Driving off the Shadow Week 3: Bonus Defense Mission Empty Driving off the Shadow Week 3: Bonus Defense Mission

There was a moment of peace as the two massive fleets stood against one another in the darkness at the edge of civilized space. The allied fleet had a moment to take stock of the situation and make preparations...should negotiations go south. Ship commanders and colonists alike waited with baited breath for orders from their brave commanders. The one sterilized colony stood empty, but for the obelisks being silently erected by gaunt figures.

Meanwhile, E-strain vessels began the work of collecting their dead. The lone disabled command carrier had a number of sleek vessels which latched onto it and began the slow process of bringing it to the fleet. Other small bloom ships were simply consumed by huge vessels with open maws as if they were schools of fish.

All knew they stood at the precipice of disaster. What would they do to prepare against such odds?

(OOC Note: While the decision to negotiate is being made, I thought it would be wise to give you a chance to take stock of defenses and put forth any contingency plans. In particular, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to post any anti-infiltration and security measures you have put together for this mission. E-strain are notoriously hard to find and can wreck havoc with electronics systems. There is no penalty for not posting in this thread, which I will consider closed next Monday (June 4th). This, as a bonus mission, only involves one week. June 4th will also be when the next mission starts, regardless of if you decide to negotiate or not)

All approaches would be monitered by Uloh Magnavores for incoming rogue Estrain.
Teams of Uloh Insectivores would be sent in backed up by EEF Onis in Lancer Power Armor to wipe out any infiltration attempts.

OOC: I had forgotten that Origins was this weekend and that a number of players were involved. Considering that, and other factors, I am extending the deadline for this prep bonus mission until the end of the week. I will consider it closed on Friday the 8th.

Driving off the Shadow Week 3: Bonus Defense Mission Empty Re: Driving off the Shadow Week 3: Bonus Defense Mission

Orleos stalked the length of his quarters after the absurdity that was the meeting The obelisks were well on their way to being placed, but what was bothersome was the fact that the E-Strain were 'playing' at Diplomacy.

It had to be a ploy if anything, the 'Peace Makers' would see that once all hell broke loose, 'I can't wait for that moment. I will tell them, "I told you so." and that is something I can look forward to.'

Until that moment though, he would have to play along with whatever decision was reached in the negotiations between the representatives. However, if the E-Strain decide to attack, then it would be time for them to pay dearly. Someone or something was pulling the E-Strain's strings, and that someone or something would be the key target.

While the negotiations between the assembled factions and the E-Strain were underway, the placing of obelisks on the colony would remain on schedule. Conflict always provided a good cover and all eyes would be on the E-Strain, not the assembly of different peoples. Aside from that, Yr ships laden with his Wretches would be placed throughout the fleet and on the nearby station.

If the threat was made real, they would be controlled to seek out any that tried to infiltrate the ships or station, swarm them, destroy them, and, if possible, avoid killing any non-E-Strain in the crossfire.

The E-Strain proved hardy, but just like everything else in armor, they were soft on the inside. It was time to see what they could do against a rival swarm of beings, but with the advantage of surprise and being phantasmal.

Ragman sat in thought, 'did he really need this kind of intrusion right now?'

Finally after monthes of hunting he had gotten a lead on where the terrorist known as 'Tatters' was. he couldn't take the time to deal with any minor bother such as yet another invasion.

Sending a message to his daughter, Lady Ja'celyn, "Daughter, do what ever you have to to help but i will not be able to join you any time soon. i am sending your sister with reinforcements to aid you. Angel's Descent will be bring them. I suggest you use groups of Lamias to aid the garrisons and help patrols. Aid the colony general how ever you feel nessecary. I must go try to find your brother, have a good day and be safe'
