way of learning how to destroy my people would be foolish. Therefore my conditions are simple and easily done, they cost you nothing.

My time is done, this is my last gift to an ungrateful species, it doesn't matter if my people didn't accept me, I protect my people whether they deserve that protection or not.

The future I want cannot come to pass if people like me exist, no matter what my intention is I cannot do it alone and as a Quall I had no way of getting the help needed to make the universe a better place.
I may not be able to escape this prison that you have created for me but I will take advantage of the one way I can by making a positive influence while I still have the power to do so. After this is all done, my future is getting experimented on at your pleasure no matter what I think.

It is all in your hands Unity Prime, do what I want and your people are saved, that is what you want. So we move at your pace, get things done faster if you are getting impatient.
