Welcome to the TRILAT

Post  AdmiralLayneYr on Tue Apr 05, 2011 12:47 am

Don't pay no mind to the boys, sweetie,

I know your new in town, even though your race is ancient. We don't know much about you yet, but Unity is doing all they can to track down information on your species past Im sure.

Its a lot of information to learn about this crazy universe, but some stuff people are telling you is true. For example we do serve alongside demons.

The Trilat is open to all types. Some ain't quite alive, and some ain't got their own souls (tend to buy em off the unfortunate instead). We don't discriminate. So if you're a gene warping plant, we're cool, and if you are a reality warping demon, we're cool.

As for the Quall. The Quall don't mean to be evil, selfish meanhearted sons of HiveQueens, they just are.
They are aliens from the dimension of Kyrpos. They breed by using other species as hosts for their larval young, then when the larva matures it consumes the body in flames, stealing the hosts memories for the Hive somewhere along the way.

Whether the Quall destroyed your kind, or the Neliff destroyed your kind, it doesn't make much of a difference.
The Quall did kill you and use you as a host in your earlier life (though in reverse order). And that sucks.

One of the TRILAT's goals is to rescue races from the Quall Hiveminds scattered across Kyrpos. You were one of the lucky firsts.

Anyway if you have any questions about alien species, or about Undead, or about Nightmares, or about Demons, I'll be in system for a while so use this commstone to communicate with me.

I'll hang it from one of the branches so its close by. All you need do is say call and it will call.
Be seeing you!

This one is grateful for your enthusiastic welcome!

This one treats all life with equal respect, but has been bombarded with warnings about things called "demons". What are they, to inspire such vehemence? Are they not creatures, like any other? Are they from a different plane of existence, like the Quall?

This one would be grateful for any information on such beings.

May your wind and skies be clear and clean, and your nested hearts calmed in peace.

"Demons should more than concern you,
They normally are the vilest sorts of noncorporeal creatures in all existance. The Ancient Evils, as the demons are called, come from a corrupt primordial reality filled with its own hell-dimensions that induce madness (and often death) in creatures from our reality. To give you an idea of distance, the Quall N'drone inhabit Kyrpos. They are aliens from another dimension in our reality. Sure they're evil by my estimation, but no more so than a botfly or tapeworm, they need a host to spread.
The Ancient Evils are as deeply different from us and the Quall as us and the Quall are to amoeba. They cannot even inhabit our world without using one of our bodies as a fleshy suit. They make deals with our kind. Those with the spark of life. They give us what we want, catch is once we get it, we get killed in some gruesome way and they get to use your body to house a Malevolent, a Fiend, or worse yet, one of the Five Ancient Evils. The five Ancient Evils, the big ones, that all the others serve are The Maw of the Deep, the Xephon, the Accuser, the Creeping Darkness, and their primordial enemy the rogue Ancient Evil known as the Warmonger."
Layne Yr paused taking a deep drink of her wine and wetting her lips,
"Oh I missed one. It seems a shame to call it an Ancient Evil, because its quite new but it shares their place and power for billions of citizens.
Its name is the Unity, and Prime is its Avatar..."

Layne Yr continued to sip her wine awaiting more questions.

So, this one is to understand that these "demons" are incorporeal spirits? And the only way for them to materialize is to be invited inside a corporeal body?

This sounds similar to when Oleifera would become infected with what we called the "burning rot". Those afflicted would become aggressive, forming choates which made injuries on other choates and their hosts.

Can demons take over unwilling persons, like the Quall do? Or must they be invited? One finds that the distinction is important to one, losing one's free will by one's own decision is not equivalent to an unwilling invasion of mind and soul. None of the Unity which this one has met seem to be under duress or torment, unlike what this one experienced while trapped within Quall.

If the Unity is a demon, then this one finds this particular demon quite kind.

One thinks that demons may be as varied as these other creatures it has found itself amongst - some good, some evil, some indifferent. One would like to study them further.

"We are lucky, while a Quall might catch you and impregnate you with its larvae against your will the Ancient Evils can't just steal your body.

If they already have a host though they can be dangerous to all around them. They can even possess the weak willed around their host and force them to do unnatural things (depending on the demon quite delightful).

I theorize that "burning rot" you refer to was the taint of an Ancient Evil. If an Ancient Evil possessed an Oleifera it would be able to use your abilties on your choates to make warped and twisted versions.

When Warmonger took the K'ias Vul as a host, organic warmachines were churned out, as shaping organic flesh was the greatest talent of the Fleshweaver Vul. An Ancient Evil turns a species greatest powers against themselves."

Layne Yr paused to pour another glass of wine and sipped a little off the top.
"So when a creature sells their soul in a soul contract, and the demon moves in, he or she keeps all your good moves. The Quall saves your history, and a demon tosses it to the side like a gum wrapper. I don't like the Quall mind you, but I love aliens. Really quite fascinated by them. Aliens from other planets, aliens from other dimensions within our reality. There are so many wonderous types. And they all look good with a nightmare hiding in their flesh. But I digress, unlike my Nightmare which sometimes walk around inside a body, once a Demon has a body the original inhabitant never gets it back."

Layne Yr sipped some more wine, dabbed a napkin at her lips and continued.
"Unity Prime is kind. The Unity cloned him that way."
Layne Yr takes another deep drink,
"But then again you've never seen the U.O.H.S. Unity Ordered Hellscapes. They were places where the Unity tossed innocents into where they had to fight and survive in barbaric conditions. It was a survival of the fittest on space stations under the watchful gaze of Unity demons who used the process to generate power and to birth demons like the Unity Cherubs and the Unity Thrones. Have you seen a cherub of Augury yet? I lead an army of half-crazy Nightmares from the darkest imaginations from across the universe and a Cherub of Augery gives me the willies."

Layne Yr waited another moment before she dropped the big bomb. Just in case there were backup plans. As far as Layne Yr was concerned there was always backup plans. She finished the second cup of wine and smiled, and said,
"Remember how I said Unity Prime is kind, the Unity cloned him that way. He was also cloned not to know that all the Unity Demons are in hiding. We all must make him believe that he defeated them and the Dragon of Unity six months ago. If not the Unity will unleash the Dragon of Unity, a creature that will destroy or consume all beings it comes into contact with. Now I share this information with you knowingly. Even Garmin Fe does not know this deep truth.
Unity Prime is kind, because the Unity cloned him that way."

Layne Yr knew the coming battle ahead would be rough. It would be better to be upfront with the Oleifera than have it spill out later, in the hands of an enemy as privileged information. One might find one Quall in a billion who was actually good and heroic and not a selfish creature trying to drag people away for impregnation. I have even heard tales of Bry the Good Nightmare Lord raised by the Infamous Group 2. And beings like Mor'aye'ahn and Lil'aye'ahn prove that even creatures as distrusted as the K'ias can sometimes be upstanding citizens.
But Demons were simply evil. It, after all, is what they did best.

Layne Yr smiled. If the Oleifera could handle this, then she would be a fine addition to the TRILAT.

Re: Welcome to the TRILAT

Oleifera paused in consideration. It was really going to have to meet a "demon" one of these days - they sounded just as bad as the Burning Ones. It could tell that this particular human wasn't... quite as gentle as it looked. Probably just as dangerous as the "demons" it was warning one about. And "nightmares"? This new world seemed to have an overwhelming number of parasites. And if there's one thing Oleifera have always hated.... it was parasites. Choates feeding from other choates was one thing, but there was always a cycle of return built in. One could not take at the expense of another - something of equal value was always offered in return, whether it be between Oleifera or choates.

"This one will heed your warnings. This one will be joining the sub-network of the Builders, so perhaps one will find more information to corroborate your histories. If so, this one will entertain the notion of finding a biological solution to these "demons". Perhaps a way to teach human flesh to eject such taints.... Without hosts, parasites must wither and die. This one is most grateful for your time."

The Oleifera paused, and then added, "This one has recently created a pair of choates which.... unsettle nearby humans. This one is most pleased by their romping, and gentle demeanors, but would prefer to reduce the number of regurgitations made by its human help on a daily basis. Would Admiral Layne Yr accept a gift of these choates as pets?"

Layne Yr's eyes lit up with genuine glee when she looked upon the creatures.

"These Choates, as you call them, are quite beautiful in their own horrific way. Do you have a name yet for this subclassification of Choat?"

Layne Yr looked around for a moment then smiled brighter, "I also brought you a present."

Walking back to her pod, Layne Yr opened the hatch revealing a trio of normal young humans dressed in Kasanthian Youth Corps Uniforms.
They were pretty little students, thin, with the arrogance of entitlement about them.
"These three apprentices would like to become your choates as well. Mindy, Mandy, and Sandy this is the Oleifera you have asked about. Oleifera enjoy their company and their service, and tell me how they serve on my next visit."

(occ: i tried sending these as private messages, but was told that i should post them up to the planet Zahaz page. They were two separate posts that i'm just cut and pasting together for ease.)

Greetings Grand ...olf....Oleifera,
It would seem that fortune is on or side. Perhaps we can rend'zvous upon CV ...Buh ... Beta 4, and make it a suitable lasting preserve for this ...ond.... union. A common ground for both our kinds to just expand and have ...fig... freedom!
Viggo

Hurm....Greetings Oleifera,
I have hear tales of your kind, and wish to arrange a meeting in person around the once lush jungles of my base of operations of Nykosa 9. My quite home has recently been the sights of a ....gahh....horrendous weapons testing. I believe the ....ugh.... Iron Republic is responsible for hiring a group of Mercs, to attack the innocent youth of my ....nuh...nightmare ranch and the surrounding jungles.
This is part of the reason i had wished to get in contact with you. I have heard stories about your next of kin, and breeding of your race. I have been trying to raise up, and breed a ...reh...respectable nightmare. I would like to see if there might be a way of breeding your great race with that of my ..ses...sentient nightmares . ...Nug... Nykosa 9 has the means to be an absolute paradise. I would like to believe that the ...Ugh... Iron Republic are not capable of destroying all dreams.
I ...er....eagerly await your response.
For a greater tomorrow,
Viggo

This one is honored by your invitation to meet, but will be remaining on Zahaz for the foreseeable future.

This one wishes to know more about "sentinent nightmares". What will be its purpose? Is it for learning, or building, or discovering?

This one must ask you to respect that it will not kill sentient beings, nor will it create choates or other lifeforms which do so.

Ghr...Grand Oleifera,
I am glad to receive word back from you. I am thinking towards the purposes of... bri...building and discovery. I would like to think that bewteen these two species, we might be able to make a suitable ...hig... habitat. A place that live nightmares maybe able to ...rit.... roam as they wish, without fear of attack or danger. I believe the ...erg ... earthers have a saying about this, something about "home on the ...rah... range." I like to think that a ...nihl.... nightmare ranch is possible, and that their species can thrive in the right environment.
I was hoping you would be able to believe in this ...khu...cause. Laughing
