A whisper to Su Maehl after the Party

Prime looked at Su Maehl, and for a moment, Su Maehl felt the full focus of Prime’s attention as if it were a drill boring its way through his skull. He did not know how, but he knew that Prime was not doing anything in that one moment but considering him. His mouth did not move, but Su Maehl could hear Prime’s voice speak very quietly in his ear.

“Su Maehl, you may well be in terrible danger. Please do not noticeably react to what I am about to tell you.”

Prime moved on, along with his guards, saying good bye to those at the party.

“You are currently being ridden by the being Quiet, and I am speaking to you through a microscopic portal next to your ear. The Sephir have modified my body such that I could be a more workable prison for the entity. Whatever computing power you have on your person is likely the culprit. If we are quick, we can catch it. I know you have it in your power to three-inch-gap your entire system. If you do this, and give me your on hand computer, we may be able to catch it.

The Quiet could do great harm, attached to your network, if we do not quickly resolve this.”

Su Maehl was puzzled by Prime's words. He quickly recounted what Timothy had told him of his new system improvements, and how he had indeed created a fail-safe in the event his system had been hacked and performed the same tricks that TerraNova's malicious code did. Three-inch-gap, eh? What will these people think of next? Separating his network is actually a piece of cake, despite the fact that it would disrupt his business. Thankfully, all of his ships had secondary Iron Republic public broadband radios independent from Maehl Holdings Comm systems, so at least they can communicate with home planets. Depending on how long it takes, it might ground his ships for a while, but nothing disastrous.

Su took out his personal comm and entered the proper code to three-inch-gap his system, and said aloud, to nobody in particular, "It's done. Now what?"

Prime's arm became like a blur, whipping towards Su Maehl before he could properly react. From Prime's palm erupted a thin silver thread, which pierced the com device and wrenched it to Prime's hand. Three thin silver mandibles tore through the skin of Prime's hand, and pierced the Comm, as if to make a meal of it. Su Maehl was almost sure he was the only one in the thinning crowd to see it, but it was almost enough to make him sick up. It was easy to forget that Prime was once a monster in spirit and mind both.

Prime's whole mind, for an instant, was taken up in the singular act of consumption. This was what his new body was made for, and could lead to his destruction. His mind echoed with the lessons imparted upon him by the Via station, as Prime used Su's comm as a launching platform. His mind rushed through the network like a storm, seeking to consume the Quiet through spiritual and mental battle.

Ooc- all it would have found is an echo. The Quiets in a "dangerous computer" on Su' s desk on his personal ship.

The echo of Quiet is not the being itself. Instead unity prime can feel the entity retreat back through the comm to the computer hidden on Maehls desk on his private ship.

Prime looked to Su Maehl.

"My friend, there is little time. If you power down your office's defenses I can bring us there at once; The Quiet is there."

"Uhmm, yeah. You might have to be a little more specific than that. I have 27 of them."

"The one on your private ship. It is on a hidden computer you have at your desk."

Prime remotely put in the activation codes of his personal skiff as they spoke, readying for immediate extraction.

Su thought for a moment, What the fuck is Prime talking about? I have a hidden computer on ALL of my desks. Before asking what would inevitably come off as obtuse, he thought about what Prime was saying.

Computer on my desk computer on my desk, computer on my desk. Hidden. Not connected to my network, possibly containing this creature. This makes no fucking sense... WAIT!!! This makes so much sense. Months ago, when Xec gave me that weird unhackable computer that I couldn't use. Aha! That crazy Da'unhb. He gave me Quiet! ... ... ... wait, am I supposed to give it to Prime? Is that a good idea?

Su suddenly looked up, looked to his left, looked to his right, and behind him for that familiar blue flash he is accustomed to seeing. When none came, he whispered, "Meet in the bathroom?" Su then walked quickly to the bathroom, knowing Prime would be pleased to know that its sitting, unlugged, on his desk on the very ship that brought him here. He was so paranoid about using it that he never did. Something about now Xec had warned him about using it made him decide to never risk it.

Prime excused himself and went to the bath room. What an ending to a long hunt. He strode there quickly after Su Maehl. Once they were inside, a portal ripped open, and Su Maehl could see the insides of Prime's skiff. They went on board quickly, and it closed behind them.

Su Maehl had never seen the inside of Prime's skiff. The bridge held a single stark black chair, and there were no buttons or controls to speak of. He looked more closely, and saw a jet black sword with a single red eye in the hilt. Holographic maps of known space came into being in the center of the room. They allowed for Su Maehl to see their speed and it was...absurd.

Prime handed Su Maehl a small holographic interface, allowing him to send security passcodes to checkpoints as the Skiff rocketed past them. They were little more than a black blur on scanners.

As they approached, Prime turned to Su Maehl and spoke. "Su, my body was reconstructed by the Sephir to act as a prison for Quiet. I have to warn you, though...I have absolutely no idea of what I am doing beyond a rough idea. If I loose control, activate the security protocols in your room and destroy me if you can. Help me to remember myself, or all is lost."

Prime took a deep breath, and grabbed the Sword of Prime in his right hand. He could feel veins of impossibly cold flesh worm from the sword into his hand, and he could feel the familiar corruption flow through him. Prime tore the blade from his sheath, and reveled in the balance he had come to represent. He would be host to many, the Sephir and the Dragon. In that war for dominance, Prime would sit at the center as the balance directing chaos.

A portal opened to Su Maeh's office, and Prime tore through it so quickly Su Maehl barely registered the movement. In one momment Prime was still, and the next he was holding the hidden computer Quiet in his fist. A barely human scream filled the station as the small computer became one with Prime's left arm. Prime went to war; offering the Quiet an opponent and companion worthy of it.
