Improving the Arcturus Warship

I'd like to begin an open discussion into possible improvements in the Arcturus Warship design. The overall design is as relevant today as it was when you drafted the plans for the the sky-fortress Taela. I think however by studying the extensive list of practical field data, we can enhance the craft to better serve its purpose as a fighter carrier and support vessel. I know a few of my commanders wish for higher defensive counter-measures that may also be used to aid its fighter escorts.

General Fe: We may be able to fulfill your needs more quickly than you realize. We have recently completed development of a new weapons system aimed at improving the survivability and adaptability of our Sagittae fighters which can, in fact, be adapted for point defense use on capital ships. Unfortunately for our staff at Sigma Mu, it is currently available only in our Trilat facilities. Place an order in the marketplace, and we will see what we can do for you. I will also solicit information about what your commanders require through Trilat channels.

We are, however, working on new pilot programs for a heavy fighter/transport here at Sigma Mu that will be available soon for general sales. Please let me know if your commanders are interested, and we will see what we can do about starting a Trilat-specific production run at one of our outboard facilities.

My apologies, here is the request.

A new variant of the Arcturus would emphasis greater defense for itself and for the fleet of fighters that it supports. Theoretical data suggested that by using nano-technology the crystalline matrix of the hull could be improved by interlacing other mineral components in-between the quartz on the molecular level. Most notably elements such as copper, gold, graphite, titanium, and mercury in small trace amounts to add durability against varying attacks. Additionally, the Nanobots employed in the Grex model would become standard. Allowing it to shield itself or other targets using a Faraday Cage. At the core of the Arcturus's weaponry would still be the iconic energy lance projected from the crystalline matrix. Yet, several of the Gauss Rail Cannons are replaced by a specially designed soft shell cannon. The cannon, know as a Neutralization Rail, delivers a round of metal designed to embedded itself on impact with the target and also be warded against a particular elemental layes directly before firing. The targeted delivery system would have uses for neutralizing threats or shielding other targets from specific attacks.
