Preparing for the threat of TRILAT Fleets

Post  F.KalMarx on Sun Apr 24, 2011 4:19 am

"These TRILAT fleets are a threat to many of our worlds. We have a responsibility to keep them safe. I want to know what the Sector Generals plan on doing about the TRILAT fleets. Le-a HiveQueen, Ar'yay HiveQueen, I wish for your advice and assistance against this threat as well," said Director Kal Marx.

"I have faced the Unity Prime in single combat. They are dangerous, creative and tactically flexible.
But they do understand honor. I suggest we pry the TRILAT apart through diplomacy.
Offer Prime freedom and purchase rights for Unity Planets only.
But instead of ghaz or credits, we offer them payment by turning on the E-strain.

Much as my colleague Sector General Deer did with San Martin and its system, we have an opportunity to turn an enemy into an ally. Surely Director you can appreciate that the Unity already is aware of the E-strain and their planets.

I suspect the Unity conversion vessels could eliminate the threat of E-strain on planets they convert. Of course we would need the support of the Board of Directors to accomplish this victory through diplomacy. Your voice could help convince the Board."

"Alternately you could convince the Board to allow Sector General Deers plan from nearly two years ago. Codename Beaches, yes the plan he had to glass every planet with over 50% infestation by E-strain. If the Fleet from the Brethren Expanse was recalled and sent to E-strain space we could complete Codename Beaches in under six months."

I am all for glassing planets infested with E-Strain but I ask that I allowed to open up a few energy bridges here and there on the planets to evucatue as amny citizens of the planet that i can so that I may convert them over to my hive it is such a waste of recourses plus any information that these citizens has about the E-strain I would gain which I would of course tell the IR about the information I have obtained.

Okay Hive Queen Le-a,

Im not going to go into all the reasons I'm not going to order everyone capable of being saved to be impregnated by your larva. Don't you have an entire penal colony the IR gave you already to impregnate?

Sector General Palomedes,
Do you really think you can turn the Unity against the E-strain?? I have gotten approval from the Board to allow you to extend the offer to Unity to buy their own worlds at a rate of 1 to 1 for each world they recover from the E-strain for us.

Each world will be checked of course and even a hint of treachery will end this option.

Not a single Manslayers Mauler or Briancrab can remain on or in the planet.
No Unity or Kasanthian traps either.

This option will Not be extended to the Kasanthian Federation.

Hey Kal Marx,

You are the Director, you and the board will make its decision. But I gotta warn you, the rest of Unity poses a much larger threat than you expect. I could make a deal with Clover of Unity because she was good hearted. I don't normally put truck in such ideas, but she had a good heart and won't betray our trust.

The rest of the Unity is evil with a capital E. Don't let their games fool you.

I formally lodge a complaint against this plan. If you can even call it that.

If you go ahead with this you are selling out the Iron Republic.

Greetings, i am Primate Gul'Zin of the Church of the Horned Dog, Hive Queen Ar'Yay would be here in person but you sort of banned her from doing so. Yet you ask her opinion here Director Marx so I am here to express her views on the matter.

While Prime has shown to be honorable to a degree, his views seem naive and he makes assumptions based upon limited knowledge.
When it comes to the E Strain I would have to agree with Sector General Deer, all E strain need to be exterminated, and we should not assume that Prime could do so. It might be cheaper but it will not be as effective.

The Church of the Horned Dog has minimal fleets, we purchased 10 Banking Guild Heavy frigates which we use to defend the Colony "Light of Dawn" We are planning on purchasing some more ships to defend the moon bases we recently acquired. So our resources are quite limited in your dimension.

Primate Gul'zin,

Most interesting title, I had suspected the Quall disliked humanity from my previous interacting with Quall HiveQueens. But a title of Primate, now that is eye opening. But I didn't call this here meeting to argue speciesism or matters of "faith".
Your aid will help.

Especially excellent work Palomedes. We have the TRILAT in the perfect position.

The Unity will keep to their word under Prime of Unity. And we shall keep ours.

I have marked our maps of Unity planets believed to have demonic taint in red and those of innocents in blue. Our focus is going to be on the Estrain but we must keep an eye on the Unity demons so they don't betray us and Prime.

I'm still waiting for after action reports from Falayis, but as long as success was had by us we need to keep momentum.

Palomedes Id request you lead the Joint IR-Unity Extermination fleet as the Board have dubbed it.
What boring names...

Primate Gul'zin you shall aid Palomedes if your HiveQueen agrees to it. Palomedes will handle all diplomat issues with Unity. But Primate you will make sure the Technomantically adept Unity doesn't use the Leyas to confuse Sector General P.

Taking name suggestions for this coming crusade, err umm, cleansing, umm err, bug hunt?

I disagree with this....agreement with the Unity, while the E Strain is a larger threat allowing the Unity to grow unmolested will be trouble in the long run.
We believe that you have the power to destroy both the E Strain and the Trilat but your committee is so consumed by your profit margins that you are unwilling to take the necessary steps. I would suggest doing a massive build up and send in an overwhelming fleet against the Trilat wiping them out once and for all. Sure you will take a massive financial hit and your profits will be down for a long time. However once the Trilat is gone, then you can simply absorb their previously held territory and regain your losses.

However i know that you will not do this because heaven forbid your board members cannot buy their latest diamond coated mansion,
So I will say this, use the Unity to wipe out the E Strain, then destroy them, they are too dangerous to be left to their own devices.
For now i will work with Sector General Palomedes

Primate,

On that you have my agreement,

If left to its own devices the Unity is a terrible threat. I personally will feel more assured knowing your forces will aid us if this treaty of convenience turns sour.

In accordance with Treaty of 2220, we will begin our campaign against the Estrain immediately.
All IR forces and allies are encouraged to join.

We will crush the Estrain. Then we will consolidate their worlds under the fist of Mars.
And glory shall come to the IR and Quall once again.

Why is it civilians who always talk bout glory and shit like that. Ain't no glory getting your stomach cut open by an Estrain.

Hey Primate, funny title.

Fred you gotta level with these people. You know and I know even if Prime can follow the treaty people like Ryuk the Warcriminal are going to break it.

Hey Primate want a bannana? No really but there are fruit on the table help yourself.

Le-a is either a great actress or po ed by this. How about we help her do some damage to Garmin Fe Legally and within the treaty of course.

Maybe help her track some of them Flag Staff corp shuttles. I got people who tell me Flag staff is just a front for beacon city and Garmin fe. But no proof, so if Le-a got some people who can play space pirate

pirat Exclamation

Sector General Deer....you do know that the title Primate is a religious rank right? Here is the definition from some of your own ancient texts

"Primate (pronounced "PRI-mayt") is a title or rank bestowed on some bishops in certain Christian churches. Depending on the particular tradition, it can denote either jurisdictional authority (title of authority) or ceremonial precedence (title of honour)."

The Church of the Horned Dog takes some small things like title ranks from your own history in order to make your people feel more comfortable. After all we are here for the benefit of your people, after all when so many people live in squalor faith is a way to make their lives a bit better. Also lets face it, being a part of the Horned Dog is generally a step up from your lower classes.

In addition, it is true that I am a civilian, I am not part of a military but i have fought against blasphemers an heretics before. I am no stranger to the dangers of war, i fought against Garmen Fe's forces on numerous occasions. I have also run a shelter for the homeless and hungry, so I have been around.

I will ignore the banana comment, I will chalk it up to simple ignorance rather then an attempt to give offense.

As for Flag Staff, I already have people watching some of their operations and I know that they do a large amount of business with Garmen Fe, as for them being a front...it is possible but I do not have evidence of that either. Well better to be safe then sorry, so we might as well put some hurt on them.
As for Hive Queen Le-a, her anger is understandable, as you formed alliance....well sorry, a partnership with the Unity who is Garmen Fe's biggest supporter. Hive Queen Le-a can play pirate, it will help her grow and deprive them of resources, in fact I might even lend her some military equipment to help her. However Hive Queen Ar'Yay prefers more direct methods. Perhaps some end of the world volcanic activity on one of the worlds where they operate might be good. Hard to do business when the planet is covered in Lava. Twisted Evil

"Deer probably means no offense Primate. His upbringing did not include access to history books and other sources of unvarnished information about Earth before the Golden Age.

I do respect the work your missionaries do, even if I do not agree with their faith.

As for the Director, I'm surprised he didn't know that, the Frederick Kal Marx I know is a great historian in his free time. It must surely be exhaustion confusing him.

This conversation of harassing our potential allies I find very distastefull. We have not even attacked our first Estrain hive and this group is already ready to lynch the Unity members for breaking the treaty.

I understand Le-a and her upset. She has seen her family killed by people who we would now call allies. Of course this develops deep anger and resentment.
Of course she wants vengeance and justice for her dead.

My heart goes out to your obvious turmoil Le-a HiveQueen.

I cannot be an honest arbitrator of this treaty if I sit in this meeting and continue to listen to plans to attack our allies through loopholes.

Before I go I have one last suggestion. The duel between Prime of Unity and I were a good option and Le-a and Garmin Fe might be a better one.

One on one in honorable combat. If you decide not to dishonorably attack innocents to punish Garmin Fe I will ask a single combat be set up. You can unleash your rage on Garmin Fe directly without harming relatively innocent colonists. Le-a. I implore you to take the higher road. Many Quall have spoken at length of how they are better than us humans. Prove it by being more wise than the violent fools you surround yourself with."

Said the elder Palomedes, glaring at Deer and rising from his seat. He bows respectfully to the HiveQueen Le-a, Director Kal Marx, and the Primate of the Horned Dog Church. He then leaves the room briskly looking as if he felt dirty for even hearing their plans for harming Garmin Fes citizens in their attempt to punish the Kiou General. In some ways the Sector General was a hypocrite and he knew it. He felt a deep and abiding guilt for the innocents of Druzi Prime that he himself had sacrificed in a similar wanton bloodlust.
When he finally got to the safety of his cabin aboard his own ship in private he rolls up sleeve and took his daily dose of insulin. Then he presses a button on his intercom and a mek brings in a tray with a cup of steaming hot chocolate. He still remembered putting marshmellow in his sons hot chocolate as a child.
Palomedes picked up the comm and he placed a call to his son. Times like these required the support of family.
