Week 5 Planetary Recovery Mission - Return to CV Beta 4 Empty Week 5 Planetary Recovery Mission - Return to CV Beta 4

Post  Admin Mon May 23, 2011 1:52 am

The planet of CV Beta 4 has had two more years of growth thanks to the temporal radiation from a nearby unstable wormhole. The planet is now completely covered by a specially designed habitat of Michael Herbert Gilmour, which is augmented by Mor’aye’ahn’s Sporekint.
The entire planet, except one section of mountains, has been consumed by fungus which is now miles deep into the core of the planet. This section of Mountains is protected by Nightmare flesh which was grown from the Nighmare pits of Viggo the Kasanthian.
With all the breeding going on the Nightmare Kulieks now number in this hundreds of thousands, but they are cramped in closely inside the Nightmare pits being let out every few months through grown multilayered sphincters that prevent the fungal spores from entering the tunnels of Nightmare flesh.
Packs of Nightmare Kulieks hunt the Sporekint and Housekeeping fungus, but the fungus have kept growing. At this point fifty feet below the mountain is fungus, and fungus is on all sides. Only the mountain itself is protected and is now honeycombed with Nightmare Flesh tunnels.
Deep inside the Mountain is the beautiful Oleifera Kasanthian now known for its stunning black and white flowering branches.

This is primarily a rivalry between Michael Herbert Gilmour and Viggo who BOTH have home court advantage on his mission.

This mission is open to All Players.

Post your plan to this mission on either the defenders or attacker's side here on this thread only. First person to post gets a single extra repost later to launch secret attacks, ambushes etc. All other players get one post only. This thread will be locked at 11pm E.S.T. on Friday May 27th. Only actions listed on this mission thread will count as locked in for player actions.

Week 5 Planetary Recovery Mission - Return to CV Beta 4 Empty Getting a little too cramped for my style

Post  ViggoTheKasanthian Mon May 23, 2011 4:22 am

My first move is taking the ...ogh... offensive.
This is the experimental stages and may cost some of the apprentices lives, but fingers will be collected and their ...lat... loyalty will be rewarded.

I have been concocting aa special artifact that will balance the habitat on CV Beta 4. It is a missile tipped with a ...cuw... cursed artifact, artificed withi create fleshworms, shape stone and purify air. When the sphincter of the nightmare flesh opens, i will have the most loyal and trusted apprentices launch the missiles in regions that were formally mountain and cavernous. The ....fer... fleshworms will spread out providing room for the shape stone leyas to take effect, for the land to shape itself into a dome/facility, making a replica of the original ...sug... settlement of CV Beta4. Then the purify air leyas will clean the mess started in forming the habitat. The flesh worms will act as a moat to buffer the surroundings and provide some room for expansion.
Each facility is set up for a ...duh... different production- weapons, armor, and star ships.

But there is a problem, each facility need its own crew and ...ner... nightmare breeding pits. Once the settlements are erected, a network of fleshworm lines tunnels will be spread to connect settlement to settlement.

The apprentices that well lost during the trial run, will be converted back into existance and provided lordships at each of the ...ngh... neighboring settlements. We will have a kingdom protected within the land of the ...surm.... spores. One the likes of inviting the rest of the ...Tif...Trilat members to embrace for protection. Twisted Evil

As Ryuk get this request for protection, it seems like just a need for manpower more that specific skills. This I can help with, Ryuk though. A few thoughts later and 2000 of Ryuk's Rabble are gearing up to go aid Viggo, 1600 combat ready, and 400 ready to build and augment the infrastructure. Also transported will be as many as the prisoner soldiers, they will be doing basic marching exercises and PT. If Viggo is able to provide them with basic equipment they will aid him as with the menial tasks for this short duration. As usual a piece of everyone sent will be gathered, in case the worse happens.

Week 5 Planetary Recovery Mission - Return to CV Beta 4 Empty Re: Week 5 Planetary Recovery Mission - Return to CV Beta 4

And now it was time to extract this tumor once and for all. The very fact that it still remained entrenched in its little hole was niggling in the back of Michael's mind for some time. The longer he thought about it the worse it got... and slowly it was starting to feel as if he had something crawling under his skin. Some sort of insect, burrowing deep into his tissues, further and further...

Restraining himself, The Scientist watches his plans unfurl below a quickly maddening gaze. The fungal sheets that permeated the planet had arranged themselves into only the most pleasant designs, perfectly hidden to all but himself. The fact that biological matter tended to have a nearly uniform density made it all too easy to keep such structures hidden to all but the most careful observers, and those observers would still have to know exactly what they were looking for.

All at once, the innumerable teleportation matrices scattered throughout the whole of CV-ß4 finally began the end. The vast majority of the planetary defense mechanisms would begin pumping spores, deadly compounds, and ambulatory fungi into any structure designated as indigestible- a category that was exclusive to Viggo's creations. The main goal, of course, was to kill everything inside with the toxins and spores, hopefully begin growing inside where the climate might be more hospitable, and to simply destroy everything that could not be either consumed, suffocated, or poisoned through the use of mindless betenticled monstrosities. Indeed, considering that the full force of the planet's perpetual construction was behind the assault, Michael wondered to himself how long it would take before there was simply no space inside. No matter.

At the exact same time that was going on, the teleportation matrix that surrounded the mountain was simply going to teleport the mountain into high orbit, where it could be dealt with at leisure. It would be placed such that it would be catapulted by the moon's gravitational forces into the void of space, where Michael would simply not have to deal with it ever again. He loathed getting rid of so much mass, but it was a small price to pay. Beside, the time it would save could hopefully be used to reclaim it more easily later. With luck, this would actually made the process of pumping it full of toxins and fungi end rather quickly as it flew out of his range into the abyss.

All the ambulatory fungi in the area will also be attempting to simply rip those holdings apart, though they'll be restrained until after the teleportation fails, assuming it does.

In the event that none of these approaches work, Michael will actually direct combat himself. This will mainly involve using a combination of the network and housekeeping fungus to generate massive tendrils of biomass, which will simply crush/remove/destroy the intrusion.

In the event that anyone else is sent to aid Viggo's attempts, he will simply warp in the full force of his fleet and blast everything Viggo had into tiny pieces. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that though; it wasn't nearly so elegant. Of course, he'll still be doing all the above.

Considering that everything else on the planet was fungus miles deep, he'd wonder what the hell that missile really planned on doing. Unsurprisingly, it would be assaulted just as everything else was, its engines likely clogged with thick sporeclouds and its frame annihilated during its attempted descent through the surface of CV-ß4. After all, it had a loooooooong ways to go before it hit rock. Of course, Michael would happily be teleporting things in its way to block it off course, and maneuvering his creations to present a warm welcome for it on its way down. A warm reception was important for any guest.

Prime grinned. This is exactly the sort of inter-faction competition that he loved so thoroughly. CV Beta 4 provided a fantastic proving ground. His allies had much to learn still...and Prime always did enjoy being a teacher.

The silver twisting space station that had once been John 13 unfurled hundreds of delicate wings. The massive station, and its smaller progeny, shared in the song of the Builders. The directive was simple; keep civilians and the Olifera safe. It would do what was needed with healing, if it must. If the nightmare infestation grew too substantial, the station would bathe the planet in healing light, and would even send orbs of silver deep into the planet to root out infection. Catestrophic failure of the biome could not be allowed at this critical time.

A lonely little Catskinner sits quietly at the edge of the system. It's orders are simple. 'Scan the planet for all usable data on dear brother's project. Any other data gathered is a bonus. Forward all data in an encrypted burst message back to Nanabozho. Do not engage, if contacted, simply tell them you were sent on behalf of SUARM to check up on the Commander's pet project. Then return home.'

Week 5 Planetary Recovery Mission - Return to CV Beta 4 Empty Viggo getting the last laugh

Post  ViggoTheKasanthian Sat May 28, 2011 2:55 am

Viggo couldn't help but chuckle to think how Gilmour would be frantic with what would happen next. It was a simple as turning the ...Qaz... Quall on their own. Being that the settlement has not only been nightmares but groups of apprentices to make sure things were being run properly and everything was coming along ...jek... just fine, whatever Gilmour had been question the members of the Trilat about to get the upper hand would not entirely work.
This was going to take ...pra...precision and accuracy to get just right, why not take a ...lof... little more breathing room when the opportunity arose. Now the apprences would exchange artifacts from the missiles. These missiles were targets to give a blast radius around each of the new settlements. The next volley would be purely delicious, arificed with chill blast and instill nightmare. The artificed chill blast would go off killing the fungus and leaving it's husk for the taking, while the artificed instill nightmare would then ...tug... take control of Gilmour's precious creation. How would he deal having his own experiment used against him and destroy what was keft of the ...ow... original specimen. Suck on them...buf...binbers, Gilmour.

Maybe Gilmour would like to settle this K'iou to weak little scientist. I'm sure some sort of ..hurm...honor duel could be set up, but that doesn't mean ...hef...hiding being his Prime Unit. When will the suckling come to an end , dear scientist?

Against my better ...jof...judgement, I will provide a settlement for Ryuk and his Rabble. I will do this a show of good ...fam...faith, he is a fellow Kasanthian and with the cause even though all his men are all Unity uplinked. And as for ...Pik...Prime, I'm sure the Grand Admiral would just love to know of your involvement. This would be standing up for the Kasanthian faith, how that for inspired! Twisted Evil
